This is the third time we order takeout from Bowl91. The food is delicious and they offer a variety of Asian inspired dishes (Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese). I definitely recommend their fried rice. We tried the Bowl91 fried rice and also the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. Both very tasty and nicely cooked. The crab Rangoon are one of the best in the area. We do always eat one as soon as we pick up the food lol so I would recommend you do the same so they're crispy and hot :) One of my favorite things so far are the chicken Tacos. They're Vietnamese style, all the awesome Topping you would get in a banh mi, but in a corn tortilla. Super super good. We ordered them again each time. Looking forward to trying their soups and curries next time! read more

The service here was unreal-and not in a good way. Half-empty ar 4:45, and they couldn't seat us (party of five) because the server preferred NOT to use the four-person table that was available for five people. The two, two-person tables (next to each other) were also "unavailable" ... for us. We were told there'd be an hour wait minimum for a HALF EMPTY restaurant. We were told we had to wait, and watched them seat 12 people behind us! Well over an hour later, they finally offered us a table. By then, we'd driven 10 minutes away, ordered, and eaten most of our meal. REALLY?!? Is this food worth THAT kind of wait?!? Guess we will never know. read more

When I first heard about Bowl Ninety-One I knew I had to try it. I was finally able to do that this afternoon and now I wish I did not wait so long to do so. Atmosphere- I love the layout and atmosphere here. There are lots of tables and a few seats at the bar. Drinks- They have a decent selection of drinks. Pepsi products, Coke, Diet coke, Thai coffee, Thai tea, and hot tea. They don't have iced tea which is usually my go to but its a very minor thing. Food- Holy freaking crap the food here is amazing. I wish I could give the place 6 stars because of how good the food is. I ordered Crab Rangoons and Chicken Pad Thai with Crispy Pork Belly. The Crab Rangoons were a lot bigger than I thought they would be and they are some of THE BEST Crab Rangoons I have ever eaten. I can't wait to get these again. The Pad Thai was delicious as well. The pork belly I added was perfect. It was the right amount of crispy and flavor. I wish it could come more spicy but I was able to add Sriracha to it to make it spicy. Service- Some of the best service I have ever had. I was sat very quickly and my order was taken by a very friendly gentleman who also raved about the crab rangoons when I mentioned how freaking delicious they were. My food was brought out quickly and was hot. My server made sure that my water stayed filled the whole time I was there. If you want a great place to get lunch or dinner Bowl Ninety-One is a can't miss place. This will probably climb the list to one of my favorite eateries in Appleton. Do not wait any longer and check this place out! read more

I'm all about supporting the ma and pa shops in the little Apple (aka Appleton) so when I heard that the first ramen shop opened up, I made sure to spend my corporate per diem here for dinner one night. Verdict: pleasantly surprised by taste, depth, flavor of the broth. Noodles were fresh. Chasu on point. Is it amazing ramen? No but it's pretty darn good for a small college town in Wisconsin. My one disappointment came from the mango iced green tea drink. I specifically asked the server how sweet it was and she said it wasn't too bad; they don't add sugar to the drink. So I trusted her opinion and gave it a whirl. It was WAY TOO SWEET. I told her, hoping she'd provide some sort of remedy but she just walked away. So minus a star for lack of customer service. A lesson learned to steer away from fruity drinks here. read more

They no longer are interested in doing business. They used to care about customers and have a customer mindset. Now I walked in with my family and stood at the door for 11 minutes until someone came over and said it would be a 15 minute wait to sit down and eat. There were six open tables. When I pointed this out she said others were waiting to sit down and she just had not called them yet. Super disappointing!!! read more

I love the vegan ramen option and others the food is good, I especially love the mushrooms in the Raman and the service is prompt. I like the ambiance in the part of the restaurant near the windows. I would recommend if you're looking for a chill place to have an afternoon date or catch up with friends or family. read more

Japanese cuisine is amongst our favorite cuisines. Perhaps being number one. The reviews for this eatery drew us to coming here. We frequent many ramen places all over this country. We were extremely excited to try a new ramen-oriented restaurant. It was cute and quaint inside of this establishment. Minimally decorated. Our waitress was kind and polite. We are sad to say that this was the worst ramen we have indulged in to date. Almost nothing about this restaurant was done correctly. The food was horrendous and the flavors were off. The only enjoyable item on the menu was the "happy belly buns." If you are from any major city that has authentic Japanese or Asian-fusion cuisine, you will definitely be let down by this restaurant. The only menu item one should even consider ordering would be the steamed buns. However, they were just decent. The Thai Tea was good and traditional, however it was way too sweet. The Seasonal Black Tonkotsu was horrendously bland. It was supposed to boast a creamy, black garlic-infused broth. We could not even taste the slightest hint of black garlic. The strangest aspect of this dish was the marinated egg. It seemed to be marinated in a beer of sorts. It tasted extremely cheap and very hoppy. Oddly enough, the egg itself had notes of artificial grape flavoring. The Drunken Udon was completely overloaded with green peppers. The overuse of green peppers completely threw the flavors of this dish off. Not to mention, it would flare up someone's arthritis. At this point there is no reason to continue to go more in depth on the lack of bold and authentic flavors, which previous reviewers boasted about. Past reviews highlighted the authenticity of Japanese ramen at this restaurant. Nothing about it was 日本人 Frequenters of this establishment must have not have had the honor to try truly authentic ramen. Bowl Ninety-One was an extreme let down to say the least. read more

Been here before when it was really busy and the service wasn't great. Went back the other day and it has improved drastically. I had the pho last time which I enjoyed and the spicy miso ramen this time. Both really good. I like this place but I hate parking downtown. read more

Our favorite Ramen in the state! Good service and a nice comfy atmosphere. We also love the pork belly steamed buns!

it's been hard being a cali raised asian foodie out here in the midwest but bowl 91 didn't disappoint ! Spicy miso was my dish (bottom) and my boyfriend got tom yum yummy (top). We switched bowls for a taste about half way through and I still thought it was amazing. Spicy miso could've been a little spicier but I do like it reallllyyyyg spicy. Tom yum yummy should've had some more sour and creamy flavor for sure! it was good but really didn't get the tom yum flavor from the broth. thai tea was the best, most authentic flavor i've had out here 10/10. perfect cream to tea ratio also! our server was a wonderful young girl with glasses, amazing service!!!! Everyone was so kind and I would love to come back read more

The food was so good. We went back a second time a few days later and did take out. We were happy with both dining in and the take out.

Delicious food ! I have been her three times. Today I had the special which was Squash Curry. It had squash, cashews, tofu and cranberries. Delicious taste. The staff was friendly especially the waitress. The only thing I did not like was the bathroom was small. I also was seated right across from the door so I was chilly. Despite the small size it has a very comfortable atmosphere. Family friendly. I loved the diverse backgrounds of diners. It felt very peaceful! read more

Right on College Ave in the heart of downtown Appleton. Great location and my daughter and I scored the best table (the one by the window facing College Ave). We came in during the lunch rush at about 1215. I think this may factor into my star deduction, but more on that later. We were just looking for lunch, so we skipped the apps, but they looked delicious. The table next to us had the Rangoons and they looked on point. I had a soda and kudos to Bowl 91 for providing Pepsi products. I may be in the minority on that one, but Diet Dew scores points with this Yelper. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken. I had been tempted to get the crispy pork belly, but my server kinda steered me away from it. My daughter got the veg ramen. See attached photos. Mine was hot and delicious. Good mix of veggies including green and red peppers, onion, and broccoli. The flavor surprise in mine was the Thai basil. Adds almost a licorice overtone. Medium heat to this dish, and this is medium heat MN/WI style. Tasty! My daughters ramen was jammed with plenty of noodles. Mandatory boiled egg, check. Solid vegetable mix according to her and she enjoyed it thoroughly. My read more

This place is super cute and clean. I really enjoyed the spicy miso ramen and the pork buns. The service was great as well.

I have been here twice and for both times I had awesome ramen. The broth tasted like it was simmered for hours. I asked for chilli on the side and they served chopped Thai chills which made the ramen extremely spicy and personally for me-that was what made the broth even tastier. We also had crab Rangoon which was fried to perfection. The service was great and the ambience was very homely. Even during week days, the place was pretty full. It seemed like locals love it here as well. A must visit if you are craving good ramen when you are in Appleton. I will surely visit whenever I am in town. read more

Five stars for Bowl 91. I'm from out of town and boy howdy - it is hard to find anything vegetarian or vegan in this part of the country. I ordered the Vegan Panang Curry w tofu and everything was cooked to perfection. Flavors were on point. The food made me feel good and nourished so I know it was truly vegan. We called for takeout and they were able to text when it was ready. Easy. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to vegetarians and vegans who can't find a piece of tofu anywhere in Appleton. Thank you, Bowl 91. read more

This was a nice ramen shop. The restaurant has a youthful feel to it. I had the crab rangoons and the udon noodles. It does take a while for the food to come and it is a bit on the pricy side for ramen. It has more than ramen if you don't like it and is definitely worth a try. read more

The place has really good food. I am a vegetarian and they had several options. Highly recommend it

It is extremely rare that I update a review from a 4 to a 5. You really have to impress me for a 5 change. Their service has improved by leaps and bounds. This is ultimately what pushed them over the edge from a 4 to a 5. Their food is unlike anything in the fox valley and I have wanted a solid ramen place for years in the area. They have ticked all my favorite food places boxes now. Just order ramen... order all the types of ramen it is so dang good. I would like to move in if they let me! read more

Tuesday night at 7p. No crowds. The menu was quite simple - a few appetizers, a few ramen and pho dishes and some other non noodle items. I had the Thong Kotsu ramen, a creamy tonkotsu soup made with pork bones for a long period of time. They did a good job on the broth. The beef bulgogi taco was also delicious. I liked how they made ethnic food with different twists. Service was prompt and restaurant had an upscale decor. I was very pleased with this new place! read more

My wife and I have been waiting for an opportunity to come down from GB to visit Bowl 91, and it was very much worth the drive down! Wow, they have some delicious food... It's definitely a fusion of asian flavors, and while not being authentic with any one thing, what we had was quite awesome. We started with the lemongrass chicken tacos, which were very tasty. I would love to see an option of having these in a lettuce wraps, but the corn tortillas were quite nice. The addition of the pickled veggies with jalapenos gave it an almost banh mi taste. Next we had a few eggrolls, Hmong style (our favorite), which were as good as any I've had in the area. I then had the tum yum yummy, as I love Tom Yum soup, and I was extremely impressed! Nice spice, lovely flavor, tasty meat and decent noodles. It's something I would order time and time again without hesitation. I am looking forward to trying their zucchini noodle option. My wife had the pho, as she is a lover of all things pho, and this was a very worthy take on the classic dish. And it very well may be the best pho in the in the area! It had that wonderful, and classic, pho favor with a nice depth of flavor that you only find in places that really care about the broth. The crispy pork belly included was icing on the cake - you can just serve me chunks of those with a nice spicy sauce and I would be happy! Bowl 91 is a wonderful addition to the areas restaurant scene, and we are very much looking forward to stopping back in. read more

This place is so yummy! I had the Thai Chicken Tacos & Curry Lover Ramen both recommended by my lovely server because they are very flavorful. Excellent choices. The decor is drab - simple - boring - no ambience as if they don't care to dress the place up. Two large screen TVs with a small bar that seats 4 and table and chairs throughout. You're clearly not coming here to find a cool hip joint - this is strictly about the talent that comes out of that kitchen. Delicious! read more

I am already excited to dine here again! We arrived Thursday evening about 6:00 pm and all the tables were visibly full, and it was a bit awkward standing in the dining area waiting to be greeted. We were greeted after a couple of minutes and were first on the waiting list to be seated; it only took a few minutes to turn the next available table. Our server was very friendly and engaging. She took our drink and appetizer orders right away, which I really liked. We ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Tacos, which I was really excited to try based on the recommendation of a coworker who had tried them at the farmer's market. They did not disappoint! I ordered the hot ginger tea, which was light, spicy and slightly sweet. For our entrees, we ordered the Tom Yum Yummy ramen and Crispy Pork & Chinese Broccoli with rice. Both were delicious and completely different. The ramen dish had great texture, was so savory and the broth had a nice depth of flavor. The rice dish was slightly sweet and the pork belly added a nice balance of saltiness. Our server continued to keep our glasses full, napkins stocked and remain engaged in conversation with us throughout the evening. I'm already scouring the menu and picking out my meal for next time! read more

I was super excited to try out Bowl 91 since Appleton did not have any ramen restaurants. It did not disappoint! The Thongkatsu had excellent flavor and so did the Tom Yummmy ramen. I had the Iced Thai Tea which was also good- but it was a lot of ice so I would ask for 'light ice' to get more tea. The bulgogi tacos were an appetizer and really good, although there were only two of them and we wanted more! My mom is a true ramen expert and she was pleased with the quality of the soup and broth. Her only complaint was the slow service, which I agree with. The prices aren't too bad, about $13 for a bowl of ramen. The atmosphere is nice and I'm willingly to pay that much money since the restaurant is well decorated and the employees are kind. Definitely recommend! read more
