Aisha cleaned and checked Mom's hearing aids. So far it wasn't improving her hearing enough. To our surprise, Dr. Stacey Cole came out and greeted my mom with a hug even though it had been a couple of years since Mom had been there. She took a quick look inside her ears and determined that she had a big problem with wax. With her next appt minutes away, Dr. Cole whisked Mom to her treatment room and took care of her. Mom can hear! We truly met an angel today and are so grateful for the kindness shown to us by Dr. Cole and Aisha at Bowie Hearing Professionals. P.S. I was then told I was not scheduled for the correct test and that when I am tested I have to have a driver, wear no makeup, eat a light meal and it takes at least 60 minutes. This is true for any top of the line hearing aid I found out. I reached out to my best friend who recommended her audiologist Dr. Marcie Jacobs. My friend found out that Dr. Jacobs was doing an annual event that gave a pair of top of the line hearing aids for free to a deserving person. My friend wrote a letter to Dr. Jacobs on my behalf saying how I have been through a lot of rough times in the past few years and that I am always doing things for others in need. Well as luck would have it, she picked me and I just recently picked up my new wonderful hearing aids this last Monday and just as her offer claimed, they didn't cost my a penny. I can't tell you how much they have changed my life for the better. I can finally hear again after months of not being able to hear very well. I work in an office and I can hear so much better from people in person and on the phone. I can finally hear my family when they talk to me too! I can't believe what a wonderful person she is by helping people with the gift of hearing every year. If I didn't win the hearing aids, I would still have gone to her for testing and my hearing aid purchase even if I had to take out a loan. She is such a lovely person and her energy makes going to her office a joy. She took the time to explain all the details about the hearing aids and showed me how to use them efficiently. When I bought hearing aids this year, I signed to pay $2,000, but when I got to the desk, the woman insisted they were $2,200 and tried to scare me into paying an extra $200, until I showed her the paperwork. And when I had my hearing exam, the audiologist kept tugging my ears in a way that hurt. I asked her to stop several times, but she wouldn't. I figured this is simply something you have to put up with there to get hearing aids. But I wouldn't suggest leaving a child or vulnerable elderly person alone with them. Particularly not a vulnerable elderly person with a credit card. Unfortunately my mom is also a patient, so I'm going to have to take off work to sit with her when she goes in because I do not trust these people. Right now, I'd just like to get my medical records. An assistant gave me a hearing test and Dr Damiano explained the results so a plan to further explore the reason and treatment is ongoing. Parking is usually packed and the only spaces are at the end of the lot and, for new patients, the turn into the lot comes up quickly and is easy to miss and require a U turn (the address sign faces the road so it's not obvious until you are going past)

I booked this appointment over a month in advance on October 10th. Unfortunately, I just had the worst experience at Hearing Healthcare Services. When I arrived, the doctor told me they do not accept Cigna. I made it very clear to the receptionist when scheduling that I had Cigna, so I don't understand why the appointment was booked in the first place or why I waited a full month only to be turned away at the door. To make matters worse, I was then told that their computer system had crashed, so they couldn't even perform a hearing test. If that was the case, the receptionist should have reached out to notify patients instead of having us drive all the way there for nothing. This entire situation showed a complete lack of respect for people's time--especially for someone already dealing with hearing loss and looking forward to receiving proper care. I have been coming to the Bowie Office Probably Over 10 years! I have to admit, there are times when I have had to hold for 10 minutes but I have never experience the rudeness or disrespect. What I have experienced is calling my doctor at the beginning of Covid19 because I was very sick. However because I did not have a high temp (my norm runs about 95, I was at 100 for me, it was high.) I was not considered a priority at the ER! I called my Dr. at MPC in Bowie, who told me to come to the back door, took my temp, took the nose swab and sent me back to the ER with a note! I was told, don't read-it, give it straight to check-in. I don't know what it said but I was finally tested and had Covid. I know, when I was a new patient and saw my Dr. I was given labs early afternoon which included blood work. My doctor, read my labs and left a message that I needed to come back to the office and she would wait for me. I got the message after 7pm but went by. I was pre-diabetic and she wanted me to have medication on the cruise. See she remembered a previous conversations about me trying new deserts when I cruise. I can call my Dr., send messages for my mom, dad or myself and get answers or appointments. BTW - she/they treat my parents and my husband. There have been changes with the staff but I have no doubt, it will be corrected. They take great care of us.
