This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. The manager scratched my lenses by rubbing them…read morewith a dry hand towel, He then rubbed the lenses together as he put them in a plastic bag!!!! When ordering them, the woman helping me was anything but helpful due to it being government coverage. 3 employees stood 10 feet away in an empty store LAUGHING as I was discussing these issues with the manager. Absolutely disgusting treatment. I was discriminated against and treated very poorly.

Hard to believe anything 'bad' about this wonderful optical business next to my wonderful…read moreoptometrist !! I came in wanting all-plastic glasses and left with beautiful, Bulgari, frameless, all-options, probably my last glasses thanks to Chris ... so happy with them. Then just months after their warranty ran out, I was being rushed by a friend whilst cleaning them and handled too roughly and broke an arm -- cost $500 yikes !! Kayleigh went to bat for me and Bulgari Co. covered replacement free of charge, thank goodness. Then this summer I wasn't going to take them whilst camping due to their delicate but gorgeous frame but decided to and broke an arm off when I placed them on top of my car seat. I was heartbroken but Kayleigh AGAIN went to bat for me having them fixed in-store. I am a low-income senior so what a relief. Like surgery, I found caring is so important after sale and Consumer's Optical is outstanding in my experience in sales, staff, and after-care. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I was thinking maybe I should give this place a three star, and here's why:This mall has two high…read moreend jewelry stores, two leisure wear stores and two stores dedicated to soaps and lotions. Having said that... I got some great deals and some kick-ass merchandise. I spent a little more money than I intended to and even bought some stuff for myself. I wish I'd had more time to shop, but maybe that's it's a good thing I didn't. The leisure wear stores, while being close together, each had different stuff that was unique and adorable. Skeleton and devil onesies? Wanted to buy them all. Cartoon underwear for him and her? I could go on and on. They had a Body Shop and a Bath and Body Works, both had great product and fantastic deals. I like how no one pounced on me as soon as I walked in. Can't say that for Edmonton Malls. I got Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte body scrub and shower gel plus a Perfect Autumn Day body mist that smells like apples for less than $20. And coupons. The Body Shop had some great sales. I especially liked how i got an anti-aging pomegranate set worth $58 for $40. I renewed my Body Shop membership card for $10 and got to use it for $13 in savings. Love that. But their Ardene store is AMAZING. This store doesn't stop at accessories and jewelry. They have clothes, footwear and pajamas. (Red Deer must be big on pajamas.) There's an extensive selection of decent shirts, pants, scarves, etc at pretty fair prices. I could have spent an hour in there! Bought some cool stocking stuffers and a couple of cheap surprise bags that had not bad stuff in them. Not going to spoil it for you, but some of the items in them were worth five bucks or more on their own, and not everything was crap they just couldn't sell. This place also has a decent sized food court and a Hudson's Bay and Toys R' Us. Next time I'm in Red Deer, I'll try to make more time for this place.

I opted into the plan where you give them money to have your lenses replaced within a time frame. I…read moreguess I missed the timeframe and because of that, I could not receive new lenses or my money back. So, essentially, they just took my money without any service attached. So, theft. I understand that I am responsible for getting the lenses ordered, but why do they get to keep my money? The receptionist was very rude about it and just "Hid" behind "Policy". I guess it is their policy to keep your money without service.

Your experience could very well be much different than mine. Firstly, I believe they have the average fees one would find at most optometrists. Not sure about their frames though, as I only ever bought one pair there. I can't give them more than three stars though. The reasons? First off, I found their reception to be very hit and miss. I had several situations where I had to correct them on information that should have been correct in the first place. And when there was an issue with my vision that required that I go see a specialist, the one they wanted to send me to involved a three-month wait, with NO courtesy call to remind me. Three months is a long time in when I worked in an industry that involved schedule changes that couldn't be altered (due to circumstances I won't mention here). Also, I have astigmatisms in both eyes. The optometrist I saw there decided it wasn't bad enough for me to require toric lenses. So my vision has been less than perfect for the past 8 years. I went to a different place earlier this year, and they recommended toric lenses. I'm wearing them right now. MAN, it's nice to see this sharp again. Your vision should always be AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE.
