Oh, how I think I may have been so wrong about this place, as being from California, my youngest daughter is going to school in River Falls, with a truck that's having a differential problem, but the bowens people have told me it is the transfer case that is the problem (got a quote of $2,000.00) and a bad water pump, ok I'll go with that since he seemed to be the guy that knew what he was talking about. A week later, I give the shop a call and I am told the truck would be ready the next day, but for an extra $500.00 more, as they found a bad front wheel bearing that needed tightening. Never got a call from them about this, but again, I am the dad in California, needing my daughter to be safe in her vehicle. I was told their guy took the truck for a test drive, and all is good. My daughter picks the truck up, of course, pays in full, makes it less than a half mile, calls me to tell me it's making the same noise as before. I called mike, who tells me to bring the truck back, their guy goes for a ride with my daughter and suddenly he now can hear the noise, mike. now says they'll take a look at it tomorrow. I call the next day and mike now tells me the truck has two problems, the differential now being the second problem, I said: But mike, I told you that at the very start of this, 10 bolts and you would have had that cover off. mike: yes you did but, that'll be another $137.00, he'll pick up the cost for the part, but not his labor (WHAT!). Ok just want my daughter safe. She picks up the truck, this time makes it to the great city Hudson, and that's right, it breaks down again same trouble it started with, mike's advice, tow it in, and we'll take a look at it. mike then informs me that their work is good and now suddenly the problem seems to be the transmission. Well mike before you can take any more money from me, we will be going elsewhere. read more
