Took my 57 Belair into Bow Tie to get it serviced and give the overall trans a once over- Nikki was up front about cost and how long my car would be there. Got a call from Duane as he found another issue and they were able to take care of that as well- amazing folks here and my car is back to driving as it should! Thanks again for the great service, I recommend them for all your transmission needs! read more

Bow-Tie Overdrive - 57 Belair 350 small block with 700r4 - Auto Parts & Supplies Near Me - Hesperia, California

Did a 700r4 swap into a 74 Nova. With a trans I purchased elsewhere. Duane, Nikki and Tiffany were all straightforward, honest. Quality work, complete in the time frame quoted. In a world with more scammers, BS, and unqualified people , bow-tie is obviously well run, honest no BS trans shop. Would highly recommend. A++ guys read more

They did the conversion on my 68 el camino about 10 years ago. Since them i have taken all my gm transmission issues to them and they have been awesome! I would use them again and recommend them to others. read more

Transmission went out on my 2014 Silverado 2500 company truck. I chose bow tie to rebuild the tranny. I was told it was perfect timing because they had a free lift, should take 2 to 3 days. I dropped it off Wednesday right when they were closing, Thursday I got a call at the end of the day and was told it was done! I chose to pick it up Friday morning and was shown everything that went bad. The transmission works perfect now. I will be getting a few transmissions from them for some older projects I'm working on. read more

Today, I picked up my 1971 C20 after having a 700R4 transmission installed and I couldn't be happier. My drive home is over 100 miles and my truck performed flawlessly. The workmanship on the installation was impeccable. The staff treated me like family. I highly recommend getting your transmission work done here! read more

Great folks. Very patient and willing to help with your GM overdrive needs. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a ton of questions, Jennifer was super patient and discussed a bunch of different options with me. They are upfront with their pricing and are straight forward people. read more

Bowtie fit us into their schedule and rebuilt our 4L60e daily driver truck transmission, which no one else was able to. The transmission is a one off year so parts weren't available. Dewayne built the unit for heavy duty use and it works perfectly. Great company that we will happily recommend to others. read more

Horrible experience with this company and their product. I bought the 700r4 for my 1991 Camaro. I followed their guidelines for install so I wouldn't void the warranty. I took it out for a test drive and found it had no 4th gear and the up-shifting was very sloppy. I called Bow-Tie Overdrive and talked to Chris. He said he had to get with the owner and he would call me back. He never did. They gave me the run-around for 2 weeks. So I ended up taking the car to a reputable trans shop in my area (Driveline Performance) and they found the valves in the valve body were stuck due to rust and pitting. They said the valve body looked like it had been sitting outside in a junk yard. I called Bow-Tie Overdrive again and asked for some help. They said the only way they would help me, is if I removed the transmission from the car and shipped it back to them at my cost and I would also have to pay to ship it back to me, as they do not cover shipping. I paid over $2,000 for this trans and it was no better than what I could have got at a junk yard. In the end I got nothing from Bow-Tie Overdrives. Not even a return phone call. Finally I gave up which I know is exactly what they were hoping for. read more

I ordered a bolt in transmission cross member for an LS1 conversion Im doing and it rocks. Really Beefy and looks like it just bolts in when I mocked it up. Nicely powdercoated, good price. Most LS after market cross members are skinny and not so beefy, but there unit is sweet. the crossmember aligned everything perfect, i had to widen two holes with a file to move it a little back, but for the most part bolt right in. Its amazing a 2000 engine, 1997 trans in a 68 firebird all bolted in that easy. These guys were also very very helpful over the phone and knew there stuff. Only negative was they sent me the wrong speed sensor for my trans, but Im sure when I call today, they'll trade it out. Thanks Chris Gardner read more

I ordered a Level II 200r4 transmission at the end of January, recieved it 3rd week of February. Carra helped me get everything together that I needed for my specific vehicle. She was very knowledgable and professional, took my calls and responded to my emails the same day. Products were securely shipped to me in southern California with out a hitch. Highly recommend these guys if you're in the market for a custom Transmission. Thanks Carra! Being calling when I start my next build. read more

I recently dropped off my 1962 Impala SS convertible for a 700r4 swap. I had purchased the level 2 series. I even had them convert from column shift with a floor shift. While the car was there, I called and asked if they could upgrade my old stock carb for an edelbrock. They were super cool with this and didn't give me the run around. Duane did an AMAZING job on my install. It was very clean and I couldn't have asked for a better crew for the job. I'm just upset that I didn't do this swap sooner. They now have a life long customer and I will highly recommend this shop to any of my friends. read more

We bought a transmission from Bow tie and it has be problem free for years. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

OK, if I can ONLY give 5 stars.... can I do two reviews and give them 10 stars?!? They really are the BEST! WOW!!! My superb experience started with CARA answering the phone. She asked all the right questions and navigated me through to the end... I actually avoided buying unnecessary parts and accessories because of her experience and product knowledge. (The transmission has built in value that most charge extra for) I set out to get a complete package, I got exactly what I wanted without hassle, haggling, or even pressure. She was so patient and helpful! As far as their work... Value! They included most items the competition charged extra for! Install data and direction is easy to follow and explains things so there is no way to mess it up... I ordered a 200r4 and I can say the turn around and delivery was quick! They met me at a show near home to avoid shipping fees!!!!! They answered each and every question... They actually answer their phones!!!!! Real humans talking to you, addressing your needs! Excellent customer service!!!! No hassles. MORE then fair in dealing with me. DO use these guys!!!!!!! read more

My husband was referred to this business by a Big Bear car enthusiast who had frequented this car repair business on many occasions. I thought, personally, that it was ridiculous to drive an hour and twenty minutes to have a 1986 Blazer repaired. Boy was I wrong. Chris, the service manager, was honest and reassured my husband that the repair would be finished in less than two hours. Efficient, reasonable. Worth the drive!!! I followed him down the mountain thinking that the car would be in the shop a couple days. Transmission shop specializing TH700 R4 and TH54, i believe. read more

I have 1964 GMC with a converted 7004R Transmission. The truck never really shifted into overdrive when I bought the truck used. Before the truck would rev high on the freeway. The Lock Up loader was installed by Bow Tie Over drives and now it runs great. These guys really know what they are doing. When speaking to other shops near me they really didn't make me comfortable they knew what they were doing or what I was talking about.. I drove 100 miles to go to Bow Tie and it was well worth it. read more

Worst experience ever the crossmember didn't fit. The transmission didn't last the test drive.. I had a transmission shop do the change over (Thank God) did the work test drove it didn't shift right. They call BTO and they sent out another valve body, when they pulled it down to change the valve body A-lot of medal and crud in the oil pan.. I PAID my Trans shop to pull it out send it back for another rebuild and PAID my trans shop to reinstall it, for THERE MISTAKE ! ! BUYERS BEWARE BE PREPARED FOR A HEADACHE ! ! ! read more

biggest piece of junk ever. i bought it for a project when we started it up it would not shift out of first gear. i brought it back to hesperia (2.5 hours away) they kept it 2 weeks and would not tell me what they did to it. i got it home and the seals were leaking. i paid aamco 350.00 to fit it. now with only 5000.00 miles on it first and reverse are going out and they want me to pay to fix it. never again!! mark read more

Bought a crossmember that they said would fit but it did not. They would not refund any shipping so I am out $50 for nothing. Owner is rude , would not recommend this business. read more

Not happy with transmission at all. Unfortunately the way they write there warranty requirements your usually screwed. So my tranny had sat for awhile since its a project truck. Well so far pan bolts were not torqued down so pan leaked replaced gasket and "properly torqued" . Next I find out out front seal was leaking another dam problem. All in all transmission has less than 500 miles on it and two significant problems. But once again they want to do warranty work so that's a mess. Lol. read more
