I recently bought three small houseplants from Golden Acres. They repotted them for me and…read moreeverything seemed fine. Shortly after I noticed two of them had bugs on them. All other plants in my home were healthy and bug free so I returned the infected ones to Golden Acres and asked for them to be replaced. But it had been about a month since my purchase and I had seen to reason to keep my receipt as all appeared to be good. The woman in the potting department recognized me and remembered me buying the plants but because I never had a receipt or proof of purchase she and the manager would not replace the two infected plants despite the fact she remembered my purchase. In the past we had spent hundreds of dollars there, a fountain, annuals, shrubs and much much more Had been purchased. They gave up a repeat customer whom they knew had bought the infected plants worth a measly $7.99 each for a piece of paper. I will not be returning there.

I have been now buying buying from La Greenhouse for a number of years and need to share this hidden gem outward to others that appreciate great quality, and are tired of buying inferior quality bedding plants or baskets due to a great price. Stop the pain of nursing crappy plants, and just go here. We have gotten tons of compliments from neighbours and friends over our hanging baskets, and our veggies have always come through with a bountiful crop. Super happy with them, and can't wait to get more from them this year. Here is their website if you're curious - www.lagreenhouse.ca

Their website is happy to advertise a return policy only they don't say you have to pay for insurance on the plants for when they die. Be smarter than I was and don't spend your money with a garden center that has to do business this way. Any reputable center will always at the very least give you another plant. When I called to speak with someone about the dead shrub a woman with an accent was by far the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She was not interested in making any attempt in trying to do the right thing, she was just smug and ignorant in telling me I had to buy insurance. I will never spend money here again and will go out of my way to stop anyone else from making the same mistake as me.
