I don't know what's with these salons asking for $70 for a gel pedicure and they do the job by half. Today I was taking my daughter to get her nails done and I thought it was time for my gel pedicure. Gel is now $20 more?! Ok, fine. But then the person doing my pedicure rushed the massage portion and didn't even massage my feet. Just my calves. I asked how much more for an actual foot massage as I thought it was included. The lady at the front said I must have slept through it. Why because I had my eyes closed and wasn't on my phone? She said she'd prove it by looking at the camera. I said she was being very rude to me and yes she could check the camera if she wanted. She continued to be rude so I walked out pedicure unfinished. **Update the owner personally called, he had left to get his kids from school and instructed the receptionist to do whatever was needed to make it right including a full refund and for some reason she took it upon herself to refuse and be rude. We are happy he took the time to call and make it right! I'm officially 8 months pregnant today and I had been wanting to treat myself with going and getting my nails done at Boutique Nails. I've been a customer at this salon for years and went last Tuesday. I've had a few occasions where knicks happen. Not a big deal, accidents happen. Had a couple happen on my fingers this time around. It hurt but nothing that was causing any concern for it to be mentioned at the counter. It's happened before and I'm not the type of person to freak out over stuff like that. Over the next couple days it was swollen and a little red. Figured it was irritated from getting the knick from the tool. It hurt but I figured it would go away after a couple of days. Today, it turned green. Now I understand not every experience is going to be a bad one at this salon. I just expect that when a bad experience occurs they correct it. The problem isnt how my nails turned out, the problem is how my skin turned green and how it was handled by the manager of the salon. Hopefully this saves someone from being in the same position I'm in. I can't leave a review on their FB page, as it is disabled but this is a place I've recommended before and brought people to and want to warn others about. Now, I'm super on top of cleaning my hands and everything because I don't want to contract anything that could potentially hurt or cause a problem. I've never had a situation where my skin has turned green. Which leads me to believe that they're not sterilizing their tools correctly, especially during Covid. It's gross. So I called the nail salon concerned. Which the man asked me to come in so he could look at my nail. When I arrived I kept my voice low to not disturb any customers and told the lady at the counter what had happened. Where she advised me to put Neosporin on it and the best that they could do for me would be to discount my nails the next time I come in. I asked for a refund, with me being as far along as I am during my pregnancy I don't think I would like to take my business back to the place that caused a problem like this to occur on my finger. My thought process being if it happened this time it can happen again. I tipped the woman who did my nails in cash and would never ask for a tip to be returned- I work in the service industry. She giggled at me and said it wouldn't be fair to the salon to give me a refund. She told me she picks at her cuticles and has had that happen and said that's what happens when you pick at your fingers. Which I explained to her I did no such thing and didn't appreciate her trying to say I picked at my nails and caused it. When what really happened was the tool got too close, made a cut and the bacteria from it spread to my finger. The entire time I was kind, just concerned about my finger/the sterilization that they do. Again not one to make a scene. If I spend $50, not including the tip I gave the woman, I expect my nails to be to my liking without the fear of an infection starting on my finger. They showed no care, no apology, went immediately into blaming me and telling me what I was asking was unfair. I went in to have a clean and relaxing experience. So now I'm taking it to social media to warn anyone else that if they choose to get their nails done at Boutique Nails, if a knick occurs make sure you clean your hands like crazy, tell them immediately or it's your fault if something shows up after a couple of days and not to expect them to care if it turns green. read more

Wow what a disappointment! After months of looking at the amazing pictures they post on Facebook I finally took the 45 minute drive to trinity to try this place. I wish I hadn't, I could have received the same (if not better) from any random place in the mall. First impressions are everything to me and as soon as I walked in I noticed the waiting area for customers had tattered and torn chairs. I had time to notice this because 2 of the employees were too busy giving each other a pedicure to even greet me. After requesting a shellac manicure I was taken to my seat and given an impressive display of gel polish colors. Only the color I asked for was deceiving because they had polished the display at least 5-6 times and the color came out MUCH LIGHTER on my hands. To try to appease me the nail tech put a darker shade over top which instead just made my nails look black. The color also seeped on to my cuticle and surrounding skin. No hand massage at the end either, instead she rubbed cuticle oil all over my fingers for that refreshing oily feeling! The place looked dingy, there was crusty nail dust and dried acrylic on all of the glass top desks, there was even nail dust on the bowl she gave me to soak my fingers in, and the UV dryer I had to stick my hand in was absolutely repulsive. When I got there I told him I wanted my toes done instead of my nails and they insisted that I got my nails done so be in the person I am I got my nails done instead. Wall drilling my current set that I had he said I'm going to cut these nails off and just reapply a tip and before I could even say anything he took a pair of scissors and cut my finger nails off and remove them for no reason necessary my nail was not sick and then he went ahead and continue to file my nails which he file to deep in one of my nails and it burned me and then I had told him multiple times that he was hurting me with the drill in the nail file that he was burning me with it and was cutting me with it and then I told him the shape was uneven three times and he created a U-shaped in the middle of my finger nail and I got to the point that I told him that I was not going to continue my service with them and I wanted to leave it then told me it would be $35 and I told him there's no way I'm gonna pay for that I could speak to a manager and he caught an attitude he goes yeah go ahead go talk to a manager then didn't tell me where the manager was didn't try to get me a manager I went and had to look for one by myself and then when I finally got a manager she told me to be $30 and that's what they charge for acrylic Phils and told me she would give me $10 off and I told her I was not going to pay $20 for it and she turns around and says well for acrylic pills it's $25 I said if it's $25 then why are you tell me I need to pay 30 and she turns around and says because it's gel there's no gel polish on my fingers he literally did nothing but fill them and cut me so the man got paid $15 in America was rude and just got a put the five dollar in my head and walked away and didn't say nothing else to me I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. Service really depends on the day, I went there earlier this month and was THRILLED (the pink and baby blue set) John took his time and was super thorough and friendly. They're exactly what I wanted and look so much like the reference photo. I went back today asking for a removal/full set looking for the same ombré technique for the black to blue set and I left feeling like a child had playtime on my hands... they're bumpy and uneven, they're bright sparkly blue and the underside of the nails look gross and that's why I asked for a removal/full set was to avoid having mix and match bottoms. He showed me a beautiful blue gel and matching acrylic powder that I agreed to, but instead wanted to rush through a full instead of doing a removal and starting fresh and he ended up using some weird blue sparkle powder on a FILTHY sponge that I watched the woman working next to him use on her client moments before he used it. Beautiful space but terrible nail service. I got acrylics done from another nail salon and I wanted them soaked off and to have dip polish put onto my natural nails (which had grown out quite nicely underneath the acrylic) They did not soak them off they literally ripped each nail off (which was a $10 charge) when I could have done that from home. Before she began taking off. my nails she cut them all short (both the acrylic with my real nail underneath) to the point where all my nails (with the acrylic still on it) was cut right to my finger. Not only was it super painful when she started ripping the nail off, it also left red dots underneath my nail (I think it's blood from the nail lifting) and really damaged my nails. Then she says "are you sure you want dip powder, your nails are really short"... they weren't until she continuously kept cutting them to get them short so she could lift them with her nail and rip it off... I ended up just leaving. I was charged $10 for her damaging my nails. Didn't file them or anything - literally just ripping off my nails and damaging them. 10/10 would not recommend this place. read more

Recently moved to Trinity and this place is close. The tech did an ok job but the fact that that don't include cuticle cutting with the gel/seaweed manicure irked me. My old place always did cuticles with the gel or seaweed. But what really upsets me is that I also had my eyebrows done. It was getting later and close to closing time, I get it. But I made sure when I checked in that there was enough time. I was assured there was. Anyway, I felt rushed and left my custom made/red powder coated (Wonder Woman symbol, you'd have to be a fan to recognize it immediately) Yeti water cup on the nail techs desk. When they rushed me through checkout I almost left and realized. I went to go get it and it was gone. I looked around. The girl pointed to a shelf with left-behind water bottles but it wasn't there. Someone who knew what it was took it. And everyone acted dumb. It was very sentimental as it was a gift. I know it can be replaced but it will never be the first one gifted to me by someone who loves me very much and knows my connection to Wonder Woman (might sound silly). I know I left it on the desk. Pedicures here are hit or miss depending on the tech but the staff are often rude. I decided to get dip powder nails done here and they were so horrible I asked for them to be removed immediately. The tech cut my finger which bled with the electric file thing and didn't even clean it. When I told her the nails were too thick and lumpy she said the powder was bad. I got a full set of gel acrylics a couple of months ago. At least I thought I did!... I kept asking the lady " this is gel you are putting on?" She said " yes". So I believed her.. I asked her a few more times the same question and got the same answer.. It was gel acrylic!.. I just didn't believe her since I had already had regular acrylic years ago.. Well, I have been scammed .... By doing my own research I found out that they were just PLAIN OLD ACRYLIC!!! The only thing that is gel is the polish which keeps the rest of the nail to hold up... They will try to upgrade your service without telling you to charge more. I asked if the tech could do a quick pedi in 45-50 minutes, yes she said, she proceeded to very roughly give me the pedi. I sat it out because I asked for quickness until she stabbed me with the tool. Then she polished my nails and used the uv light to dry, I didn't think anything of it because I thought she was trying to speed the drying process. it wasn't until I got to the cashier(owner wife) that she tried charging me almost 50 dollars. I was shocked and stated I only asked for basic pedi 3 times. she said oh no she do gel. you know cause she used drying light. We went together and I was very impressed with the friendly staff, very wide selection of color in polish, gel, dip, & bio-seaweed gel (my newest obsession.) The pedicure chairs they use are incredible. I feel like I'm getting a real massage. The actual pedicure is amazing! And very sanitary. The staff is very friendly. They sat my friend and I together at both the pedicure and manicure chairs which is a simple thing, but some places don't even care and don't do that! Prices are extremely reasonable.
