While my minor quibble with museums like this and Fondation Louis Vuitton are that the richest people in the world should be able to make admission free, I do enjoy these temples to modern art and capitalism for how specifically they carry out an aesthetic vision. On my last visit to Paris, the Bourse was still under construction and I was glad to be able to finally visit the newly-opened museum on my most recent trip.
There is an Instagram-fodder piece just beyond the first foyer, a mirrored-floor atrium under a glorious skylight that you must wear provided disposable booties to traverse. Admittedly, despite the gimmick, it's a cool piece and a fun collective experience. The collections have your usual blue chip billionaire-faves for people who have lots of money but little taste, however, there are also plenty of pieces by emerging artists from around the world with unique perspectives and real talent.
It's better to buy tickets in advance since the line is still quite long even if you arrive there before opening hour. Bathrooms are super clean and well designed, and the aesthetics are overall impeccable! read more
