I don't give many food trucks five stars. You really have to wow me. After trying this one twice, anywhere I go where they're set up, I'll order from them before anyone else.
Three little words are all that's needed here: Pulled Pork Nachos! You get a lot of food for a cheap price.
Both times I've ordered from them, it has been at the Flea Off Market so I think they're becoming a common vendor there.
The first time my lady love got the pulled pork nachos. They were delicious but she opted to not get all the extras thrown on top of the nachos. Her nachos consisted of chips, pulled pork, cilantro, bbq sauce(sweet), red onions, and melted cheese. They were still delicious and this was after I had just devoured beef nachos from another food truck. My only complaint is with their sweet sauce. It's sweet but it isn't a sauce that makes me want to eat it on everything. That first introduction to them made me want the Highland Taproom's pulled pork nachos.
The second time I had them, I got everything on my pulled pork nachos except for the slaw. My nachos consisted of chips, pulled pork, melted cheese, bbq sauce(spicy), jalapenos, onions, and pickles. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The spicy sauce is definitely the sauce to get. In reading Shelley's review, I see they have spicy and super spicy. I wasn't aware of this so I'm going to ask the next time. These were a perfect sub to Taproom's pulled pork nachos.
In short, I love this truck. The guys working it are nice and the food is great. I haven't tried their pulled pork or brisket sandwich yet but at a moderate $6 price tag, I'll be trying that in the immediate future.
When I'm at the Flea or anywhere else for that matter, if I'm hungry and Bourbon Bent BBQ is there, I'll jump right in line.
Side notes:
-- Ask for a fork.
-- Those nachos are among the best.
-- The line is usually long but it moves fast.
-- The guys running this truck are awesome! read more
