Mr. B. K.

Brought our grandson here, wear your earplugs and don't be adverse to the sounds of screaming kids at the highest decibel levels known to men. Our grandson is 3 and there are NO separate areas fir the 6yrs. and under crowd. The big kids (at least 8, 10 and older) all jump together in the different houses WITH the little kids. Seems dangerous, but I'm an overprotective grandpa. There are several unlocked rooms in rhe back filled w/all kinds of supplies, cleaning and party, old lockers, tables and chairs etc. They're not only unlocked, they're propped open. There was one poor woman working in front, trying to take care of her own kids, the event space and a birthday party that was going on. She was also running the vacuum in the middle of the crowd. WTH? If you come in the morning when it's slow, your kids will have a great time. But on the weekend?? Hard pass. BTW, even though there was a sign on the door telling everyone to wear masks, no one was wearing a mask, even the woman working there.

Doesn't deserve a one star. Our family was invited to a birthday. Little boy from my daughter's pre-k school. The family was told the party would be at 11:30. The place opened at 11am. Unfortunately the place wasn't opened at all. This mom now had to shift to the arcade. It was so hot in there. Mom through the party together bless her heart. The lady from the bounce place came over and claimed she had no party booked at all. Mom literally booked the party on a Thursday in person. The lady didn't seem to even care. Someone else told us that this happens a lot at the bounce house. Just a fyi.

My excitement ended there. When we were checking in, we were offered military discount, yay! They tallied up the total and we paid for it. Then I noticed that there was no military discount added. It should be 10% off of admission. With 2 adults and 2 kids, it should be a little over $4 off. Yes, it's just $4 but everything little bit counts. When I brought it up, she kept saying "oh yea you're right, well you would only be saving $2" and brushed me off. That's not the point. The point is, they said I would get military discount and didn't get it. Also, 10% off of $43 is not $2... American Public education has left another student behind. She said she can't do anything because the manager is not present. Disappointed in the customer service. The lack of training. The lack of basic math. TIP: sign the waiver while waiting in line. New York State Zoo at Thompson Park

Let me start out by saying this is such a cute little zoo. My wife and I are up in the area for our…read morehoneymoon and decided this Zoo would be a fun place to visit. I guess we got lucky, and we actually got free admission due to a company sponsoring the first 100 visitors for the day. It was a cold rainy day so there were not many other visitors at the park with us. It was so neat to see a zoo mostly dedicated to the animals seen in New York State. With it being a rainy, cold day not all of the animals were out, but we were able to see most of them. Our favorite was the Wolverine who was doing lap after lap running around his enclosure. He would stop and say hi to us when we were near the fence, and then continue on doing his laps. We even stopped in the gift shop and got a wolverine stuffed animal. You could definitely tell that it has been some years since the zoo had had some renovations, but I think this is what I liked best about it. The zoo its self was nice and simple with an easy route to see all of the animals. I think if we are in the area again, and it is a nice day out, we would stop again.

The zoo has several different New York wildlife species which are all rescues from various areas. The animals are clearly well taken care of and the staff love them dearly. We appreciated that this was a New York State focused zoo, and we learned a lot about the animals that live around us. There were also many different reptiles including turtles and a snake. We loved the education geared towards the kids, and the entire zoo was decorated for Halloween which was tons of fun. The gift shop had tons of different items. Our favorite animal was the Wolverine, he ran multiple laps and was showing off for us. We had to get a stuffed Wolverine from the gift shop in his honor. We would love to return!

We arrived on a Monday morning, left for lunch, and returned for more play until the museum closed at 4PM. The museum is technically two stories, although the first floor mainly consists of the admissions desk, a small gift shop, and a water play station. Waterproof smocks or covers would have been nice since my son's shirt did get quite wet. There were boats, fishing rods, and cascading channels of water for various kinds of water play. This was a hit with both of my toddlers. The second floor had much more activities. From large and small foam blocks, Magnatiles, a scarf suction pipe/chute, books, light tables, brite light pegs, and a mini spiral climbing structure, to a dentist's office, pizza and salad restaurant, fire truck, tree house, farmers market, farm, toilet to teach plumbing, aluminum recycling, color wheel, and much more, there was a lot for kids of all ages to explore. There was also a small sectioned-off area for 0-2 infants and pre-walkers. The space hosts birthday parties as well as STEM classes. The staff were lovely. We were given a stamp in our hands before we took a break for lunch so that we could re-enter for free that same day. The only complaint I have is that there was less in the way of offering arts and crafts or even free-form drawing. We did not see any parking lot, but took advantage of free 2-hour street parking. This is definitely a great spot for families with young kids in Oswego.

We paid a ridiculous amount of money and didn't get what we paid for...... Also the pizzas they give you for the party are not actual normal sized pizzas they are slightly bigger than a personal pan pizza. But a lot smaller than a medium sized pizza. Definitely not happy with this place.
