    UV LIGHTS
    Kate W.

Excellent craft beer and gin selection! And they have UV lights!! There's more room between the tables than at Bounce Holborn which is great. If you get a graffiti table it's really hard to see the ball though.. Unless the UV lights are on! We ate the pulled pork and spicy pork pizzas. The pulled was a bit bland but the spicy was tasty. The wedges with gorgonzola dip were good too. All in all a great venue!

Top night! Never knew the fascination with table tennis in a bar- many of my friends go to the other bounce and well I thought let's give it a go! I can't sell this place to ya! It was such a blast table tennis mixed in with alcohol and food is available and well if your a novice like me don't panic there is someone there to give you handy tips! But the ultimate thing is your having so much fun and you don't realise the time goes by so quickly! We were fortunate to have a table all night and ended up sharing with another couple luckily people we knew but what a great combo friends drink and table tennis ! This is the future! Oh forgot to mention on an event the queue for the cloak room was really long there was a lot of angry people but the staff I wanna give them a big thumbs up for keeping their cool and trying their best to get everyone's belongings in a timely matter! You guys did a good job and actually all their staff did!

Regardless of your opinion on whether or not ping-pong constitutes a sport, it unquestionably triumphs as an activity exponentially improved with alcohol. Bounce Shoreditch offers both, housing 17 ping-pong tables and a stocked bar with an impressive range of premium gins, craft beers and cocktails. If you work up an appetite on the tables, there is an in-house pizzeria with a tempting menu of thin crust specialties and a restaurant with full table service (no nets on these tables, though). I attended a preview night to view the venue space, sample the food and, naturally, get walloped at ping-pong. The setting is underground and impressively large- walking into the main area, there is enough floor space for a kitchen, bar, communal tables, booths and plenty of room for play. It's trendy, industrial and manic- expect to come into contact with a wayward ball or two- and this energy contributes to the fun. There is a DJ booth and we were treated to some seriously good 90s era tunes on the night. The lights were cut and the serious fun began: everything was suddenly illuminated in a phosphorescent glow. Just when we thought we were ready to call it quits on our table, the prospect of UV ping-pong added a whole new dimension of chaos. The ball catchers darted tirelessly between the players with their nets, keeping everyone's ball bucket filled and the fun going. Pizzas were flying out of the pizza bar, bubbling and delicious. Of these, we sampled a fantastic range, including an excellent Hawaiian, a genuinely spicy pork and fennel, a moreish wild mushroom and a notable margherita. All of the pizzas were generously loaded with toppings and flawlessly crispy without a charred edge in sight. In addition to the pizza, canapés were also circulated: I particularly recommend the Kashmiri chicken on mini popadums, the smoked salmon on rye and the arancini balls- all were tempting enough to stall play for scoffing. We played ping-pong for over an hour before surrendering our table (somewhat begrudgingly). It's an exhilarating group activity, even if had moments of intensity that bordered on violence. Thankfully, we left as friends, had a few drinks at the bar, enjoyed the ambiance and ended the night dancing. Bounce Shoreditch is the second addition to the Bounce franchise and it's the type of venue that you need to experience for yourself. If you're celebrating an occasion, or just on the hunt for a fun post-work retreat, you'll be a hero if you suggest this place. Especially if you get there early enough to play on the 2014 World Championship Final table from Tokyo (yes, it's there).

BOUNCE!! A bar with ping pong tables. You purchase a table for at lease 1 hour and get as many balls as you like in your time. There is bar food which are cheap and yummy. It's a fun night out. Also be careful of the competitiveness of people you come with, they might surprises you. Be careful of random balls hitting you as most people (including myself) are not ping pong experts and some a little drunk. I was hit about a dozen times before I started not counting. There is a private area with UV lighting to make the balls glow in the dark. There is also a free coat check-in place and hooks to hang your bag at tables. Random Fact: There was a guy walking around giving tables smaller and smaller bats. It was fun but also annoying as we only had 1 hour and he took 10 mins of it making us play with his smaller bats. I would definitely go there again

One of the best places to hit on the weekend!

Frickin love this place! So much energy! Music on pic t and just a great place whether with friends or even a date. It was the first place I went to in London when I moved to London and I think it's still one of my fave places to go. Both Shoreditch and Holborn locations are wicked. Bit costly to book a table but no regrets after you ping pong!

Ping pong and alcohol? Perfect! Bounce's new-ish branch by Old Street station has a more chilled out vibe than the original Farringdon branch (this could have been because it was Sunday afternoon - surely that is prime time for ping pong right?). The whole place feels less crammed and therefore more relaxing. Yes when you first see the cost it seems pretty steep but £20 for an hour between 4 (or worst case 2 - at least it'll never be for 1?) for some crazy ping pong fun is a good deal in my opinion! You can book a table for either 30 minutes or 1 hour and of course all bats and balls are provided. There is also a private area with 3-4 tables in which you can hire out. Either way it is great for a post work meet up, a rainy day activity or an event (birthday, work do etc) and let me tell you it gets pretty addictive - the minutes fly by. For those more interested in the food & drink - in need of some courage or dying for some sustenance after all that ping ponging - they have a bar right next to the ping pong table and also serve some pretty decent pizzas (there are real tables for food). This place offers guaranteed fun so get going!

Such a fun place to end the night! Artful and great for rubbing off the rust on your game. Drinks here are terrible though.

Good, a bit sweet. Messy to eat. 3/5 Truffle fries - good but average 4/5 Polenta - very tasty, a must. 3/5 Duck and waffle - I expected this to be bigger but it was good. I normally prefer chicken but the duck wasn't bad. All the food was decent and the staff were all nice. It's unfortunate that the walk to the restaurant passes by the smelly toilets. Also there was only one lift working that day so it took a little time to get up/down.

I've been looking forward to visiting Duck & Waffle for quite some time. The views are incredible,…read morethe space itself is striking, and on paper it promises that perfect London mix of skyline, late-night energy, and elevated comfort food. Unfortunately, our experience was soured before it even had a chance to begin. My girlfriend and I walked in excited, completely amicable, simply hoping to head upstairs for a bite and drinks. We were greeted by the doorman with an immediate, dismissive "Are you good?" -- not in a welcoming or helpful tone, but in a way that felt skeptical and unnecessarily confrontational. There was no warmth, no "welcome in," no attempt at hospitality. It immediately set an uncomfortable tone. He then proceeded to call upstairs as though he were doing us some sort of favor just by allowing us to go up. The entire interaction felt transactional and judgmental rather than gracious. First impressions matter, especially at a place that positions itself as a premium dining destination. Hospitality begins at the door, not at the table. When we finally made it upstairs, the room was filled with visibly drunk, rowdy groups -- which only made the earlier attitude feel even more misplaced. If that environment is acceptable (and profitable), then two polite guests looking for drinks and food shouldn't be met with suspicion at the entrance. By that point, the damage was done. The initial interaction had already rubbed us the wrong way, and the energy upstairs didn't help. We ultimately decided to leave before even sitting at our table. That's how strongly the first impression impacted us. It's difficult to justify staying somewhere when you don't feel genuinely welcomed from the outset. Duck & Waffle has the potential to be memorable for all the right reasons. But someone representing the brand at the very front needs to understand that hospitality isn't optional -- it's foundational. A simple, respectful welcome would have changed everything. I hope management takes this seriously, because no guest should feel judged or dismissed before they even step inside.

We had a party of 13 so I understand there would be somewhat of a wait and that the whole Dining experience might take a while. We dined on a Tuesday night and the place was quite busy! It took at least 30 minutes from sitting down to get our drinks and another 10 on top of that for them to bring out some bottles of water. It seemed like our server was training someone new. They could have been more efficient, but it took a long time for them both to go around the table and enter in our orders. We were at a work after hours function so we all ordered from the 3 courses for 45 quid option. All of the starters sounded good, but I was slightly disappointed in the drunken dumplings as there were only 2, but the presentation was cool with them pouring the broth into the bowl at the table. I wish I had ordered the cheddar and shrimp toasties as they looked quite good! This place has awesome & fun cocktails, hence the Alchemist name. I didn't realize this at first so ordered a Mai Tai which was not nearly as exciting as some of what my colleagues ordered. Second time around I ordered the red zombie which came out smoking with a test tube vial of absinthe to add in! Definitely cool, but also a bit strong. I had the ribeye steak for my main. It was delicious! The cauliflower and potatoes very good too. Had the next level chocolate brownie for dessert. My only thought is it could have used a bigger scoop of ice cream compared to the size of the brownie but it was delicious! So good, in fact, that I had to finish every last crumb. The ambiance was nice. The bathroom was clean, but a little hard to locate. All in all, I would definitely come back if in the area again.

I got the cocktail which was the first on the menu and it was called Frothy Lady (I think). Very sweet and hardly tasted the alcohol. The espresso cocktail tasted great too but couldn't taste the alcohol. So it got me wondering if they were being stingy or were they just really good. The jalapeño pretzels were really nice and the olives had too much lemon on them for my liking but I was hungry so ate them all anyway.
