My oldest son will be 4 in August and my youngest just turned 2. Both started in the infant room and progressed through the rooms as they aged up. At this point, there are only two rooms we haven't been in yet (they're the pre-k rooms). We've loved every room and all the teachers we've had and so have our boys. They create a special bond with the teachers in each classroom, yes even the infant room (they still love to stop and say hi to her)! A lot of days, when I pick them up, my oldest will exclaim how much he misses his teacher and can't wait to see him tomorrow. Over the years, the things they've shown us or told us they learned at school amazes us. When my oldest first sang his ABCs it wasn't because of us, but them. What I love the most about the curriculum is HOW they're learning. At a glance, it just looks like innocent play (and let's be real, kids need to just play sometimes and there's plenty of that); but, they're learning so many things while they're playing. The concept of in and out, on and off, opposites, colors, shapes, SIGN LANGUAGE, the outdoors, sports, etc. Really, the list could keep going. The owners and staff are great communicators, diligent and detail-oriented. It's always felt clean, safe and welcoming. It will be a sad day when our kiddos completely age out of Goddard.

Every morning he just feels like going to another home away from home. His vocabulary as well as math has improved a lot after joining goddard. They are very approachable and friendly not to mention they make sure they greet you every morning. We are so happy we found this preschool!

We had a great experience *virtually* touring the site. Anna was very friendly and thorough during a time when we weren't able to meet with her easily in person. We had a follow-up tour on site and we got to see the school and I was so impressed to see all the teachers interacting with the kids. I remember seeing one teacher with two or three kiddos on her lap reading a book. I just loved seeing that unexpected sweet moment. You could really see that the kids trust and love their teachers. Our daughter was a little over 1 year old when she started and both she and I had some big emotions around starting a new daycare. Right off the bat, we appreciated the transparency and communication throughout the day. I know when my child has an "off" day and I love seeing photos of her interacting with the teachers and kids throughout the day. Their program infuses a lot of diverse learning opportunities and languages. I really can tell my child is loved at her school! I feel very grateful.

For the price, we were displeased with the amount of off days during the year, no provided food, and shorter hours compared to other schools. However, our decision to go elsewhere was based off a program that felt much more personable. We unfortunately missed the window to get our $2,225 deposit back by a week. The director had 0 leeway on this policy and you can imagine how heartbreaking it is to be out this money as a brand new family. The school's focus on profit and lack of empathy reassured us that we made the right decision. Shame on us for not communicating sooner and shame on them for profiting off new families trying to navigate the daycare system. The director offered a credit but we will not be sending our daughter somewhere that focuses more on money than the wellbeing of our family and child.

This was very uncharacteristic of her. One Monday, at pick up my daughter was the only child left and I found her in a corner by herself crying. I was unable to settle her or get her to stop crying until after we got home that night. The teacher told me that my daughter was isolated like that after the other children had been picked up to work on 'regulating her emotions' (at just over a year old?). On Wednesday that week, when I picked her up, she was hysterical (again, this is very unlike her at home or in previous daycare). There was another child still in the class and a second teacher present this time. When I went to lift her up, the teacher told me that my daughter's hair was wet because "she needed to be spritzed a couple of times to help her regulate her emotions when she would not stop crying." I then noticed that her hair was soaked. I looked at the teacher in shock and she pointed at the wall where several spray bottles were hanging up and she stated that "some kids actually like being sprayed." I left immediately to gather myself and calm my child. I then emailed the director and requested an immediate meeting. We requested that a letter be sent to families of other children that could have also been treated this way by their teacher. Since a letter has yet to come out, and may never, I feel responsible to share our story with others. This is especially important since children in these classrooms aren't yet able to communicate these things with us. Ultimately, we lost trust in the school. Felt like there is a big miss here in terms of teacher education and general oversight in the classrooms. We pulled our daughter out. She has since joined a new daycare and is thriving. I am hopeful that the state licensing agency can help the school to reach the standard of other Goddard schools that we have previously known and loved.

The teachers seems to absolutely love babies and have taught me things about infant care. I look forward to him growing up at the school. The kids in the older classrooms seem so happy every day. They literally run into the school with huge smiles on their faces. I love that they have a curriculum and teach the kids about science, art and music. The kids also seem to learn great social skills and how to work and play in groups. I am so happy we found a place where I know my son is safe, happy, and learning. Three weeks prior to her expected start date, I called the school asking if they had openings with the toddler classroom. They did, and when they asked what days she would be attending, I asked if they could do a variable three days throughout the week. This is due to the fact that my wife works three days a week as a nurse, but her days aren't set. The school responded that they could accommodate this. The following week, I went in for the tour. During the interview, I again mentioned that we would need the variable scheduling, and was again reassured that they could make it work. We then toured the facility. The facility is fine, and the teachers seemed fine. The toddler room's floor was a little dirty, and the kids were all running around with runny noses... but it is a toddler room with 10 kids, so it is about what I would expect. At this point I was excited to enroll my daughter, and was told that they had some other families looking at the spot in the classroom. My wife and I decided quickly, and by the next morning we had given the Goddard School signed paperwork, and a check for their 'non-refundable' deposit and payment for the first week of care. A few days later, my wife also went in to the school for a tour, and was again told they could accommodate the schedule, although the Director (Marissa) was beginning to grow a little wishy washy about having our daughter attend on Fridays. Still, we felt good, and began filling out the paperwork and purchasing the items that the school requested (lunchbox, bottles, crib sheets, shoes, etc.). We also began migrating our daughter onto their schedule (one nap a day, no bottles, etc.). Finally, on a Saturday night, two days before my daughter is expected to begin at the school, we receive an email from Marissa, the Director, that some of their current families changed their schedule and would no longer be able to have our daughter attend their school. There was no mention of returning our money. Yes, after a three week process of five or six separate reassurances, after we paid and visited twice, after we stopped looking at other schools and canceled our previous childcare arrangements, and only two days prior to when we were supposed to begin, sent with an email to us on the weekend with no one to speak to.... we were told to go pound sand. So, can I recommend the Goddard School? Of course not, because the sheer administrative incompetence, horrible customer service, unprofessional communication and second class treatment never allowed my family to see the school we paid to see. I hope that the teachers and the curriculum are great for you if you try to enroll your child here, but be forewarned that it could be your family that is hung out to dry in the future.

We were regularly asked to keep him home or pick him up early due to understaffing (we were offered a tuition reduction to do so -- but the was amount significantly less than what we paid per day). There was also a high pressure to accept the offer as declining seemed to raise questions about his safety and care on those days. He was also frequently sent home even when he had no fever or other symptoms - regularly surprising our pediatrician and other parents in my community. I think these constant disruptions meant he never really got the chance to settle into his environment and feel fully comfortable there. Since switching childcare providers, he's thrived in a way that made it clear how much those interruptions and low staffing had been holding him back. I think the teachers genuinely did their best with the resourcing they had - but at the end of the day, they can only do so much. As working parents, the constant unpredictability also made Goddard incredibly hard to manage logistically. If you have a flexible schedule, it might work fine for you. For us, the lack of stability was tough on us emotionally as two parents who want the best for their kid as well as two people who care about their careers who needed a reliable solution for childcare. Goddard did not fulfill the needs on either end of the spectrum. I am so grateful for our new situation that is welcoming to my my son, us as parents and has reintroduced a more stable environment for our careers so we can provide for our family.

The care team here has taken excellent care of our children and prepared them for kindergarten with a effective pre-K curriculum. We have seen continuous literacy development with both kids. All of the teachers have degrees in early childhood education (or equivalent) and it shows. I have always had total confidence in the quality of care at this facility. In addition, David and Allison have fostered a genuine community here...we were there from the start and watched it develop organically. Unlike other daycares we have dealt with, we have seen limited turnover and we have seen some truly great caregivers stay around for the long haul - of particular note are Ms. Eileen, Ms. Liz, Ms. Chelsea, Ms. Alexis and others. When COVID came along, the school adapted thoughtfully to reduce risks and control spread of illness. They provided daily communications regarding active testing, health department guidance, etc. The result was everyone in our family stayed healthy for a year even with daily attendance of a 4-year-old. The facility was completely remodeled before opening and retains the character of the previous use (a school gym). Big windows are everywhere and the building is maintained in a very clean and secure manner. They have a big outdoor play area that is also very secure. I am confused how any reasonable person could complain about this building. We will miss this community when our daughter heads off for summer camp and kindergarten next month. This environment is hard to beat from a quality and value perspective.

Eagerly, we paid the $150 deposit and looked forward to enrolling our children. However, 12 months later, there was no progress on the waiting list, and we were still told we were "about six months out." At this rate, our kids will be in high school before they're admitted We connected with other local families who shared similar experiences and assumed the school was simply overwhelmed. However, we discovered one family, who happened to be friends with David, and they experienced virtually no wait time to enroll their 3-year-old in the school. Regrettably, we lost our $150 deposit and decided to move on. One point to consider is that the owners, Allison and David, had no early childhood education experience prior to opening this franchise location. On the surface, it appears they run the school more like a business than a service to the community. Think twice before handing over your $150 deposit.
