Kid City in Longmont has been an absolute lifesaver! We moved to Colorado without knowing the area…read moreor anyone around. We toured several schools for our Littles and there was no doubt about it that Monica, the Director, runs an incredible program. The length of time that teachers stay there says everything you need to know. Our one year-old had never been in a daycare center, and we were very concerned about his transition. The teachers in his room were so loving and welcoming, it made such an easy transition. The teachers in the threes room were equally as caring and wonderful. They are so great about posting pictures and sending home art on special days. The teachers surprised us with an amazing birthday project for daddy. I truly feel that Monica went above and beyond in any way she could to help us feel comfortable with registration, starting the new school, even providing two uniform shirts to help us start out. Unfortunately, because of our relocation, we had to leave the school and it was the hardest decision to pull them away. Any kiddo and their parents would be lucky to have their kids at Kid City Colorado!

My 14-month-old daughter used to attend Goddard School Erie at Vista Ridge. She was often crying at…read morepick up and shaking her head 'no' and crying at drop off with the teacher. This was very uncharacteristic of her. One Monday, at pick up my daughter was the only child left and I found her in a corner by herself crying. I was unable to settle her or get her to stop crying until after we got home that night. The teacher told me that my daughter was isolated like that after the other children had been picked up to work on 'regulating her emotions' (at just over a year old?). On Wednesday that week, when I picked her up, she was hysterical (again, this is very unlike her at home or in previous daycare). There was another child still in the class and a second teacher present this time. When I went to lift her up, the teacher told me that my daughter's hair was wet because "she needed to be spritzed a couple of times to help her regulate her emotions when she would not stop crying." I then noticed that her hair was soaked. I looked at the teacher in shock and she pointed at the wall where several spray bottles were hanging up and she stated that "some kids actually like being sprayed." I left immediately to gather myself and calm my child. I then emailed the director and requested an immediate meeting. We requested that a letter be sent to families of other children that could have also been treated this way by their teacher. Since a letter has yet to come out, and may never, I feel responsible to share our story with others. This is especially important since children in these classrooms aren't yet able to communicate these things with us. Ultimately, we lost trust in the school. Felt like there is a big miss here in terms of teacher education and general oversight in the classrooms. We pulled our daughter out. She has since joined a new daycare and is thriving. I am hopeful that the state licensing agency can help the school to reach the standard of other Goddard schools that we have previously known and loved.

My kids have been going here since they were under 2 years old. Both are currently 4 years of age…read more My kids father had to pick up my kiddos today at lunch time due to my daughter crying and having a temper tantrum( like most kids do). Then when I meet my kids father he tells me the new director Jasmine told him my kids can not come back because of them crying. I have been there for a long time now and ever since Genesis the old director left, there has been nothing but problems. Over the last month I have been told that my kids couldn't be there due to not having their inhalers that were not expired. Ok, fine. Took me a week to get them. So thats a week they weren't in their care. Then I get them and give them to the school the exact way I received them, only to be called and told to come get my kids due to the boxes not having the labels on them. Ok, called the pharmacy and had to have them printed so the kids could go back to school. Another day out. Then they are there for a week and this is what happens today. Aren't you the ones who should k ow how to calm a tantrum? Don't you're employees go to school and get training on how to handle a tantrum? Then, when I speak to the new director she tells me, " oh I know, I'd be mad too if I was being told this as a parent." Then when asked if they tell all the parents there that they're kids can't be there if they're crying, Jasmine states we are not able to handle it." I am beyond mad and will admit that I did fly off the handle a bit. This place has gone to crap.

The first time I ran into them I got onto the fishing lake and all was quiet. They came later and all got in and proceeded to run right over where I was casting. One of them even bumped into me without any apology. The whole lake and they picked the one spot I was fishing in. Today there's 14 kids and adults out running amok and screaming across the lake. I'm not sure if the staff realizes that there's a whole lake dedicated to kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and NOT fishing. In the same park.
