I can't speak…read moreto birthday parties, but the summer camps (and the virtual camps during COVID-19 shutdowns) have been excellent. Both my children have attended Mad Science camps during summer. The camps have been organized, safe, and my kids have enjoyed them. I saw one review mentions an issue with the adult:student ratio, but our experience has been that there are always 2 adults (teacher and assistant) with no more than 12 students K-5. They've attended more than 15 camps and all the teachers and assistants have been good. One time, summer camp was canceled due to low enrollment, but it was not a surprise. Bronwyn from sales reached out in advance to let me know it was possible, and when it was canceled I received a full refund. Obviously, it's not financially sustainable for them to host a camp with 2 adults and 3 kids, so I understood and appreciated their transparency. Right now, Colorado has a "stay at home" executive order, and all schools are closed so I'm working full-time from home with a 1st grader and a 2nd grader. Mad Science to the rescue! They are offering 2 virtual classes each day. The price is affordable, and since I registered in advance they delivered the materials to my doorstep. I also misunderstood and thought they'd provide all printouts, which I needed since our printer ink won't arrive until later this week. Samy (the owner) dropped those off, as well. The classes are really engaging, and it allows me 2+ hours each day to get focused work done. Bottom line is Mad Science Colorado has great teachers, great camps, great classes, and great customer service.

I love the class format, the energy of the teachers (we love Miss Domenique!), and the other kids. Timmy's gross motor skills have improved so much since starting this class. He can usually sit thru the whole circle group now and has learned the songs and routine. My only critique is that they offer one free class to interested families, so sometimes the class is full of kids who just come for the freebie and never come back. And it can get crowded (although they cap the class at around 12 kids). I wonder if it's possible to host special free classes on nights there aren't regular classes....

They know how to play them and the toddlers get to touch the instruments and strings. Movement and props are involved in the songs. Also unique to this studio is having drop-in or discounted pre-pay options to participate (my distance is a 25 min commute). Our kids have been going to camp here for the past few years. It's hands down their favorite part…read moreof the summer. They get to ride horses, mountain board, do archery, swim, hike and more. The owners Lynn and Mike are incredibly easy to work with. All the staff are well trained and very attentive to the children and help stretch their comfort zone in fun challenging activities. This year camp was cancelled due to COVID-19. As an alternative, CMR has been hosting single family activities to ensure social distancing. We took the opportunity to do this and we had a blast. As parents, we really didn't know much about how the kids spent their time on the ranch. Spending time up there made me feel like a kid again. The staff made the whole experience fun and easy. The measures that CMR are taking to reduce exposure to the virus are as good as any place I've seen. They sanitize every piece of equipment and touch point between each family and keep the flushies sparkling. Oh and hundreds of acres to spread out the guests. After several months of quarantine and more to come, CMR's 2020 family program was much needed. It's also worth mentioning that various special needs grants and scholarships will cover the family program.

The care team here has taken excellent care of our children and prepared them for kindergarten with a effective pre-K curriculum. We have seen continuous literacy development with both kids. All of the teachers have degrees in early childhood education (or equivalent) and it shows. I have always had total confidence in the quality of care at this facility. In addition, David and Allison have fostered a genuine community here...we were there from the start and watched it develop organically. Unlike other daycares we have dealt with, we have seen limited turnover and we have seen some truly great caregivers stay around for the long haul - of particular note are Ms. Eileen, Ms. Liz, Ms. Chelsea, Ms. Alexis and others. When COVID came along, the school adapted thoughtfully to reduce risks and control spread of illness. They provided daily communications regarding active testing, health department guidance, etc. The result was everyone in our family stayed healthy for a year even with daily attendance of a 4-year-old. The facility was completely remodeled before opening and retains the character of the previous use (a school gym). Big windows are everywhere and the building is maintained in a very clean and secure manner. They have a big outdoor play area that is also very secure. I am confused how any reasonable person could complain about this building. We will miss this community when our daughter heads off for summer camp and kindergarten next month. However, we discovered one family, who happened to be friends with David, and they experienced virtually no wait time to enroll their 3-year-old in the school. Regrettably, we lost our $150 deposit and decided to move on. One point to consider is that the owners, Allison and David, had no early childhood education experience prior to opening this franchise location. On the surface, it appears they run the school more like a business than a service to the community. Think twice before handing over your $150 deposit.

But more than once they've come to the fishing lake instead of the recreation lake and bring with them a dozen screaming out of control kids. One of them even bumped into me without any apology. The whole lake and they picked the one spot I was fishing in. Today there's 14 kids and adults out running amok and screaming across the lake. I'm not sure if the staff realizes that there's a whole lake dedicated to kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and NOT fishing. In the same park. One where you can scream as loud as you want and not bother fishermen. The fishing lake is supposed to be for people to enjoy fishing. If I see these guys on the water, I just turn around and go home or don't even bother fishing. Such a nuisance. Sorry for the one star review. The camp experience is probably great.
