Still have respect for the medical aesthetic team here, however, talking to them is almost impossible if you don't have the patience of a saint. Calling the main phone number is like calling Comcast for customer service. "Nicole", the receptionist, isn't a native English speaker, which is fine, however, she takes it upon herself to engage you in a huge convo that could last 5 minutes, going so far as to give military code names for each letter of your e-mail address to 'verify' the office has your correct info. This was about the third time I've had to speak to Nicole and I lost it today when she started going through the letters of my e-mail addie. Unfortunately, this practice no longer submits acne facials to insurance and the cost is high out-of-pocket. Too high for us unfortunately. BVDerm admin - please - if you can, please let Nicole know she can quit all the minute details and doesn't have to practice her English every time an established patient calls for information on a treatment. my first experience with Dr. Gallagher was when his office was in foothills Hospital. I went to every dermatologist in Boulder County in order to find one that could help me with my hormonal cystic acne. Dr. Gallagher insisted it was rosacea and prescribed me all kinds of things rather than Accutane, which is what I wanted. I was an older person in my late 30s. He told me I didn't wanna go through all of that. So when I got referred to Boulder Valley Center for dermatology by my primary care giver and realized it was the new name for Dr. Gallagher's office, I was a little sketched out but thought maybe he's better than I thought he was. I asked my PCP to find someone else to refer me to, but I guess all of the local derms were filled up. I also thought it was a little fishy that he had so many locations in the area. I must say, that's how I first felt about Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology. Primarily because of my very first experience with Dr. Gallagher. And secondly, for all of the other experiences I had with his staff. In fact, in my more recent experiences with this "Doctor" I had a large cyst removed from my body and had really bad swelling and reactions due to more than likely the inexperience of the dermatologist who performed the removal in office. I have a giant dent in the location where it was removed. it's been many years now. I called for multiple days after the excision about my fear and what was happening to the area around the former lesion and no one called me back. It was as though they didn't care that my area could've been paralyzed due to the inexperience and failure to properly handle the situation. I spoke with multiple surgeons regarding the outcome of who told me it was an ineptitude, as well as commenting on the large hole in my body, where they removed the spot. I decided not to return there ever again after having a visit and requesting a refill that I was told would be called in, but it wasn't. I called and asked about the refill upon realization I had none left and I was told I had to reschedule have an appointment just to get the refill. More than once, they double charged me for a co-pay, and I had to reach out to them and request that it be returned to me. I'm pretty sure that had I not noticed I would've never gotten that money back. In my opinion, any dermatologist office that deals with someone who has a visible skin condition, but can't have the sympathy and or empathy to do what they said they would do and request more money just to give that person who had just given them a prescription to assist in that visible condition, and yet has multiple locations and most pulling in at least six figures a year for each of the alleged dermatologists that they employ ultimately deserves to be tarred and feathered, and have their doors shuttered and closed forever. read more

Do NOT schedule an appointment with Ryan Bird PA-C. He had very poor, snarky bedside manner throughout the entire appointment. He only spent six minutes in the room total, speeding through the entire exam and speaking so quickly I could barely keep up, and was extremely condescending towards me whenever I answered his questions. At one point I asked him a clarifying question about something he found, and he said, "Yes, that's why I said it." He left the room before I could ask him any questions, so I had to ask the technician who was very nice and appeared to be the only one who cared about my case. He also did not tell me any of his findings and whispered them to his technician. So I don't even know what he saw on my body. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I am a doctor and if I treated any of my patients this way, I would get chewed out immediately. I am sure that the rest of the other practitioners are great, but make sure not to see him! read more

Dr Gallagher and his team answered all my questions and concerns in a friendly, professional way. Zoe and her assistant were nice but I felt rushed through my appointment. It had been a while since my last visit so I had some questions about what topicals would be best for my skin. I was encouraged to go through my list of questions while Zoe was checking my skin which was difficult for me because I couldn't fully listen to her answers. I mentioned that I wanted to take notes but since I couldn't, Zoe asked her assistant to take notes. Her assistant didn't write down the prescription Zoe recommended. I forgot Zoe mentioned the prescription so when I was picking up another prescription at the pharmacy, I didn't know what the prescription was for (and it was over $80 with insurance) so I refused it. Now after taking a picture of the prescription at the store and researching it online, I remember what it's for. I wish I had more time after my exam to ask Zoe questions and write down her answers. This is why I'm giving three stars. I'm guessing that Zoe was short with me because she felt rushed to do a skin exam, answer my questions and get to her next patient on time. I still don't understand why I couldn't ask my questions after the exam. I felt so unimportant. How long was my exam supposed to be? I was at my appointment on time and didn't have to wait in the waiting room. I left a message with the office manager. Hopefully I'll get some answers. I would like to schedule another appointment but not if I'm going to feel rushed again. I feel so relaxed with my other providers. They take time to listen to me, answer my questions, and allow me to take notes. read more

(Zoe) Misdiagnosed my condition for allergies and had me taking way too much antihistamines which were making me sick and not solving the skin disorder I was having. When I informed that pa that it wasn't working and my skin condition was getting worse she told me to take more antihistamines? I got a second opinion and it turns out my condition was more serious than an allergy and didn't need antihistamine. Then the office manager called me completely apathetic and did not care that I was misdiagnosed and didn't even apologize and just asked if I'd like my next appointment canceled? Unbelievable. She was the 4th dermatologist I have seen in the last two years for a post covid Condition on my head and skin Of my entire body. Of my entire body. She offered me no diagnosis. And her response was she doesn't have an answer for me today. After having to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor, for 2 reasons that I scheduled the appointment for (which the call center assured me would be done). One, for a diagnosis so that I may be able to proceed with a procedure the next visit, and two, for a total skin check. What did I end the appointment with? One, no diagnosis, I still need to schedule another consultation appointment for it, and THEN get the procedure done 2 appointments later (the call we had prior to scheduling the first time was very different). And two, no skin check, the excuse is that they were tight on time, and the doctor only saw me for 5 minutes... while they billed my insurance hundreds and wish to do that again soon, with 2 other appointments that are completely unnecessary. So what happened? They just want me to schedule as many visits possible, and spend the least amount of time on me. They're a fraudulent albeit polished operation (which is worse than being an obviously-fraudulent operation). Honestly, places as these is the entire reason why healthcare in the USA is so inefficient and expensive. Rest assured I'm posting this review elsewhere. (also worth mentioning that Jenna and the woman at the front desk at the time are both really sweet people and incidentally have nothing to do with this, I haven't met with Dr. Gallagher yet, but I'm going to and heard great things about him. With being absent from the practice for about 11 years, I decided to give them another try...big mistake. Dr. Leddon lacks all empathy for her patients. Her bedside manor is stale, condescending and rude, she talks AT you rather than with you. I was seen for new cystic acne on my face and described a lump under my skin, SHE DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH ME, in fact she kept a gap of about 3 feet and didn't budge. No exam, absolutely nothing. She pushed pills and abruptly walked out of the room. After the appointment, I remembered why I never went back to her. Specifically for the above reasons and not to mention her judgmental manor. Side note: I'm management in a medical office, I know what patient care is and she lacks it completely. The rest of the staff were all kind, respectful and professional. Terrible service here. I called everywhere asking if they accept Medicaid and they said they did. Went in to see if they can do anything about my cysts and the doctor just looked and said they couldn't do anything and I wasn't even there for 10 minutes. A month later I got a bill for $130 even though they said they accept Medicaid. I'm pretty sure that is illegal as well claiming they accept Medicaid. I am going to file an appeal for this and see what happens. This place is unjust and don't care for their patients. read more

I've been very pleased with the care I've received by Dr. Leddon and the staff. I have a history of skin cancer so it's very important that my skin examinations are thorough. (I'd been to another practice for 12 years and left because the doctor became so hasty). Dr. Leddon is an expert and takes a lot of time to ensure thorough assessments and treatment. Please note that she is reserved/introverted. Some might interpret this as unfriendly, but I don't. She is VERY knowledgeable and I trust that she is making the best recommendations for my care. If you are looking for a warm-fuzzy doctor, go someplace else, but know that you might be compromising on expertise. The staff is professional, courteous and friendly. I have total trust in the care I am receiving and would recommend Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology to anyone who values expert care. read more

Do not go here. They gave me the bare minimum care, from the secretaries to the doctor. I had to literally beg Dr. Hill to give me treatment and I still left with nothing. Throughout my appointment Dr.Hill and her assistant kept opening the door without knocking even when they knew I was changing. They repeatedly pronounced my name wrong. I went in because I have chronic hives and all she said was, "you have hives" and "you should take allergy medicine." I know I have hives, that's why I'm here. I have been taking allergy medicine for a month and it hasn't helped, again that's why I'm here. You're better off looking your symptoms up online and doing your own research than wasting your time and money by coming here. read more

Shout out to Doctor Ericka and her assistant Nicole who removed the cyst at the base of my neck. These two women were wonderful and kept me calm and relaxed during the procedure. We chatted about everything during it which kept my mind off of what was happening. Post surgery recovery was exactly as they had explained it would be and the stitch removal was quick and efficient (done by a nice gentleman whose name I didn't catch, my apologies!). I would highly recommend this center for anyone who needs dermatology care. The biggest downside was how booked they were, getting an appointment took a few weeks and the follow up surgery was an additional five weeks out but truthfully, well worth the wait. I would like to share the truely disappointing experience that I experienced. The negligence, dismissive behavior and lack of care made from a dr. to patient has caused me much anxiety and my skin condition to become more severe affecting my daily life long term. So I made an appointment which was really pressing for me because I was leaving town for two months to take care of my father as he was about to get open heart surgery. The receptionist promised to email, text and leave a voice mail with their new address. I received nothing, called 15x the day of and no one answered the phone. I was 8 minutes late after I finally found the new location and said it would be a quick appointment, that I just have some questions. I sat there for 15 minutes before I was seen. The Dr rushed me through the entire appointment, was cold, not informative, nor did she give me proper care, told me they would give me a print out after I asked. I was cut off and told I couldn't ask another question. I felt greatly disrespected and disregarded. I was perscribed a cream and it took 24 hours to be sent to my pharmacy, then it needed prior authorization for insurance but the Dr. did not give approval in a timely fashion so my insurance could process it. I called 30x over the next four days to get them to call the pharmacy/ insurance so I could avoid paying a large sum of money. No one ever answered or called back until the 3rd day to say they'd try to get the Dr. To call insurance/pharmacy but it takes time for insurance to respond. I got a call on the 4th day, 4 hours before my flight, saying the same thing. No help. I already paid the full amount out of pocket. Icing on the cake, Google gave me more information than the Dr. Easily they could have given me pointers, tips, preventatives to ease my skin condition, lessen it and have it not become so severe. Instead the dr. and the assistant chose to blow me off. The receptionist was kind when I asked again for just 5 more minutes to ask questions and she tried to see if it was possible but my request was denied and I was told to call but they don't pick up....in the end I have experienced more stress, during a stressful time with my family, discomfort and anxiety. A dr. Appointment or client should never be treated this way in any field. read more

Wouldn't recommend, especially if cash patient. I went in for a 2 minute visit with the PA who had a very one-tracked mind, couldn't think of any differential diagnosis other than inflammation, and sent me away with a prescription that unfortunately did nothing. She took no history, asked maybe 2-3 questions, and was done. They made me pay just over $50 at the counter for the appointment for being a cash patient, and I went on my way. A month later, I got another bill from them for $40. I called to try and figure out why, and they had no explanation except maybe the receptionist was having an off day, and didn't bill the proper amount at the time of visit. Don't waste your time. I made an appointment specifically asking for mole removal. Showed up to my appt with Dr. Leddon. She glanced at my moles for one second and then proceeded to tell me it was a normal looking mole and that removal would leave a scar. She seemed very unsympathetic to the fact that I wanted this mole removed and have for quite sometime. I also have one on my face which sometimes bleeds, she looked at it from across the room and said it was also normal. It was clear she did not want to help me remove my moles. I have been going to the Boulder Center for Dermatology since I moved to Colorado. I see Dr. Leddon for my doctor appointments and I see the aesthetician Wendy for all of my acne facials. Dr. Leddon has always been incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and gives great advice on what choices and options you have on dermatology questions. I've gone to see Wendy on multiple occasions: first during my first pregnancy and then many many times after that to keep my skin on a good balance and as clear as possible. She is also incredibly knowledgeable about what products work, what methods are good to use on my specific skin type and she shared with me a product line that I fell in love with and continue to buy from this office called Avene. I would trust Wendy with all of my skin care needs! I absolutely feel welcome every time I go in for an appt, the receptionists are always very friendly and offices very clean. They carry amazing products too! I am so happy I found this amazing team of dermatological and skin care specialists. read more

He said many insurance companies do not cover the majority of the cost but the office sells it at a good rate. So checked with insurance company and could save more by getting it from the doctor office. Went in to get the medication and staff was not happy. Could tell they didn't want to fool with it and told me to sit down it would be a while. No one is in the waiting room. Once this is filled we will not be back. read more

I am not someone who writes reviews but this needs to be said. Worst experience I have ever had at an sort of doctor. Incompetent technicians. Was left waiting with my bum exposed for 15 minutes before the assistant finally came in and then distractedly attempted to talk me through the waiver (which she was filling out as she was explaining it and therefore never once spoke in a complete sentence). She injected the numbing cream too close to my infection so it was insanely painful when it didn't need to be. Absolute idiot. Then a week later I was met with an unexpected bill from LabCorp after they sent my culture off for testing without my knowing. DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRIBLE, INCOMPETENT, UNSYMPATHETIC CLINIC!!! read more
