This review is specifically for the CHaRM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) center that we…read morevisited today but I have used other parts of their system in the past too. We had several pieces of tech accessories to dispose of, outdated and mostly not working either. They were taking up space we needed to clear. We took them out to this facility, near several other facilities they operate. Good website with lots of directions and maps and fee scale. It was easy to find, followed directions out there and turned out to be easier than expected, early on a weekday. There is a fee for entering but only $3.00 and it is added to your bill if you have to pay any fees for what you bring in. We took several pieces for which there was a fee but it is very reasonable at $0.59 per pound and they do not weigh any of the accessory cables. Our pile of an old printer, a flat bed scanner and a wireless router came to only 24 pounds. We will be back another time with a few things that need their hard drives erased beforehand and I believe most of these devices are free to recycle. I will also use the Hazardous Household Recycle location again which I have used more frequently in the past for old paints and yard and household chemicals that are outdated, etc. That location is a block north of this one. It's nice to have a local community facility that will responsibly dispose of these objects. They also provide an option for bulk items, like cardboard, block rigid foam, scrap metal etc. A lot of those are free also. I suspect they are pretty busy on Saturdays and they are not open on Sundays. Better than sending this stuff to a landfill and will accommodate things than cannot go out in curbside residential recycling. We have done the curbside for decades, as long as it has existed in Boulder.

I'm a huge fan of Eco-Cycle and all they do to support our beautiful community. From recycling and…read morecomposting to presence at local events they always have their best foot forward. I've actually had the pleasure to be on the "green team" at Hanuman Yoga Festival for a couple of years as a volunteer. They educated us in a helpful and encouraging way so we could assist event attendees in properly compost, recycle, and discard with care. Contained within it's substantial walls is CHaRM (Center for Hard-to -recycle materials). Here you can properly hand off anything from a fax machine, to paint, to a yoga mat! The cost is often determined by weight so you can feel good letting go of those challenging items without breaking the bank or feeling bad putting it in the regular garbage. Every interaction I have had at their facility or volunteering under their guidance has been a pleasure. I look forward to doing some spring cleaning and visiting Eco-Cycle with items that aren't quite fit for donation.

For 2$ payout I'll just rip the tips off and take them to the Arvada coffee shop for some weird community project instead.

Hello there! So there's a few misconceptions about this…read moreplace (Action Recycling Center) With COVID-19 being in place, their hours have changed like most other places, even big stores such as Walmart. Their hours Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30Pm & Sat 8-4Pm. Also when it comes to closing, like every other place, they ask for people to come 15 minutes before, so don't be that person who shows up last minute. They do have a strict policy as well with masks (it's mandatory). They are pretty nice people too, when you see a person on the street with no mask (nowadays), the average person doesn't just go up and yell at them. They're only asking for us to be considerate, since they are in the heat (or cold) all day long while wearing masks. Plus! Aren't they the ones who are gathering, sorting, and picking up your materials? That takes a toll on one's body, just saying‍ Lastly, when it comes to how clean the place is, it can get dirty yes, but they really do try to keep on top of it Thanks Action Recycling for being open during this pandemic and wish all of you guys well! Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk (Also I've heard some rumors saying how the workers don't respond when us customers are trying to say something, generally because they have earplugs or hard of hearing with the loud blaring equipment constantly running)

Terrific Customer Service. Among the best of any company I deal with. Reliable. Employees are…read morefriendly and efficient. You can get someone on the phone during business hours. I called for a replacement trash cart and it was delivered within hours. The drivers of the trash trucks are very skilled and careful. In addition to the standard carts they will pickup large leaf bags of garden waste and extra large boxes, on appropriate pickup days. They pick up in all weather, almost always on time. They do a difficult job well.

We have had numerous issues with this company. Drivers continually knock the recycling bin over…read morespilling its contents. The worst part is they don't clean up all their mess. We have also had several road reflectors broken when they push the bins into the reflector stands causing them to break. I will say they reimbursed me all three times, but not for my wasted time. Lastly and the final straw is we put the compost into the recycle bin by accident last night. Both the recycling and compost containers are the large brown containers and only the sticker is different. One is labeled compost and the other states recycling. So I called Western this morning and was told that they will not pick it up tomorrow but will schedule this for a different day and charge me for it. I told the lady to forget it and that I will transfer it tonight (I have a large load already to go into the container when emptied tomorrow) and then look for a new waste company. I will probably try to hit at least 4 more sites to spread the word of the unsatisfactory service as well as customer service provided by Western Disposal in Boulder County!
