It took a month to close the finger wound which was not a good outcome of my poor choice. This winter I had a worse but similar insult to the same finger so I did go to the ER and their efficient care of the finger allowed it to heal properly. This time we made the same choice for a smaller ct on a different finger and it has healed extremely well. From the moment I arrived, bloody hand wrapped , I was treated efficiently and politely, from register g window to assessment to treatment. Clerical staff and medical staff are well trained. On 1 visit, I actually needed an MD but the most recent used a PA who did a fine job. The various techs who were used to clean the wounds as well as remove stitches later were also efficient and accurate at task. I am lucky to have this fairly near by, though not as close as when BCH had the facility right in town. Back then it was a much shorter distance for my family, especially when transporting one of my children. But progress requires more and different space and with this facility accessible to a few highways it is better for the greater community that has moved to the suburbs of Boulder. Since I have good insurance and have used this facility in the past. They can process my emergencies quite quickly. There were other patients in line too, some with far greater injuries so appropriate that they were taken even more quickly and were served by the discs. Broken ribs from bicycle incidents have been other cases with priority both times. Such a Boulder situation so be careful out there!

She has taken care of me and my family since then. Dr Seigfried's nurse Kristine is by far the best in the building! She and dr seigfried are genuine, kind, gentle and treat you like family. The reason I am putting this some what poor review is because of a recent encounter with the family practice department reception desk. Specifically Gwen, my husband needed an rx picked up and I was told to pick up at foothills location. Well by the time I arrived and realized it was supposed to be broadway it was 4:45. I had asked the receptionist Julie if she wouldn't mind calling the broadway location to let them know I'm on my way but to leave it downstairs to be picked up at urgent care. Well the phones were turned off as if the facility was closed... Julie the very nice and helpful receptionist at foothills was very unhappy that she even could not get through on the phones so she went in the back and figured out how to get through. When she did finally reach someone she was told that wasn't an option and that I would have to pick it up the following day. The thing is my husband was in need of this medication and could not wait until tmrw. Julie was very frustrated and handed the phone to me and I discussed the importance to Gwen over and over again. She ended up asking for advice from someone still in the office. She returned with "I can do this just this one time but in the future this will not happen!" I understand this but it was not my fault I was told the wrong location and it was not my fault that she turned the phones off at a quarter till 5! Absolutely unprofessional to turn the phones off to a dept that is supposed to be open until 5PM!!!!! I tried to call on my way to check and it kept circulating prompts! I am very very disappointed and very unhappy with this situation. If I had never been to the BMC I would have given 1 star.

My husband called to get a new PCP and they said sorry we don't have any available for you! He's been with them for 20years! So now he is left with finding another PCP, he found his old one at UC Health in Denver. I left meself and found a Direct Primary Care Physician, she is brilliant and I can contact her whenever I want or get a prescription filled the same day, all for 1 cost. BMC is atrocious the way they treat patients and loyalty.

It's on the east suburb area so in afternoon traffic of workers going home from Boulder, the drive can be slow. In a clear emergency, call an ambulance as they are most efficient here. I had a small household emergency involving a box cutter and a finger which has never happened to me in all the decades I have used one frequently and I clearly needed treatment. We arrived out there, were processed quickly and then waited. There were many people in with viral illnesses and they asked the few of us with small injuries to take seats further from the seats of those clearly infectious. They also offered free masks to all. None of those sick seemed interested but the injured all took and used one. We were called in reasonably soon and waited for a doc in a treatment room that was well equipped. He arrived after a short wait and went about the business of assessing the injury and started work. Yes it certainly needed stitches and he did some pretty fancy ones to secure the end of my finger for good healing and seal the "leaks." We waited a longer time for the medical assistant to clean up and wrap the wound. But we got out in time for me to get home in time to at least catch the last part of a Zoom meeting I had scheduled that afternoon.

It was an outpatient surgery but, not without some risk. Anytime you're under anesthesia there's risk, right? The surgery started two hours late due to some delays there, so I didn't pick her up till about 8pm, the place was a ghost town. But they'd been given my cell # to text and I was kept posted on her status the whole time, and I got a call from her surgeon telling me she's fine, there were some minor complications (oh boy, here we go...) but she's in recovery, come get her. He was terrific and as he promised, we were given his cell number and he told me if you even THINK there's a problem over the weekend, call me! Wow. The nurse in the recovery area was fantastic. She and my wife had become fast friends and I almost had to interrupt their conversations to encourage her to move the process along, please? It was a long drive home in the dark on an unfamiliar two lane road back to Golden. In summary, an experience like this kind of restores your faith in humanity. And I was thinking, these people survived Covid, survived a huge fire nearby just a few weeks previously, and they just keep doing the best they can for their patients with such heart and kindness. Fantastic.

If it wasn't for him, I could've died. After testing was done, they figured out what was wrong and they're incapable of intubating me. And, Flight for Life needed to transport me that same day, hospital is incapable of dealing with urgency of my care. My last two ED visits were so annoying! I've been admitted, multiple times and duration of my stay, I've always been released, prior than anticipated. One nurse was unable to get an IV into my vein correctly. It was bleeding out onto the floor, then tried to leave mee, while I'm bleeding all over the floor. My husband said, you need to fix the IV, my wife is bleeding all over the floor! You can't just leave her like that!! At my last hospitalization, I was assaulted by one of the RNs! She had the audacity, to tell me, I'm not entitled to break through pain meds! I told her, look lady, I've been on these meds for decades! I have fairly extensive knowledge of my meds, my illnesses and I know, what I'm talking about! The scary part, she didn't have basic knowledge meds. Plus, dealing with her, made myself exhausted! She fought with me, instead of checking and speaking with my physician and/or physician on-duty! Plus, it was recommended, I was in receipt of antibiotics, through IV, due to secondary infection. The physician ordered it, as soon, as it was decided, I would be discharged early, to go home. I was getting ready to leave, here comes that RN, insistently, made attempts to give it to me, it was the same antibiotics, same dosage, twice! I warned her that I've already, received such antibiotics and she didn't want to listen to me, I adamantly refused! Now, if, I was not in full state of mind, this nurse would've over drugged me! I have an immunosuppressed system, my liver was already failing, my GFR# continues upwards & at that time, we're unaware, my liver is diseased. We were diagnosed with cirrhosis, I returned to my specialist and she corrected me, stating it was diseased, not failed. I've got already complicated, rare kidney disease, stage III, diagnosed in 1999. I continue to go to this hospital because it's about 3 mi away from our home and by the time I need to get medical attention, this is the closest medical facility from our home. Everything else it's about 10 mi or more away from our home. The rooms are single occupancy and food is very good for hospital food. However, I suffered a stroke, fell down a flight of stairs, broke a few ribs and suffered a seizure before the EMTs got mee into the ambulance and they suggested we go to Good Sam's instead. So, they took mee to Good Sam's for hospitalization, in the ICU, because they're capable of treating me, instead of returning back to Avista.
