Yelp Review 2026 #181:…read more Alain Ducasse has amassed 21 Michelin stars and has restaurants in Asia, Europe, and the US. From successful restaurants, he has ventured out to artisanal coffee and chocolates. I was minding my own business when I stumbled upon Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse while walking around Nice. I've had so many places in Nice bookmarked especially restaurants, dessert spots and chocolate shops. They have gelato, pralines, chocolate bars, macarons, chocolate for baking, and coffee. I grabbed a few boxes of chocolates to bring home and an assortment of macarons for my plane ride to Switzerland. Pralines and chocolates: High-quality ingredients. Being in Switzerland for a long time and then coming here for chocolates...it's tough to compare. I'd have to say Alain Ducasse chocolate places 2nd compared to my favorite Swiss chocolate. 4.5/5 Macarons: Chocolate & Grue, Pure Passion, Hazelnut Praline, Pistachio Praline, Raspberry & Hibiscus, Espresso Coffee, and Three Vanillas are the flavors I picked. So, basically, the only flavor I didn't get was citron. Not a huge fan of citrusy desserts/ cookies. My favorite out of all were Hazelnut Praline, and Pistachio Praline. The Three Vanillas I only got for the heck of it but I was surprised how good it was! I took a bite of each one during a flight to Switzerland and saved the rest for my flight to Canada 2 days later. Amazingly enough, the quality was still the same. Lightly crunchy with a creamy and rich center. 5/5 There was only one person working at this shop but she was helpful and friendly enough. There's quite some space in the store.

Inside there is no table service but order at the counter style and they will wrap the food to go if it is busy and there is no seating. It was very busy when I stopped in but I enjoyed looking at the food items in the cold case before ordering. Once I picked my premade sandwiches, they heated them and bagged them for us. The Croque Monsieur sandwich was crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside with a slice of melted cheese on top. The "Charles" panini was even better. It contained ham, cheese, and sliced tomatoes inside a round French bread bun. (I forgot to take the picture because I was too excited to eat it) The srevice was very quick and they had little patience if you asked about the different sandwiches that were not described very well for a tourist. They also had beverages that were very good. I was glad I found this cafe and I would come back because the food was very fresh and so tasty.

This is actually a branch of a patisserie chain with a number of shops in Antibes. Due to buying a number of pastries that day, I waited until the next morning to enjoy it. I liked it, but regretted not eating it in the same day. I did not have access to an oven either to reheat it, which would have improved it. The other regret is that there are so many good boulangerie and patisserie shops to choose from in France. This shop had a lot more delectable desserts to choose from inside. If you like sweet treats, it is worth checking out this patisserie.

We came across Chez Theresa at the Cours Saleya Market which is well worth visiting on its own. Chez Theresa came highly recommended for Socca so we decided to grab a fresh one, along with one order of Trouchia. Socca is a thin, crispy-edged pancake made from chickpea flour that's soft & creamy on the center and crispy and smoky on the outside. I enjoyed it so much and the fact that it's low carb (since it's made of chickpea) made it even more enjoyable! Trouchia is an omelet made with grated zucchini, onions, eggs, and herbs. It was filling yet light and pretty well-balanced in flavor. Definitely a must try street food if you're visiting Nice!

The chocolate was decadent. It was rich and very chocolaty. The staff were very nice. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and answered our questions.

Yelp Review 2026 #206:…read more Maison Auer is a historic place located across from Nice Opera House. It opened its doors in 1820 and is Nice's oldest confiserie. It's a fifth-generation family business which started with Henri Auer who was Swiss. So, he knows a thing or two about making good chocolate. The shop is beautiful. Florentine-style interior with stained glass, chandeliers, big wooden cabinets with marble on top. Here you can get fruit jellies, chocolates, macarons, caramels, candied nuts, fruit pates, marshmallows, and ice cream. I got myself some chocolates. Their card machine is slow so, be patient.
