Our first day out golfing this year and we pleasantly tried a new course. I had been to this facility years ago in the banquet area for a sweet 16 party. For some reason didn't even know there was a golf course behind the building! What a great little course! Along part three it could be called. It is early in the season, but things look to be well kept. There were enough water challenges, and bunkers to keep you on your toes. It is pretty conveniently laid out course as well. No searching for the tea box in the next hole. The clubhouse is delightful. We did not sit in the dining area, but it looks comfortable and spacious. The bar is welcoming and warm. However, on this beautiful day, we sat out on the patio and had full service from the bartender, Gabi who was delightful and darn good at her job! Our foursome shared a fried pickle appetizer and the soft pretzels with beer cheese. They were delicious! The patio is so comfortable and overlooks the beautiful course. A ROUND OF 9 Grab your clubs and enjoy a breezy half-game at this public golf course in Bolingbrook. I must've driven past Boughton Ridge at least a hundred times by now--that's not to mention the 2-3 times I've been to Ashbury's, the sports bar inside the clubhouse--yet it wasn't until thsi past weekend that I finally hit the links with my dad & father-in-law, when we tee'd off around 11am on a Sunday in late July. Overall, the course is pretty nice. The fairways are in decent condition, although several tee boxes were roughed up and the putting greens had plenty of dark spots. The bunkers could use some TLC, too. There was a lovely fountain in the pond near Hole #7 and the waterways seemed well taken care of. Greens fees are a reasonable $18. You can rent a pull cart for $5 or a golf cart for $10pp (having caddied as a teen, I elected to save a few bucks by carrying my bag of clubs). I made some solid tee shots and a handful of good drives, even though I lost a ball in someone's yard and spent way too long in the sand trap on #6. Playing through 9-holes at Boughton Ridge takes roughly two hours, depending on the experience level of your group. The course is exclusively Par-3's and Par-4's, although a couple of the latter were long enough to be considered a Par-5. At some point the beverage cart swung by us, and the course ranger ensured a speedy pace of play. * TL;DR * Don't have 4+ hours to commit to a full 18 holes? A round at Boughton Ridge will get you home before lunch. The fairways and greens have plenty of divots, dings, dents and general wear-and-tear but that's to be expected on a public course (c'mon, this ain't Coeur d'Alene). Boughton Ridge is similar to Twin Lakes Golf Club in Westmont, though I think BRGC is more picturesque and challenging. I'd love to come back some day in the future, maybe once my little guy is old enough to read putts and swing a 3-iron. read more

this is the worst golf course I have ever been to. the staff is EXTREMELY rude, my boyfriend and I got our cart and he started the first hole (I don't golf I just went with) and Joyce and another man run out and take the keys from the cart and Joyce then kicks us off of the course because there was a "ride along fee" which we weren't aware of. As shes laughing in our face and telling us she cant help with our refund, she then locks herself in the shop not letting us in or speaking with us and instead sent the man who manages carts to talk to us but he was saying he has no idea because thats not his job. We will never go back here again. Im not spending my hard earned money to be treated like that. read more

Great 9 hole course! I played Boughton Ridge for the first time over the weekend. I was very happy with the entire visit. The employees in the pro shop were friendly and informative. She even explained the "Nine & Dine" special during the week. I would love to go back for that. $26/person- includes 9 holes of golf, dinner, and a soft drink. This is only a nine hole course but it's beautiful and very well maintained. Some of the holes are short but this course could help with someone's short game. This is a long review but a MUST READ for anyone bringing a beginner to this course. Don't know why anyone would say this is a good course for beginners... Unless your tee time is 7pm. I went with my brother and father, who have golfed plenty of times, whereas my mother and I have never hit a golf ball in our lives. Although the course is easy, which is excellent for beginners, one staff member is not as accommodating. The "ranger" started giving us a hard time by the second hole. Which, golfing with my mom and I (two beginners) is obviously not enough time for us to get the hang of things. We let the kids behind us play ahead of us, patiently waiting until they finished the hole, but it still didn't stop the ranger from making snide comments about my family being a hole behind. 2 holes later, the ranger is back again, and literally FOLLOWING me down the course. Like I said, never hit a golf ball before, still trying to get the technique down, and can't hit the ball more than 20 ft. I would hit the ball, walk the 20 feet, and he'd follow us every step of the way staring until he finally made a comment about how we should have a stroke limit. I'd also like to comment that by the time he made this comment (on the 4th hole) the holes were backed up and we spent the entire rest of the course waiting at least 5-10 minutes to tee off at each hole. Didn't stop the ranger from circling around us as we played. It resulted in our make up Father's Day, meant to be a peaceful day having fun doing something my dad loves, spent rushing through the courses, my mom and I so stressed out we didn't even fully finish the first 4 holes. I will NEVER go back to this place. It is a PARK DISTRICT course, not a professional 18 hole course. I felt so offended, especially after spending the same amount of money as everyone else to play and even splurging for a golf cart. The only reason I'm putting 2 stars instead of 1 is because not only did the other golfers seem encouraging of our beginner status, but the other employees did too. That "ranger" has got to go... He ruined golfing for me. Totally bad for business. read more

This place is a joke. I was going to pay for two people to go out in the course. Only one was going to be golfing. I was informed they do not let people that are not golfing but if I had another set of clubs she could carry around they would let her out with me even if she wasn't golfing. I will never golf here again. It's a shame because I live right across the street but I would rather drive somewhere else for better treatment. read more

Definitely recommend taking beginners to this course, they'd have much more fun here than at any championship length course.

Used to be a nice place but since Kemper took it over it's terrible. Course is not kept up, prices have skyrocketed, and most of the staff are rude and want to be somewhere else, and it shows. Plenty of other places to play and I can get that kind of grief at work, thank you very much. read more

I was in town from Arizona visiting my son and his family. My son and I had one opportunity to play golf. We showed up at the course just as the pro shop was shutting down. The lady in the pro shop was counting out her drawer, but was very gracious and kind and said if we were going to pay by credit card, she could accommodate us. Paid for a round, rented two sets of clubs. The ranger said he had to pick up the tee markers, but would leave the flags on the greens for us. The whole experience was pleasant, all the staff was kind and gracious. Thank you for the fantastic experience. I will golf no other place when I visit in the future. read more

This is apparently my "home course". They have a great little punch card deal that gives you 2 rounds free when you essentially pay for 8. Not too long of a course and they offer a special for kids under 16 to play for free with a paid adult. read more

This is a casual, nine-hole par 3 course that is excellent for kids, beginners, women who aren't long hitters, seniors-- but not for men looking to go long-ball with their drivers. It is well-maintained and has a nice clubhouse. There is no range. It is inexpensive and fun, not too difficult but represents an excellent opportunity to tune up your short game. There are two or three longish holes but most are in the 100-150 yd length. There are challenges but no preponderance of hazards. It is modestly priced and a nice two hours can be spent here. read more

Groupon 10 round card holders beware. General Manager changed rules from card never expires to card expires December 31st. Took no ownership and advised me to call Groupon for refund. Poorly executed Groupon offer on the part of Boughton Ridge, and zero customer service on their part. If I can secure a refund from Groupon, I will never golf at this course again. this is a great course for someone in the area who, like me is a 30-40 handicap, needs to learn the game. i agree if you a long baller this is not really the place for you. it's all par 4 and par 3. i've played with friends who have parred it and say it's too easy. not for someone like me. i'll go again and play. read more

This is a great golf course! It is a perfect 9 hole course for those days you dont have time for an 18 hole. They also have a nice restaurant and bar for a good drink and surprisingly great food. I would actually go back for lunch or dinner sometime and try more. Very well run place. read more

I've been a regular at Boughton Ridge for years and had enjoyed seeing the course and it's clubhouse continuously improve. However, you don't really know a place until there's a problem. This past spring after a round I noticed that my white golf shoes had picked up a yellow tint on the bottom, sides, and front that wouldn't come off. The friend I golfed with also had the discoloration, though not as bad. Since the shoes were quite new, I took them in to the manager and she agreed this wasn't right and would contact me with a solution. In a nutshell, I never received any call back, even after a few visits back to the course to get an update. Call me old fashioned, it's more about the principle than the money for the shoes. Any business that chooses to ignore a customer complaint can no longer be recommended. I've had friends urge me file a complaint with The BBB and I may just do that. read more
