The office made an appointment for 9:30 at 9:45 AM. We were prompt in getting there on time, filled out all documentation ahead of time since I was a first-time patient. They took my daughter first and had allocated a room for me to be seen after, even though my appointment was for 9:30am. After my daughter was seen, I was taken to my room to be then told, my appointment was canceled and need to be rescheduled. This office has lost all future business from my family. Horrible experience for a first time patient.

Everything was explained to me and given to me in writing. Then came the countdown to surgery. Dr. Bates staff checked on me and made sure I knew what to do leading up to the big day. On the day of surgery I went to their surgery center, which was clean, nice and relaxing. I was nervous when I went back, but everyone was so kind and friendly. I woke up in recovery to wonderful staff members. I did have to stay the night but had a very cozy chair and a night nurse who felt like my best friend taking care of me. I almost didn't wanna go home! I'm home now recovering and I'm thankful I picked Dr. Bates and PVPS.

I provided updated insurance information, which was received by the office, yet the claim was never reprocessed. Instead, I discovered the issue one full year later when I received a bill in the mail for $271.00. I have been a patient of Dr. O'Connell for over eight years, and both of my daughters have also been treated at this practice. Unfortunately, this situation has left an extremely negative impression. I went out of my way to work with my insurance company to have the claim reprocessed, only to be told that it was rejected a year later because my old insurance allegedly denied it while "awaiting COBRA." Had anyone simply called me at the time, this could have been resolved immediately--especially since my daughter was actively being seen by the practice during that period. Instead, I am being punished for a billing failure that was completely out of my control.
