If you're a visitor like me, I recommend making this your first stop for brunch places. Explanation at the end.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location and atmosphere were perfect. I couldn't have asked for more there.
If you're like me and speak less Spanish than many children, the staff will be perfect. All of them spoke at least enough English for me to get by, and were happy to do so. There are no English menus, so being able to read enough to get an idea helps. Otherwise use an app to translate.
As for the food I had chilaquiles verdes con pollo (green chilaquiles with chicken) and a mocha. The chilaquiles came with more sauce than I was used to and it was most of the flavor. A bit too sour for my taste. There was also what I think was a whipped butter on top. I've never seen that and can't say I was a fan. The refried black beans were hidden on the bottom and seemed unseasoned. All of that sounds bad, but I'm sure some would love it. It just wasn't for me.
The mocha was fine. It was unsweetened and I expected it to be creamier with using whole milk. It was very pretty and still good.
Overall, the place is fantastic and food was decent. If it was anywhere else I would have rated it higher. I say go here first because there are other places within walking distance that are unmatched in all categories. If you start elsewhere your expectations will be skewed. read more
