Being a ginger as soon as my hair gets over a certain length it starts to glow and become a ginger fro so I need to keep it trimmed and until now I haven't had a barber who did such a good job in sheering it down as James at Skinny Isaac's. Before I get in to the cut itself, I must mention the decor and set up at SI's. The place oozes suave sophistication. The black and white tiled floor is a throwback to old school barber shops yet the wall murals and ornamental guitars create a modern feel. They've clearly taken a look back at everything that was good about traditional barbering and added the new modern modern twists to improve their craft. There's an airy feel to the second floor premises, sun light bathes the studio creating a really nice environment to relax in. One thing to note is that you'll have to make an appointment at SI's. They will be booked up mist days so make sure you call first thing to see if you can get a slot. They are also open Monday's (during Queens term time) which is a bonus. A haircut will set you back £16 - an absolute bargain once you experience the attention to detail each barber puts in to their work. All in all a five star service and a top notch hair cut. I won't be going anywhere else in the future!

I didn't call to book my time so had to wait (only) 15-20 minutes and got a very good haircut. Really happy! Kevin did a great job and was very friendly and communicative. Also, the atmosphere there is very chilling with rap beats on. Recommend! - Remis

Popped in at about 10am and the lonely barber told me that I needed an appointment - yep it's one of those barbers - no walk ins! So I went and perched myself at Starbuck and called to see if they had any appointments available and luckily they did - not sure why I couldn't do this when I walked in, but hey, rules are rules I suppose. Anyway I managed to get an appointment for 11:30am and the female barber was great - I explained I had my hair chopped a few weeks back and I just wanted a wee trim. She obliged and cut it perfectly, even stopping intermittently to ask me was it looking ok - I like this as often I just keep quite and let them work away and then I get up out of the chair hating how my ginger quiff looks and wishing I had stopped them, but it's all too awkward. Anyway I was in and out in 20 minutes, no waiting around due to the appointment process and I was only charger £11 which is a snip (get it? Snip?).

After trying a few places I wondered into this barbers just a two minute walk from my apartment. It was a soaking wet day (as days often are in this city of rain) and I had finally had enough of a mop of hair that any number of wax and gel products had failed to style. I'm still not sure of her name but the barber who generally cuts my mop is always spot on. Cheery and chatty, without being overly talkative about topics so banal you want the world to implode. Quick and efficient. It's always what I wanted. I can't stand the process of the actual haircut, but when it's complete there is always a sigh of relief. Granted, this is certainly not the cheapest place to go in the city centre area, and there are certainly much more 'old school' barbers charging significantly less, but I think it's worth it. £11.50 for a trim, steep? Perhaps, but it's only every couple of months... I just suck it up.

This is a bit of a double edged sword to be honest. Its handy if you are catching a train or bus, but whoever is going to be hanging around the bus and train station with enough time to get a hair cut? As others have said this is kind of inbetween a salon and a barbers, but is a bit too much like a barbers for my liking. I'm a bit of a salon lover and like taking my time with my haircuts. The prices are pretty standard and I haven't heard any complaints from anyone who has went in here to get their ears lowered. Pretty decent, but just not for me.

And sometimes if I find myself at the bus station with a hangover or quite thirsty, I might get myself an over priced fry or a lovely little glass of fruit juice. Very rarely do I ever go there and get a haircut. In fact, I've never even considered it. I've used that beautiful little gem (minor sarcasm) of the Europa bus station many times and never have I ever seen someone in this place. Perhaps this is the finest hairdressing establishment in the whole of Belfast. I don't know, but if it is located in the bus station, if is not going to be good.
