1 year ago a fraudulent spa injected a substance under my eyes and I had an allergic reaction…read morebecause the substance was not intended to be injected and they created horrible bags. I contacted several specialists and was referred to Dr. Kapadia, known as the best in Massachusetts. 1 year ago Dr. Kapadia said that he couldn't do anything until 6 months passed, I was frustrated, because I felt very ugly, but I trusted him. And it was the best thing I've ever done. I went back almost 1 year later and we scheduled the surgery, from the first appointment he was extremely honest with me about my expectations and realities. I had all the security and professionalism throughout the process, before, during and after. I would also like to talk about the team (they are extremely professional, kind, affectionate), many I don't remember the name but some that I remember I want to mention. Donna: the person who gave me all the necessary documentation for the surgery, such as payment, medical examination, medications, instructions, etc. Super attentive and dedicated, super available for all my questions. Jessica: She was responsible for my appointments, she even called me every day after the surgery to see if I was feeling well and if I needed anything, reminding me of details necessary for healing, if I was doing the compresses, all well detailed. Bárbara: I have never met such a genuine and loving human being in a professional environment as this woman, she was the first person who took care of me when I woke up after surgery. Barbara has a gift for caring. This woman is blessed and has uniquely contributed 100% to making my day full of joy. Today was my 1 week appointment after surgery, I already see a huge difference, my high esteem is back. Dr. Kapadia has already cleared me to start my routine because my recovery is great. My experience was not just a simple surgery, but surgery with the best surgeon in Massachusetts and the best team in Massachusetts, details make the difference. You make a difference in people's lives, thank you a million times over.

had 2 consults for the exact same upper eyelid surgery. both visits he changed his tune as it…read morepertained to anesthesia. At the first meeting I asked if he used prophepol and he said yes. He then went onto say , the anesthesia nurse would place something in my mouth to open my airway. At first I didn't think this was strange since I've had prophepol before many times for colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. the next day I was recapping my notes I had taken and I know this isnot done for prophepol sedation. My 2 nd consult 4 months later , Dr.Kapadia says , he prefers to use local sedation with lidocaine injections in the eyelids where you are totally awake but do dot feel pain. He said he prefers this method bc he can ask the patient to open their eyes so he can see where to stitch and therefore create the eyelid crease. I said wow! this is totally different than what my first meeting covered. I said I would think about it however, I would probably prefer prophepol sedation . Dr.Kapadia then replied, well we can adjust the dose so you can sit up and open your eyes. I then emailed Dr.Kapadia 2 weeks after my 2 nd visit asking him if he provides the name of the anesthesia in writing . He has you sign a fee page stating if the patient is having anesthesia which is one price and another legal document if you choose to be awake with local anesthetic. The reason wanted this inserted in his document he wants you to sign is because , general anesthesia is riskier and other shorter acting anesthesia like Versed doesn't make me feel well afterwards. Prophepol agrees with me the best and is a lesser risk than general anesthesia. in fact, Dr.Kapadia should be thankful that a patient is divulging this info about what their experience with various types of anesthesia ! in fact it is less of a risk for him! Dr.Kapdaia responded to my email, by saying I didn't trust him and he could use general anesthesia or in fact any any anesthesia he feels the patient responds to. That's not how it's supposed to work! You don't wait until the patient is ready for surgery and guess or try different methods! Dr. Kapadia can't be trusted !My guess is when anesthesia is used, he does whatever he wants bc, the patient will never know! I had asked if when the patient is prepped for surgery does the anesthesia nurse review the risks and what to expect when being administered anesthesia drug ,prophepol showing them the drug and how it is administered. Dr.Kapadia's response was " you don't trust me and we won't put anything we are administering in writing , nor will we show you what we are administering. stay away ! it's an expensive surgery Buyer beware!

Everyone in the office was incredibly friendly, and kept me calm through the procedure. My eyes healed quickly, and it's amazing to be able to walk around without my glasses. As someone else already mentioned, it was $6,000, but I'd suggest paying up for the doctor that's going to be shooting lasers into your eyes... Will update if my vision changes in the future, but for now, I couldn't recommend Dr Kornmehl more.

Every time I went back for him to reinsert new plugs, he charged me a surgical copay. Then office staff tried to get me to do lipiflow, offering installment payments and charging a certain percentage interest. I felt like I was shopping at a car dealership. He also wasn't helping me with my dry eye by not telling me things that would help with the DED, like preservative free tears, mask at night, etc. Finally I found one of the best dry eye specialists in Boston area that really helped me with dry eye and used collagen plugs that never came out. When I told the new doctor my experience with Dr Kornmehl (didn't name him), he said let me guess who you went to and he guessed right. So if you suffer dry eye, stay away. There are a few really good dry eye doctors in the Boston area that will care about you and your eye health and not be in it for the money. He's no different than a car salesman.

That alone is such an inconvenience. Other people also had similar problems and they had to drive for so long to the center only to find out their appointments were rescheduled without prior notice. To make matters way worse, on the day of the rescheduled appointment, the wait time was ridiculously long for us and everyone else in the waiting room. We waited for over two hours past our scheduled appointment time and we left without seeing the doctor. This whole place is a joke. I don't ever recommend going here.

The attitude I got left me feeling like I wasn't welcome. They let me know that they don't adjust Warby Parker without charging me a fee and couldn't confirm they wouldn't break them. They should note that many people cannot afford the cost of many eyeglasses (they charge hundreds of dollars that aren't always reimbursed) and Warby Parker offers low cost glasses. Adjusting them would take them just a few minutes and help customers feel supported. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed.

The fix is coming from my new relationship with Needham eye associates and in particular Ilana! She helped trouble shoot, ordered frames and even helped to work within a tight time frame!
