Probably the worst application process I have ever been a part of living in Boston. They took approximately 2 days to run our background and credit check and the lady we spoke with was awful at communicating. After that they informed us that they received other applications so we upped our offer to be more competitive. Then nearly a week after we submitted our application they said we would no longer be considered unless we move in 9 days after the listed date they posted of September 1st move in. Boston's Luxury Properties saved us! We were in need of an apartment to move in ASAP. Gregory Shugal helped us tremendously. We called him on a Saturday and he showed us the apartment within few hours. He even stayed after work during the week, just to finish our paper work, so we can move in as soon as possible. Gregory also helped us even after the move, with setting up the repairs of some stuff around the apartment. He is very professional and answers emails and texts timely. The agent we worked with here straight up LIED about several aspects of the apartment we rented. For one, she told us the landlord was living in the building. Turns out that was actually the man who does maintenance. This is messed up as the poor guy had no idea we thought he was the landlord. I was also told that I had completely paid my deposit. then THE DAY BEFORE we moved in the agent contacted me to say if I did not pay the company another $1400 I could not move in. I had to pitch a fit in order to fix the problem. She kept making excuses that she was busy and telling me to calm down. Also, she told us there were 2 parking spaces included with rent and that we had no pet restrictions. BOTH of these things were lies as well. We were told as well that the apartment would be cleaned and holes in the walls filled in etc before move in. We had to wait to unpack our boxes so the carpet could be cleaned the day after we moved in. There was mold in the sink that was so bad they had to replace the sink when I got the maintenance guy to come in and look. Holes were left in the walls. INCHES thick dust on the ceiling fan. No vent in the kitchen. The buzzer system didn't work. The agent lied to us to get her commission fee, which she did not deserve. read more

We had dealt with other brokers who tried to convince us that their apartments were exactly what we wanted, even though they missed many of our needs (and price range). However, David Weisberg from BLP listened to what we wanted and found apartments that fit those criteria-- he was able to show us a few apartments that met all of our specifications. We were also very late to our appointment, and David rearranged his entire day instead of inconveniencing us. David and BLP have great relationships with many buildings in the area, and the building management went out of their way to help us because of David. He was very professional but also friendly, and even came back with us the 2nd day when we wanted to see another apartment in the same building. We loved working with David and BLP, found a great apartment at a great price because of him, and highly recommend them to anyone else looking in the Boston area! read more

My roommate and I are moving from New York to Boston and were interested in renting only in Beacon Hill. We contacted Drew about a craig's list apartment ad and received a very prompt reply. We were only in town for one day and really wanted to find something that day. We saw a bunch of places, but didn't really find a place that we really loved during our allotted appointment time. Drew agreed to stay late and show us a few more places after his next appointment (this was late in the afternoon on Good Friday), and we ended up finding a great place. I worked with Eric D., of Boston Luxury Properties, to find my apartment, which I am truly happy with. Before I signed a lease, Eric was helpful and professional. However, leading up to my move over the course of three months (June through August), he assured me by email that various (reasonable) apartment maintenance items would be taken care of and that the unit would be painted/cleaned before I moved in. On move-in day, nothing had been taken care of, and the unit had not been cleaned (it was half-painted). The painters were under the impression that I was moving in several days later, and I was not on the cleaning crew's list of apartments to clean. When I expressed my frustrations about this with Eric on move-in day, his response was that he had been calling and speaking with contractors to complete the work, and so as far as he knew, the work was being done. Essentially, it was not up to him to follow up to make sure the work was being done. I'd advise that if you decide to work with Eric to find your next rental apartment, get everything in writing ahead of time on your lease (email communications apparently don't count). Though I'm not convinced this would have made much of a difference in my case (I regularly checked in with Eric beginning three months prior to my move-in date to try to avoid what ultimately happened), it certainly can't hurt. read more

Caitlin was wonderful to work with! She helped find an apartment for my roommates and I right next to NEU campus and made the entire process from start to end ridiculously easy for us. My previous experiences with realtors in Boston has been awful to say the least, but Caitlin actually listened to what we were looking for and never pressured us to take an apartment we didn't want. This was okay. The person showing me around was nice and friendly but had a hard time getting into the apartments and couldn't show me one because they couldn't open the door. I was also put off by the fact that before you see apartments they have you sign a paper saying that you will rent the apartments they show you from them only, even if someone else has shown you the same one. read more

VERY unprofessional, I was contacted by Leo via email and we were going back and forth for a week and decided on a Sunday appointment at 2:00, well 2:15 rolls around and I call and see what is going on and I got three excuses within a 3 minute phone call, first he said he emailed me to say he couldn't make it (never happened), then he said he didn't have enough of my information (he never asked for it), then finally he says to me "Tenates don't like to have their apartment shown on Sundays (hes the one who made the appointment). Its extremely unprofessional, and for someone who works off of commission you would think he would have the respect, and decency to call or email back saying that the appointment wasn't going to happen for any one of the excuses he gave me....I highly recommend not wasting your time! read more

Very unprofessional- especially the realtor Leo. Went to see an apt with him and turns out the tenant was not home as Leo had thought he would be. He proceeded to call the tenant and get into an argument with him about why he wasn't home! Then, the worst part, Leo knocked on a random tenants door and said he was from the MANAGEMENT office and needed to show his apt which was not only a blatant lie, but extremely inappropriate! Very unprofessional and I would not give any of your money to this office!! read more

Worst experience with a realtor, ever. After finding an apartment we thought we were happy with, we started filling out the paperwork with BLP. We were told the apartment had a parking spot and there was no fee (unfortunately we didn't ask for the listing sheet to confirm this, pity on us). After making the deposit, the realtor told us there was a half fee or the parking spot, but not both. There were also additional fees that the landlord imposed on the property, like a cleaning and key fee that BLP conveniently forgot to mention. Finally, after we moved in, we got a call from our landlord asking if we'd paid our full deposit. Sure enough, after calling BLP, they hadn't sent our landlord the full deposit we'd given them. We didn't work with any of the other realtors mentioned in the other reviews, hopefully they're better. Use extreme caution when working with BLP, and make sure everything is in writing, or you could end up just like us, paying extra money for an apartment that isn't better than any other apartment in the city. read more

Boston's Luxury Apartments is one of the worse agencies in Brookline, MA to lease an apartment or studio in town. Service is very inefficient and staff/agents are extremely unfriendly and rude. Team members fight among themselves for customers and the agency broker is not able to recognize his customers by names or faces and treats them poorly every time he interacts with them. I was there for an appointment at 3 pm and nobody was waiting for me, then they called another agent on the phone to take care of us and the next agent never showed up. They made us come back an hour and a half later and they were still very disorganized and unable to wrap up a contract drawing a lot of obstacles along the way. For instance, they wanted me to get cash from the bank at 4:30 pm for the 1st and last month because they were unable to make the phone call themselves to the bank in the morning. REALLY BAD OFFICE!!!. Don't go there unless you want to waste your time 'BIG TIME'. The agency broker discriminates customers as he wishes and is extremely rude during service hours. Save yourself some time and visit nearby Brookline agencies such as 'Real Estate Services, Inc (1396A Beacon Street) or Princeton Properties on 1470 Beacon Street where service is excellent, courteous and efficient, much more beautiful properties on well-maintained buildings for similar prices (love it there!!). read more

I wish there was a zero star option. By far the worst company I have ever worked with. I found a one bedroom apartment that I liked with them. There was a lot that needed to be fixed in the unit though. BLP told me not to worry and that they would have all the updates made (such as mold and water leaks fixed). I was leaving for a business trip for 2 weeks and they said that I could give them my deposit check to hold the apartment and that they wouldn't cash it until all the updates had been agreed upon and it would only be cashed when I signed the lease. They even said this in front of 2 other people I was with. Well, 2 days later I get a call that they are making only some of the updates and that they only want to sign a 9 month lease rather than a standard 12-month. I told them I was not interested in that case to which they informed me I would lose my deposit. Turns out the day I gave them the check to hold they cashed it! Then they informed me that I was going to have to pay for all the costs of them updating the unit even if I was not going to live there. I couldn't believe what I heard. I had my attorney send them a letter demanding my money back and they actually came back and threatened to sue me for not moving in even though no lease was signed! Now my attorney is dealing with the matter and he said in all his years of real estate law he has never seen something as crazy as this!!! Don't use them and do not trust them. Jason Gell has no morals and is just out to make a buck. I called the Boston Real Estate Board and they said I was not the first person that this has happened to with Jason Gell and BLP. read more
