I took my folks here following their dental appointments. It was chilly out, so we started with coffees. Mom and I drink decaf, so our server said she'd gladly make a pot. It turned out really good. (Decaf can be iffy). My folks wanted soup. The soup of the day was potato-bacon. We all ordered it. Our first bite was good. Yay!! Hot soup. We hate luke warm. I didn't taste much flavor, so I emptied my salt and pepper packets into it. There was a generous sprinkle of dried parsley which was nice. Mom and I were having trouble finding any bacon. Our server asked how we liked the soup. I said we can't find any bacon. She was very apologetic and offered to upgrade us to their French Onion. We declined. We were so hungry we were just scarfing it down. I found a couple small bacon bits at the bottom. Mom wanted dessert, so I suggested the dessert pizza. I also suggested she order a main pasta dish to take home for their supper. She ordered the lasagna to go and it was ready when we all finished that delicious caramel-icing drizzled pizza. The server told us she comped our dessert. She was super nice to us. Our service from start to finish was exceptional. They should have just called it potato soup, then I would have had nothing to complain about. We noticed a new item on the menu. Mushroom -spinach baked penne. Boston Pizza in Riverbend is probably the best Boston Pizza in Edmonton. The overall food quality is more consistent than other locations and I feel that they are more generous with portions, so I'd give them 8/10. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would, ordered food on skip and the people putting it together didn't check and forgot a bunch of our food, very disappointed. And when offered to go in to pick it up instead of the skip driving back they said no even with the skip order number, establishment is terrible read more

Had a great time at the Mario Kart Tournament this past weekend put on by Northern Alberta Boston Pizza. Kids and adults alike had a blast! Kiddo meals are always consistent and a hit; they had chicken tacos and spaghetti and meatballs. Hubs and I had a peach beet salad and a pecan chicken salad (lunch portions) and they were delicious! If you haven't tried the quenchers before, they are the perfect combination of refreshing and not too sweet (made with soda water and a hint of fruit syrup). The best experience I had in a restaurant by far was here where my daughter who just had four wisdom teeth extracted asked for something that was not on the menu - 'Bugs and Cheese' grown up version. This is an item that's normally offered on the Kids' Menu and something that they did not offer to grown ups. Instead of telling me no, which I would have understood, Dave (the Assistant General Manager) went above and beyond to make arrangements with the kitchen to get what my daughter had asked for. Needless to say I was blown away by the focus and commitment on the customer. In reality it took someone only about 10 minutes of their time to do this but it resulted in a very satisfied and impressed customer! Excellent service!!!! read more

Service was bad. The server didn't come to check up on us once after bringing us our food we asked him for ranch and he never brought it. After a coffee session in the Riverbend area, we decided on a late dinner at BP's. We were hoping for something regular and simple, and I would say this BP fit both of the above criteria. Atmosphere: 3/5 By the time we arrived, the dining room was already pretty empty as most people had finished dinner; the bar still had some people. Atmosphere was pretty typical for a BP's - slightly darker and louder than I would prefer but overall clean. Food: 3.5/5 We had shared the Southwest flatbread and cactus cut potatoes. I love the taste of cactus cut potatoes but it does get a little too spicy for me so I can't have too many! It was the first time I tried the flatbread and it was good overall - I like the thin bread but it had a little too much dressing for me so I would probably forgo the ranch dressing over top next time. Service: 2.5/5 Unfortunately a bit below average for a BP's. The dining room was also shutting down by that time, so it took a little longer for our waitress to take our order and for our food / bill to arrive. Otherwise friendly. I ordered a chicken grilled pecan salad and a beer, all good there! 2 stars for the service - there was a game showing on the screens and the server was more focused on that than on us. It took him long time just to bring the bill so we decide to go to the cashier and pay there. Our server didn't even notice that we went there. 4 stars for the furniture - Its kind of old but is well take care. 4 stars for the washrooms - Trashcans full of paper but were clean. We started with Thai Chicken Bites and then worked our way to a Boston Royal Pizza. Another great choice for pizzas is the Spicy Perogy Pizza! Ordered seven cheese ravioli and it did not look that great. The noodles tasted okay but the cheese on top was gross and chunky. I felt like I was choking while eating. Garlic bread was burnt, soft and tasted gross. They were efficient but the food was sub par. read more

Boston Pizza is a western Canadian staple of family dining stretching back at least as far as I can remember, probably further. I cannot even estimate the number of times I have eaten at one. Once in a while, you get a hankering for some real comfort food from your youth, and Boston Pizza definitely is there to scratch that itch. Unfortunately, it's scratching it less and less accurately as the menu seems to be devolving. It's like you can taste the price optimizations they are engineering to keep up with the times. We recently indulged in some take out from this location, and it really underwhelmed. While the garlic toast was timeless, both the Boston's Lasagna and the Fettucini Alfredo (baked with cheese) were underwhelming. The sauce tasted thinner, more processed. Was it just a subpar batch? Who can say - at my age I tend to read all oracles as the erosion of western civilization. The removal of my favorite tortellini from the menu didn't help in making me optimistic regarding whatever changes they have afoot. Came here on Sunday at 5pm with a group of 12. The host seemed very confused about how many spots we needed but everyone had a spot to sit for dinner. I just want to comment on my meal - I tried the Boston Royal pizza for the very first time! My husband wasn't impressed with the shrimp but I'm fine with canned stuff. The thing that I found amazing is that despite the various toppings on the pizza, it didn't really taste like anything! The shrimp literally tasted like mushy nothing. I was so excited to try this pizza after reading the description, and I was starving. It took me about 3 slices to figure out that the thing didn't really have any taste. the worst service my family has ever experienced. even though it was a big group of us it shouldn't take over a hour and a half to get 8 meals and on top of that the burger my sister order they claimed they dropped the patty so they had to remake it, it doesn't take another 30 minutes to cook one patty. 2 hours for 8 plates of food? and it wasn't even hot when she brought it out? no apology, no discount, no dessert? they obviously don't know what good service is. she never came back for refills or to check on us, my dad had to go to the back to ask for the salad dressing and plum sauce they forgot. we have never received such horrible experience and we will never be returning to this boston pizza. read more

Three times out of 5 visits service was slow. Today was the last straw. We arrived at about 7:45pm it was not that busy. After 15 minutes waiting for service we decided to leave. This place is absolutely terrible. every time I have gone here there has been an issue. The last time we went there was 5 adults and one child ( requiring a highchair) the first time they sat us it was at a table for 4. Than after waiting 20 minutes to be seated again the hostess ( which I have had numerous problems with ) asks me 3 times " are you SURE you need a high chair?" are you kidding me? finally when we get to our table its 15 minutes later until we even see a server to order our drinks. by the end of the night we had seen our server once and had to go to the front for our bill. this place is HORRIBLE. read more

I called their call centre to place an order off their seasonal menu for pick-up. The guy Kevin said the order I wished to make couldn't be made thru the call centre and I was to call the restaurant directly. So I did, I explained that the call centre told me to call them. The hostess said she needed a manager then put me on hold for nearly 6 mins! Then she comes back on with attitude and says well we don't normally take orders you're supposed to call the call centre but I'll do it just now and never again. - Umm what?! That's wonderful customer service - so I asked to speak to the manager which of course agreed with the hostess and that this is my problem. At the end she said she would "gladly" take my order this once. I was surprised, I shouldn't be since this is the same place that never remembers part of our order and we always have issues with. I laughed and said oh yeah right, now that I'm complained I'm going to have you make my food. She didn't say anything, clearly rule #1 (never complain to the waiter prior to your food being ordered or there will be spit in it) applies here. I wouldn't recommend dining here but moreover taking out from this location.
