She has a chronic problem, so there is no easy fix, but they took the time to really assess the problem and provided exercise to help. Lo and behold, I found myself in need of PT when the practice at my HMO was filled. I asked if I could go to this practice instead, and I am glad I did. They really take the time to understand the "why" of your problem. I appreciate that they do that and not just throw exercises at you. I am very pleased with my therapist, Connor, and already believe I am seeing progress after two weeks.

Now I hear, despite all my best efforts, that I'm not making progress and PT is a waste of my time. This was very devastating news. I was trying to balance PT with recommendations from other health care providers, and it was confusing when the recommendations conflicted, especially about what I should be eating. I feel like there still could be meaningful ways to engage in PT, but now I feel like I'm defective, and it's me as the person who's the waste of time. I thought things were going okay, but the way it ended, especially so abruptly, was extremely upsetting. I'll heal on my own or find someone who can work around my other challenges.

I was in serious pain and was seen on the same day I made the call, that in itself is amazing. Upon arrival, the staff was professional and very concerned about my condition. They listened closely as I described my ailment and told me everything that they were doing. When Dr. Blake came in I was very nervous and she recognized my heighten state. She took her time examining me and throughout the process she remained very calm and explained what she was doing. She gave me her diagnosis along with a follow-up treatment plan. The staff then proceeded to take care of all the follow-up appointments needed, from booking my MRI to calling my PCP to get prior approval. That has never happened to me with any other Doctor's office. Usually I'm the one making all the calls. I wish I could give Boston Pain Specialist a perfect 10 but 5 is the highest on Yelp. I totally recommend them if you are looking for caring and professional people.

However, during my appointment and after listing all my symptoms and how gynecologists have told my I have suspected endometriosis, I was told by Kristine that I don't have that during muscle testing. I was shocked at such a bold statement ONLY because it went against the "I am not a doctor" statement I was told. I convinced myself this woman had a strong intuition until my chronic pelvic pain did not subside from the tinctures I was given. Which ... they weren't supposed to. It was only something western medicine could handle. Here I am two weeks post op with all endometriosis excised from my bladder and deep from my pelvis. So, Yes. I did have that. But the point of this review is that I was told I didn't have something..... when I absolutely did. It did not align with the " I am not a doctor" which I was told twice. If you are not a doctor, then how come I am being told I don't have something? Everything was very speedy and rushed... but I am assuming that is all because routine is the same for every person. Listen to symptoms, muscle test, and send home with 2-3 tinctures/ vitamins. Waiting for the western medicine and natural path world to align and become one instead of being so separate from each other!!! Hopefully one day. I see reviews that this practice is a scam, I think it is in some ways, but for some people (especially when their symptoms are mental, body is low in vitamins, contains parasites, etc. ) it could really help but it seems to be an expensive guessing game that is for sure.

I have to agree with another recent reviewer that this is a scam. The entire process was strange from start to finish in terms of what she does to check the body energy. None of it makes sense and you can watch her video on Yelp to see what I mean. I have chronic gastritis and came in for help with that. What she found and the drops given did not help me. Actually a very natural remedy did recently, but nothing that was done during this appointment or following. I am not sure how what she does helps people with digestive issues and I don't think she should be advertising that she can help with that. I also don't think she should be ripping people off with such a high initial price point when there are no guarantees and what she does is pretty hard to believe as legitimate. I really wanted this to work but I warn people to not go and use your best judgement. As desperate as you might be, this is too good sounding to be true and effective.

I generally don't like medicine that I can't trace back to anatomical reality (I get exasperated talking about Chi and other untestable, unmeasurable concepts). So I obviously didn't go to Acupuncture to get my chakrahs back into balance or anything like that. I have a pretty nasty back injury that gave me a fair amount of pain and tough ciatica (look it up). I've been doing PT, and I've been healing quite nicely (I'm not going ton a "Western Medicine is Useless!" rant today), but I'm not a very patient person. I wanted to see if I could do some pain management beyond medication, for obvious reasons. I went to see Lisa because my mother's friends (who are much more... spiritually oriented) have given me sufficient anecdotes that I decided I'd give it a try. Anyway, disclaimer aside. I enjoyed the visit. Lisa is a grounded, rational person that actually talks about medicine and the body. There's a little bit of "energy flow" stuff going on that I managed to not get frustrated about--in short, at the end of the conversation I was pretty convinced she knew what she was talking about. Then with the needles. Afterwards, I felt significant improvement. I have a lot more relaxation in my back and leg, the ciatica's gone down. I'm walking around without a cane, which is a fair improvement. I'm quite pleased with the treatment. Over the next few days, I'll be updating as to my progress. I'd recommend Lisa for an alternative approach to pain management stress, musculoskeletal or nervous problems, definitely. I will continue to hold out on the mystical cancer-healing powers of heat lamps and small needles until I've seen better science on the topic.

I am pretty sure I will not need surgery and that's a huge relief! When I walked in there several weeks ago, I was limping, barely able to walk, and had to be driven there. Also, the front desk staff, nurses and medical assistants (not sure of all the proper titles) are all really nice people. I particularly enjoyed the upbeat attitude of the red-headed lady who did my intake - wish I had remembered her name. It is very easy to get an appointment, and you don't sit around waiting for a long time. The waiting room is small but has nice magazines and a TV, and the facility has parking, which is important!
