Their offices in Arlington are a bit of a trek for those using public transportation, but the quality of care is excellent. Some clinicians even offer nighttime appointments which help for those trying to come after work. The only con is that the offices are a bit dated and I hate calling in to an automated telephone system. They take care of all billing and are very responsive. I originally became a patient as my PCP had difficulty understanding the drug interactions of some medications. I wanted to coordinate my care so that one doc could manage my medications and therapy in one visit. Unfortunately, therapy and med management are separate visits. However, it was nice to finally have both docs under the same roof! Plus, the docs I saw weren't not only knowledgeable, but they were also kind and accommodating. Dr. Orleck (psychotherapy) is has a peaceful demeanor, and is caring and compassionate. She offers real-world advice that helps inspire and reassure you at the same time. Dr. Onofrei provides ADHD assessments via questionnaire and office visits. There were a total of 3 visits, lasting about 1hr each. Without his assessment their doctors cannot prescribe ADDHD meds. Dr. O is another kind soul who you instantly feel comfortable with. He offers 8pm appointments for those who work late. Dr. Simkowitz is very knowledgeable about drug interactions, has flexible scheduling (i.e. Early AM), and responds instantly to any email questions you may have. I felt reassured having him manage all my medications. If you're in Cambridge/Arlington area, then I'd def recommend checking out PCA.

If we can't get scheduling under control I'm not super confident in the output of putting my mental health in the hands of Psychological Care Associates. I filled out the form at the suggestion of my OBGYN, who recommended I talk with someone about a few post-partum issues that I had been having. The form was comprehensive and I was thrilled to get a call later that day! ...to my dismay, the admin who called me (who was very polite and who I enjoyed speaking with) was apologetic about not being able to work around my schedule. The rub is that they could not commit to a consistent time/day of the week for my appointments! I told them I could be flexible and available any time on Fridays or Tuesdays. When she called me back (after confirming with the director), she confirmed that they would not be able to give me consistent days/times, and couldn't even be sure they'd be able to give me enough advanced notice to make sure I could clear my work schedule! (And for what it's worth, I have a flexible work schedule with generous work from home time, and even then that was not enough.) For a practice that touts its' ability to help new mothers or working parents, this practice has shown shockingly little interest in being scheduling-friendly. On my second call, the admin was asked to refer me to their sister practice in *Lexington* - as Lexington had more availability - even though I live in Stoneham and work in Kendall Square in Cambridge and am already struggling with scheduling this appointment with any sort of week-to-week consistency, let alone tacking a 30-m drive on top of it. At the end of the call they were so unable to help me that I left with more anxiety than I started with, and I decided to look elsewhere for assistance.

The NP I saw was everything you would hope for in a clinician - gentle, efficient, competent, friendly, and easy to talk to. They filled my prescription right away, sent my test results quickly, and I'm waiting to see if they call back promptly. Will edit if not.

Time and again, I have had positive experiences there, getting courteous and efficient help for my needs, but at this local family practice in the rich town of Belmont, shockingly low level of care from the front staff. When I relocated to MA I began my search for a doctor. Knowing that Drs accepting patients are hard to come by in this state, I opted to search for, and become a patient of, a resident at MGH. I could not have made a better decision. I have been more than pleased with everything. Everything is excellent but here are a few excellent things I'd like to highlight: 1) the quality of care 2) the professional manner of both the doctors and all office staff 3) the ease with which I can book appointments 4) the friendly nature of everyone at IMA 5) the responsiveness of both doctors and staff to my needs. As I mentioned, my primary care physician (PCP) is a resident at MGH. He is a licensed doctor, and 99% of the length of my visit is spent discussing my issue(s) with my PCP. However, being a resident, he is overseen by a senior-level doctor within IMA with whom he discusses my issues and then settles upon the appropriate treatment. It's like being seen by two doctors for the price of one. Additionally, it never seems like my doctor is in a rush or hurrying our appointment (I suspect as a resident he has more time for patients but can't really say for sure). Quite literally I could go on and on about the great things about IMA. I would recommend IMA to any friend of mine looking for excellent care, excellent facilities, and excellent service. An absolute must for those seeking doctors who are warm, professional, intelligent, and ideal all-around.
