When Yelp offered a free 15 minute session with Timothy, I wanted to give it a try. I've helped others with their resumes in past years, but looking at my own is always so much harder. It really needed a brush-up. Tim's advice was wonderful, clear, and so easy to follow. He provided me with templates that would be more attractive to any potential readers. Over the next few weeks, I plan on using one of the templates to pop my own information in, and have it at the ready "just in case."

Management bends over backwards to satisfy diverse shareholder preferences and has struck a fine balance between the need for sufficient quantities of staples and a wide variety of choices for the foodies. One share will easily feed a family of four, but a share can be split, making it work well for couples, too. Sign up early. Shares sell out fast.

Their produce tastes better than anything I've ever found at a farmer's market, and is of course totally organic. You pay ahead when you reserve your summer share in January. It seems like a hefty sum, but you get a lot of produce, so it actually works out to be quite reasonable -- we split the share among 5 adults and still end up not eating everything. You pick veggies up every week, which we look forward to doing because you get to say hello to the cheery farmers and go into the fields yourself to pick certain items. There's nothing better than a tomato warmed by the sun and eaten right off the vine! You get to learn about new veggies you didn't know you liked (hakurai radishes??) and for us city kids, it's cool to see what a familiar veg looks like when it's growing out of the ground (when I started going here I couldn't tell a carrot from a broccoli plant). We've done all three share programs they offer: summer, fruit, and winter. You have to join for the summer to be eligible for the other two. I recommend both the summer and winter shares, but I wouldn't do the fruit share again. That's because they partner with another farm for the fruit and so it's not organic -- also they don't give you much fruit and generally it's not as high quality as their veggies. But the summer and winter shares are excellent! Extra bonus points for being a community farm and for their work helping the hungry.

In addition to being the office of over 40 nonprofits, it also has meeting space available for other nonprofits to use (you do not have to be a tenant). I've been to meeting here sponsored by Tech Networks of Boston, Women in Development (fundraising), The Communications Network, Public Relations Society of America, and Third Sector New England. The event space is great, but my one warning is to triple check the microphones with the nonprofit center events staff if you have speakers. About half the times I've been to events there, audio problems occurred, so I always sit in the front to be sure I can hear. I'm jealous of the employees of the nonprofits in this building! What a lovely place to work!

I researched every venue I could find, over 55 in total. We couldn't afford to spend thousands of dollars, and time was running out - as were my options. Then I came across The NonProfit Center - after my initial inquiry I was contacted by Faisal and literally everything was smooth sailing from there! I took a look at the space and it was perfect, they were available the date I needed, and the price was right. Faisal answered all of my (many) questions and kept in touch to make sure there was nothing else I needed. FFF is a local nonprofit org that delivers perishable food and produce to many smaller charities…read moreand nonprofits such as homeless shelters that serve meals or have meal programs. FFF solicits surplus or leftover food from local restaurants and farmers that would otherwise go to waste. FFF daily delivers this food to the needy people that need it usually within 24 hours of it being donated. FFF is a great nonprofit that does great things. I volunteered here once and helped them build a huge walk in refrigerator. Bravo to this fine local charity.

I can't remember who said it but on the back of all their trucks reads: "When I feed the poor, they call me a saint; When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist." I'm no communist but I can't say enough about this sort of thing.

More Than Words is a nonprofit bookstore that sells new and used books while supporting young…read morepeople ages 16-24 who are system-involved, including youth from foster care, court-involved backgrounds, housing insecurity, and more. The young people help run the store, learn job skills, and work toward personal and career goals--and it truly shows in the care and pride behind the space. The shop itself is small but mighty. I walked out with four excellent-condition used books (three of which had already been on my TBR list) and somehow also added two cookbooks because... no regrets. Everything was very affordable, and it felt good knowing my purchase was directly supporting youth in the local community. If you're near one of their locations (I believe there's another in the Boston area), I highly recommend stopping in or checking out their online storefront. My wife got an oatmilk vanilla mocha latte and I went crazy (like I usually do at a coffee place) and got a cinnamon roll latte. It was literally a liquid cinnamon roll in coffee form. You could smell it through the lid! Matthew was very patient with us trying to decide! What was the best part, was that the coffee was ready to drink when we got it. So we didn't have to walk with a full cup of coffee for 20 minutes until it was sippable. I know many may not like that but it our case, it was perfect and very much welcomed!

I was previously a member of the Junior League of Greenwich, CT and upon relocation to Boston I transferred membership to the JLB; the Boston-based League has a fantastic transfer committee who welcomes new members with open arms. All of the women I've met so far have been kind, open-minded and genuinely passionate about the mission of the Junior League to meaningfully contribute to the Boston community.
