I took a vintage French alto saxophone and then a student model Japanese alto saxophone to John for…read moremaintenance and to fix issues a previous technician had not solved (and also created). John did well with the student model instrument. Unfortunately, the French alto saxophone was left in an unplayable condition; the octave key was not working. I had John take another look at it, but he seemed to just keep it at his shop for another week without doing anything. He also called me repeatedly to pick it up, even though I told him multiple times that I was out of town (I was away for a week, and he called as if I had left it there a much longer time). When I picked it up, he gave me a discount, but I should've been suspicious. I had had enough, so even though the octave key still wasn't working, I took it home. I later noticed a poor solder job and burnt lacquer on a key. When I took the French saxophone to a different repair shop, they fixed the octave key problem, solder, leaks, and adjustment issues he missed. The only reason I would give John two stars instead of one is that he quickly fixed the student instrument; however, I would not trust him with a vintage or professional instrument.

It never really worked out. When my kids were out of the house, I decided to finally learn how to play and went looking for a school that welcomed adult students. Luckily, I found Bernie and SAT. I have had many different guitar teachers. They were great, but I never clicked with them. Bernie is different. Bernie is passionate about the guitar, about his students and about his school. He wants you to succeed. He wants you to love and respect guitar playing as much as he does. And Bernie is not only a master guitar player, he is a master teacher. His joy in the guitar is infectious. His skills are incomparable. With Bernie, I have made more progress than ever before. He makes the complex simple. He makes the guitar accessible. Bernie is a flexible teacher and will develop individual lesson plans for his students. I feel I have direct input into my sessions with him. Bottom line: if you want to learn how to play the guitar, take lessons from Bernie. He is Berklee trained, has played professionally, is the consummate professional and can draw on all this experience and make it accessible to his students. He previously took lessons at another music school, and while they were great with his "beginner lessons", I noticed he plateaued with his skill level. After starting at Sharon Music Academy I immediately noticed a difference. He is more confident, he is learning much more music theory than before, and actually enjoys practicing at home! His teacher is Iryna and we could not be more pleased. She is very thorough in her description of each piece before he even begins learning how to play it ("this was a French dance, picture what the dancers would look like" etc etc), my imaginative and creative 10 year old absolutely thrives with this form of teaching and has learned so much about music history already. I would recommend Sharon Music Academy to anyone who wants their child to gain a well rounded musical background.

This CD is truly a blessing from the heavens and delivered to us via the prophet Robert. This is both the greatest album in history, and the greatest album of today. This is what happens when you search through a vault of precious 24 karat gold, and still manage to leave with the highest quality platinum. This CD ruined all other albums for me, nothing else even holds a candle. The beautiful singing, the masterful guitar work, the majestic drumming, God I can't even accurately describe how exquisite it is. I immediately wished to purchase this masterpiece, but as this work of art was so coveted, as at the time there was zero information easily findable on the internet, the store owner and I reached an agreement. We would do research on how much the CD originally sold for and I would later return to this treasure trove to agree on a price. 1 week later I made my return, and after discovering that it originally sold for an affordable 5 U.S dollars, the prophet Robert, in all of his wondrous generosity, let me have it for 10. That is the story of how I obtained the pinnacle of human expression in music form on one, inexpensive, incredible CD. I found a ton of Joan Baez and Judy Collins, but this store has every genre imaginable. The owner is super knowledgeable and will happily tell you stories about his time in the record industry (ask about Cher at Tower Records). What a disappointment. I went to have my daughter's clarinet corks replaced and when I returned 2…read moredays later, not only were the corks replaced, but pads were replaced as well - the pads, which I didn't order, cost double what the corks cost - so a whopping $113 later, I was more than frustrated. The gentleman, Paul, who I placed the order with, and who was the person I picked it up from, said that I had ordered the pads as well, which I didn't. I wouldn't even know to ask about the pads. When I told him that I didn't order the pads, his response was "well, it will play now", to which I responded with "it played before". There were no apologies, no trying to come to a resolution, nothing. I just had to pay the money. This experience left me feeling ripped off and left me feeling as though their business practice is questionable, if not unethical. A total disappointment.
