My technician, Rachael, was great! I wear medical devices that's can't be taken off and she was very accommodating around them which I very much appreciated. The massage felt good but for the price fell short for me. You enter into a bay that is divided with a curtain from the customers next to you. While you're paying for your $175+ massage you can hear the conversations going on around you. Upon finishing you're lead right to their "wellness room" where they show you all of their products and supplements they have for sale and then led to the front desk to sell you on packages immediately. I think the experience would have been more worth it if I hadn't seen my money being thrown in their "upscale" tactics like solid black toilet paper, custom towels that you can see until you're getting re-dressed in dim lighting, and everything they own being labeled with their logo. I would have preferred a cheaper massage for what we're all there for - lympathic drainage.

From the very beginning she was kind, empathetic, and trauma-informed (so important in any medicine, but especially pelvic care). Over the course of our treatments she healed my pelvic floor and taught me how to understand my own body and maintain the gains from therapy. She always took the extra time to explain what she was doing, ask permission before touching my body, and made me feel comfortable and appreciated. For a therapy that can at times be painful (emotionally and physically), I was surprised to find that after a few weeks I was looking forward to going to my weekly session! Dustienne incorporates yoga and holistic practices into her treatments to the extent that the patient wants them. I would say I have a medium-low interest in holistic treatments and I never felt like she pushed them on me, but that they were always something available if I was interested. I like to understand how things work, and she would pull out medical books with diagrams and show me medical articles and walk through them with me. I think she really meets her patients where they are at and provides them with what they need. Her space in Back Bay is welcoming and calming and very comfortable -- lots of plants and a beautiful view of the Charles. It has a really healing vibe and isn't sterile-feeling at all (but of course it's clean and her COVID preparations were thoughtful and clear). I live in the Cambridge area and it was easy for me to drive and find parking (especially during the pandemic). I believe she doesn't take insurance, but the charges are very reasonable and I was able to get reimbursed by my insurance for the full cost (ie she doesn't charge more than the reimbursable rates for at least my insurances, I've had Cigna and Aetna.). Scheduling is super easy, and she was always available by email for questions about the treatments, billing, or scheduling. My appointments were an hour and 15 minutes -- 5 times the amount of time I get with provider anywhere else but for the same price! If you are wondering if you might need pelvic physical therapy, GO and have a consultation at Flourish! I suffered for years with tight pelvic muscles that affected my sexuality -- I couldn't even use tampons and I always thought something was wrong with me. Being able to heal my body has had a really profound affect on my relationship to myself and my physical/sexual health. If you are starting on your healing journey or working on your pelvic health after trauma or giving birth, definitely try Flourish!

Dustienne not only did gentle, effective internal pelvic floor work; she also taught me about trauma, and how to respect my own limits to re-teach my body what was safe. Some days I'd go in really hoping to do internal work, but my body just wasn't open to it so we'd work on something else. She was so careful to never allow me to push past a boundary. This, of course, actually helped my body learn to trust intimate touch again, and heal the dysfunction and trauma that had been living in my pelvic floor muscles for over three years. I will be eternally grateful to her.

It's obviously tailored towards the hearing impaired and making a sale but I found the doctor to be very friendly and extremely informative. He spoke to my grandmother and I with kindness but also with respect. More often then not a doctor will talk to the person who drove to the appointment instead of the patient. This did not happen on our visit. She was tested and fitted and all of her medical records had been received prior to her appointment which made this appointment extra informative and helpful for both her and I. I like this place because they offer follow up appointments, fittings, free batteries and someone to call when you aren't happy. Her previous hearing aid store fitted her and sent her on her way and never offered any sort of follow up opportunity. This is a problem if hearing loss fluctuates at all. She ended up purchasing a set and came back for a few follow up appointments. They have called to check up on her a few times which is a relief for the family because they can help more then we can. Plus this guy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. A Longhorn fan is always a plus in my book!
