I've always been interested in the KOA brand having seen it in Florida while exploring the keys. Finally got the chance to experience some cabin camping and booked a week here under two cabins: one bedroom upgraded and two bedroom (base). Bring Febreeze, Glade, whatever air freshner you like, you will need it, especially for cabins without AC. As stated, you'll need to bring your own linens and bedding. The one bedroom upgraded includes fire pit, picnic table, gas grill, porch swing, one queen bed, a bunk bed, AC, ceiling fan, mini fridge, high stool, small bench top, tv, broom/dustpan. The two bedroom (base); bedroom 1 includes ceiling fan, queen bed, wooden chair, small bench table, small bench heater, broom/dustpan, good amount of wall hooks too; bedroom 2 includes 2 bunk beds, high stool and high bench table, 2 outlets, long bench. Also, fire pit, picnic table, and porch swing. The ceiling fans were vital in staving off bugs, but it's only on when the lights are on. Bathrooms are pretty central on the campground. The laundry room is right next door. Three shower stalls on the women's side. I never had to wait nor did I ever encounter people much when going. Variable quality in drainage and shower pressure but hot water was always available. Nothing like a free hot shower. Laundry is $2 to wash, $2 to dry, $2.50 for 5lb ice, $7.50 for wood, $65/day golf cart rental. Weekend ice cream event had $1 scoops and anothe $1 for unlimited toppings. Staff was nice. Check in was easy and fast. They were able to bridge my two reservations (one after another since my original cabin was booked for the weekend) and I just jumped from one cabin to another. September had a great deal for $25off/night deluxe cabins that I took advantage of. Most nights were cool but the cabins would get stuffy for a few hours during the day. There's a playground, very small mini golf area, massive lawn checkers, jumping pad, corn hole, bocci, horse shoe throw, volley ball net, baskeball and a number of other lawn games. It was fun just exploring the playground and looking at RV setups, some looked more permanent than others. You can definitely hear the highway fyi. This summer was an incredibly wet season so the entire campground was damp and full of mosquitos at night. Bring bug spray, mosquito coils, thermacell, everything to stay protected. It was fun. Loved the porch swing. It's close to supermarkets and everything you would need. But the smell of the cabins were a bit too rustic for me.

Being on a spot that was not leveled resulted in us using a grill for over the fire to use as a stair.

So, if you are going to stay here and they assign you H24 do not take it, especially if you have a 5th wheel beyond 40ft long. It took us over an hour close to 2 to have my rig stop saying "unable to level due to slope". It was very uneven and even after getting to the point of where we were leveled our steps would not touch the ground (pic included). Now we were only there for 2 nights and I did ask for another spot, the ladies at the office did try to work with us so I give them kudos for that. But as I read a comment by another customer if you get an (what sounds like) older lady on the phone (i guess the call flows over to her when the office lines are busy) be prepared for a very rude impatient conversation. Lastly if you want to have your meals outside on a nice summer day and appreciate a side of dust with your meal then this is your place to be cause there is a lot of dust especially when vehicles drive by.

Absolutely love this place. I came here maybe 6-8 years ago. I finally had a weekend off so I told my boyfriend we should go here. We stayed in the deluxe cabins. I believe it is the same price as a smaller one. Which is weird but whatever. It's adorable here. A good size campground. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Everything is clean. Updated. Lots to do. Lots of places to eat around the area also. I will definitely be back. You can tell this place has awesome owners. The only complaint I have is that the wifi is terrible. But I guess when you go camping you shouldn't be on your phone anyways. Also it's annoying that fires have to be out by 12. But it's not a deal breaker.

Mini golf - a little run down, and small, but I loved the feel of a small friendly course.

My…read moregrandfather was one of the founding campers in 1959, my family started camping there when I was six, and we had a permanent site by 1968; my brother has that site now. "Permanent" constructions aren't allowed. You can put campers and tents there, and build frames of 2x4s, canvas, mesh netting and fiberboard that have the appearance of a cabin. People park refrigerators, tables and appliances there, and generally stay throughout the season, which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There's a pond for swimming, fishing and sailing, forests in which to hike, a recreation area with a basketball court and other amenities. The sites are seasonal leases (no short term camping) and can roll over year-to-year, and Site #12 isn't the only one that's been in the hands of one family for fifty years or more. Contact the owners to get on the waiting list for an opening, but understand that preference is often given to the families of current or old-time campers. Times have changed, some, and now water and electric hookups have replaced the propane-fired refrigerators and send-the-kids-to-the-public-taps-with-jerricans of my youth. More people are there weekends-only and fewer live there all summer long. But it's still the home of my heart, forever. And if you can get your own site, thank your lucky stars. It'll be one of the best things that ever happened to you.

As I entered the office to register I was greeted by Jody who said to me "welcome Hime". That picked up my spirits quite a bit. As I was driving here I thought about my site and how to back in was a hill which I thought could be a bit muddy which it was. As I was guided in by Geoff one of the great crew and an RV tech I got stuck and bogged down in the mud. Things look bleak at that point and we talked about getting a tow truck to move my 45' coach. Suddenly the Calvary arrived and we and they devised a plan to free me up. Oh did I say it was raining quite hard. After two hours using planking and more digging I was freed. Now they decided to put me in a pull through for the night which I did. Now the plan is to wait until the ground dries a bit and go back to the site I love. Bottom line I e traveled all over North America and never had the service I get here and always with a sincere smile. They always seem to know what to do to make the customer feel happy and satisfied. The main difference here I believe is the fact it's a family run facility third generation and it's not the same as being a name and number in a corporate campground. The point I'm making is recommend anyone to stay here at Pinewood Lodge. I'm here and hope to be for time to come. The amenities and activities are wonderful. So I hope this review helps people looking for a campground close to Cape Cod and convenient to travel to Boston would consider them. Happy Camper

The only reason it got a star off was because we were only staying there for two days and had multiple issues with our cabin. 1. The AC didn't work on the most hottest day and it took them a little bit to figure out how to fix it. 2. The cabin was not clean and my son spilled soda because it was hidden behind the curtains. 3. There was no hot water. For a 48 hour stay there was quite a few issues that needed to be resolved. However I do want to speak on the fact that the activities were super fun and they were unique however I do think that the family trivia needs to be tweaked and needs to be easier for the family. The bingo night as well as candy bingo night we're super fun and we really do enjoy all the amenities such as the pool. I wish that the bike ramp was open or they had something for scooters that would be really cool but it was a super nice time.

There are other courts next to the big playground that you can use but we still needed to walk all the way there to find out there were no courts. Also every time we went to the courts it was to busy and we coudlnt play which isn't their fault but it was annoying. At the food place they have we got onion rings for 8$ and mozzarella sticks for 8$, the onion rings were actually pretty good and I think worth the money but the mozzarella sticks were soggy and there were five of them for 8$. I think that price was a little much for five mozzarella sticks. Went to the indoor pool and it felt a little weird, it was downstairs and 4 ft deep at most, the lights made it look pretty gloomy and it was pretty crowded. Also part of downstairs was carpet which made it look even more gloomy.
