If you're craving real BBQ, this place delivers! I ordered a platter that came with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, mac & cheese, and cornbread, and every bite was worth it. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a smoky glaze that had just the right balance of sweet and savory. The brisket was juicy and flavorful with a nice smoke ring, and the pulled pork was perfectly shredded and packed with flavor -- it didn't even need extra sauce (though their BBQ sauce on the side is delicious). The sides were just as good as the meat. The mac & cheese was creamy, cheesy, and comforting, and the cornbread muffins were soft, slightly sweet, and a great balance to the smoky meats. Portions were very generous, the food was still hot when it arrived, and everything tasted freshly made. SO finally I heard that Boston BBQ was back open in Lawrence. So I went to give it a try for lunch on a Friday afternoon. NIce big food truck. 2 guys working. Smelled wonderful with all the meat smoking. I got a brisket sandwich. 30 minutes later , my order is finally ready. So I get some decent brisket meat on top of a bare chibatta roll. No sauce. The roll is semi statle (dried out) and the meat was dry too. Fries- a handful were thrown in. A small condiment cup of slaw was very good. No napkins or utelsils either. Not impressed. read more

You should check this place out. We've been hesitant because it's not clear from their website what's going on. We took the chance this past Friday. Glad we did. Ribs, chicken, beans, collards, and hush puppies were all top rate delicious. Here's what we believe is going on: a small BBQ catering service has parked their trailer behind Rolf's Pub on Main St. Can you get table service inside Rolf's? No idea. Some of the reviews here sound like they do? If you want take out, go to Boston-Barbecue.com, check to see if they're there. At the top of the page they listed their hours for this weekend, which makes me believe they're not always there? There's a link to an online ordering system. OK, you've placed your order... how do you pick it up? Do you go to the truck? Do you go to the bar in Rolf's? I tried the latter, and they didn't have my order yet, but the guy behind the bar happily went to go check on it and within a moment he was back--seemed like it was already on its way. Gentleman who gave me my order was super friendly, and the smells coming from the bags was amazing. In summary, food: amazing. Web experience: mediocre. I'd honestly give more like a 4.6 but these guys deserve a 5. Been waiting a while for these guys to open back up! Never tried them before but something just spoke to me and said "These Guys Are Legit". Let me get the bad part out of the way. We went on their first day open of the 2021 season, ordered online, took them a little while to get everything going. They seem to usually be set up at that little building in front of the Showcase Cinema right off the highway. There's only like 4 spots to park at right there but plenty of spot behind the building, just watch out for all the dog walkers from the Groomers right there. Got a 3 meat combo, Ribs, Brisket, Jerk Chicken Wings! Baked Mac and Cheese, Cowboy Beans, Cornbread, Grilled Cheese, Banana Pudding! Jerk Chicken Wings, I don't usually get wings when I try out BBQ places so this might be new territory for me. But Jerk seasoning in New England has been kinda all over the place so it's real hard to judge who does it better. Fortunately I've tasted true local jerk chicken in the carribean a few years ago and I can say that These Wings are the closest to the Real Deal I've ever had up here. The spice is zingy but subtle and still the natural flavors of the jerk remind me of an island dish. Chicken itself was super tender and juicy too, I ate them WAY too fast. I think I got like 6 of them too, in a 3 meat combo meal! Ribs were a bit slathered, 5" long, 1" wide, a bit on the thin side because I lucked out and got that cut off the rib cage where the bones are flat and not tubular. But the meat was Excellent, juicy and soft, pork flavor was perfect and mixed well with the little bit of sauce slathered on it. 4 Ribs in a 3 Meat Combo! Brisket is chopped, not sliced, all the other meat was on top in the combo box. Soft and not super chewy, some parts were a little dry but very traditional brisket flavor. Fat melts in the mouth very well. Rub was definitely there but couldn't really taste just the rub to give an accurate assessment. I feel like the brisket wasn't dry but in a weird way some of it tasted dry ... if that makes any sense. Still pretty darn good Brisket, I just like it sliced. Mac and Cheese was excellent. Actually Baked! Real Cheese! Great Texture! Flavor was great, not the best I've ever had (but that's not fair, I've had a LOT) but still excellent! Cowboy Beans, Pinto, red and green bells, onions, bacon, gravy stuck to the beans pretty darn good. Excellent Flavor! Gravy reminded me of good old fashion new england apple cider style but it didn't compete with the natural awesome flavor of the beans. That's pretty hard to do! Awesome job! Cornbread was little mini muffins, so cute, but you get 2 of them with an order. And OMG they were Awesome! Real Corn! Not overly Sweet and Gritty! I could eat a whole Bag of these things. Sauces: They had 2 of there own and Franks Red Hot, sweet and tangy looked like dark ketchup and tasted like stuff you can get at the store. And I don't know what the other one is cause I got a bunch of Sweet and Tangy for some reason, it's all good. Grilled Cheese was a good and buttered slice of authentic bakery bread, 2 cheeses melted nicely covering all edges of the bread, the slices don't touch each other. Grilled to Perfection! Banana Pudding (aka the death of me and I'm okay with that) Super creamy with real bananas and nilla wafers and whip cream. Still just the instant banana pudding stuff but the argument is out there that the Jello Brand might actually be Better than Home Made! Excellent Dessert! read more

I came in today to try Boston BBQ. I was very hopeful due to the great reviews. I ordered two meals; a 2 meat combo and a 3 meat combo. Both meals came with 2 sides and corn muffins. The meats I chose for my 2 meats were brisket and smoked wings with Caribbean Jerk sauce. The meats I chose for the 3 meat combo were smoked wings with Caribbean jerk, brisket, and ribs. My sides were Mac and cheese and collards greens. Unfortunately they did not give me my ribs so I can't review on that. The brisket was a good amount but it was very dry. The smoked wings lacked flavor and were very tough. I am not a fan of sweet collards greens so they were just ok for me. The Mac and cheese was decent. I can tell it was homemade. I read about this place on-line and was excited to try it out last Saturday. It had good reviews. When I arrived from Salem, NH, I could smell bbq from the outside. When I walked in, however, I was surprised that there was not much business going on for a Saturday afternoon. No one was eating food, and there was nothing in terms of atmosphere that was promising. No one was there to greet me. I sat at the bar for several minutes, but no one showed up. I started to feel like the place was sketchy, so I left. It reminded me of that old saying that if there are coffee stains on the airline seats, people will feel less comfortable about the plane's engine. Too bad. We tried Boston Barbecue located behind the Masonic Lodge building, next to the Youth Center in North Andover for the first time today. We had a three meat dinner, including ribs, pulled pork and brisket. We had macaroni and cheese, cowboy beans and cornbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had Boston Barbeque cater a graduation party at our home and we are so thankful to him and his crew. They set up the truck and smoked on site, and the food was outstanding! Very consistent food truck (at least for MY orders/experience)...will always be a fan of pulled pork and what they produce is quite good-not dry and balances the taste of smoke and porkiness well. The Carolina mustard sauce is one of my favorites. Ordered from them today(11/6/22) and the Mac and Cheese is particularly on point!;love my fried pickles and coleslaw is great(especially when i pop it back in my freezer to put the chill back on it). My only gripe(even though i get the 'business' aspect of it; but i wish the corn muffin was a lil bigger and the same for the sauce cups) other than that we know where we stand, i love them! read more

Edit to my original post: after speaking with the owner we decided to give Boston Barbecue another chance. We ordered the same two meats (brisket and pulled pork) with collard greens and potato salad. The minute we were served our meals we knew it was not what we had on our first visit. The brisket was moist and delicious with the attached fat which made it tender. The pulled pork was also delicious and we added their sauce to it. The collard greens were cooked perfectly which isn't easy. The potato salad was good and we enjoyed every component of our meals. Great job Boston Barbecue! Thank you for responding to my post. This place happened to be on my social media feed and it happened to be located near me so I figured, hey why not, I have been looking for a place with good barbecue. And believe me, I was not disappointed, their food is amazing!! I ordered the brisket dinner with collard greens and Mac and cheese. I am picky about my collard greens and they were cooked to perfection! The Mac and cheese and brisket was amazing as well. Saw these guys at the Lexington Battle-Greene BBQ Festival. I devoured the Mac and cheese and pulled pork. Definitely one of my favorite pulled porks around. I got the rib dinner for $15 and was not impressed with the ribs - they were dry, mostly bone, and only included 4 small ribs, including 2 sides (sweet potato fries and mac n cheese).
