I consistently worked with Zaira and Jose once a week for seven months when I was fostering "Monroe," a young high-energy pit bull who had absolutely no training coming out of the shelter and was highly reactive around other dogs (growling, barking, pulling, etc.). From day one, they knew the perfect approach to take with her and we saw improvement in Monroe's focus, attention, and responsiveness in the very first week. The best part was that they took the time to help ME learn how all of Monroe's behaviors could help me understand her communication, triggers, and perceptions about the environment around her, which was SO HELPFUL. Throughout our time with LEAP Dog Training, Monroe rapidly learned all of the commands on the CGC test, and significantly improved in her dog socialization skills. I first approached Leap dog training through an e-mail to PBRSD about how the new addition to our dog family could be negatively affecting the balance at our home, Eevee was starting to become fearful and very barky. On the other hand we needed help with our older dog Yoshi in dog manners. Leap dog training is not one of those teach my dog trick schools, it has really helped my boyfriend and I try to become better dog owners by helping us recognize our dogs cues and how to stir them away. I think in terms of my fearful puppy the training has helped, and she is becoming friendlier to strangers because we as owners know how to recognize our dogs emotions and act on it on their best interest. Something as simple us helping us walk our dog in a neighborhood full of other canines has also helped us maintain a less agitated and stressful environment for us and our dogs. Zaira is an excellent communicator. She's great at answering our questions and helping us in between trainings. Zaira and her husband Jose are such nice dog trainers, its almost as if our dog training sessions were hanging out with new friends as well as learning how to be better dog trainers.

We can be around people and dogs without an issue. Loki has been the best boy even in difficult circumstances like other dogs getting in his space while on a walk. We can leave them alone and no longer worry about Finn hurting Calvin. Almost more concerned Calvin is going to snap and let Finn have it. Finn also went from almost unwalkable due to his abundance of energy and spasticity (is that a word?) to maintaining a comfortable heal and is very easy to walk. Grant was willing to take us further in the training than we had the energy for. It would have been great to have a dog we could walk without a leash but we stopped short of that goal.
