As a recent transplant to Texas, since Temple is a relatively small town I was concerned that the acupuncture community would be non-existent. However, a google search revealed differently. Success with acupuncture as with any service is about connection. I reached out to several acupuncturist in both Temple and Killeen. I ignored the negative review about Josie since the reviewer had never actually used her services. When I first spoke with Josie and told her my diagnoses, her first response was that I shouldn't be married to the diagnosis of Lupus or anything else with which I had been afflicted. I knew then that she was the best "fit" for me. Anyone with a chronic illness understands how touching this comment could be: a life without Lupus (or at least flare-ups) would change my life. She wasn't promising that acupuncture would cure me completely, but she was suggesting that if I open my mind to making lifestyle changes in addition to acupuncture I could make good progress. Josie a kind spirit and incredibly smart. Her clinic is warm and relaxing and is what I would describe where southern charm meets Chinese Medicine. She is not only well versed in acupuncture but Chinese Medicine overall. Her approach to using holistic medicine is useful because she also understands the benefits of Western medicine as well. I am happy to be working with her and look forward to getting stronger physically and emotionally. She is educating me about wellness and how beneficial Chinese Medicine can be with balancing the stressors that we all have that can cause various illnesses.
