A few years ago, we went there in an emergency when my diabetic dog was having a seizure. Dr…read more Kennedy was great. He seems like he's probably seen it all and he spoke honestly with us on her chances. I appreciated that he didn't try to rack up my bill to save her, only to have to face the same situation in maybe a week or two, which is what he said could happen. We knew she was older and had health issues. With his guidance and advice, we said our goodbyes to her that day. The staff was very kind and sympathetic. But speaking of pricing, while I appreciated the honesty in that situation..I have new dogs now and took them in for a nail trim. Holy smokes it was expensive. I'm not sure why a nail trim is $30 and that does not include using a drummel. If that is requested, it's $75! OUCH! If I understand why things cost what they do, I'm happy to pay. I've had dogs all my life, taken them for plenty of nail trims (including a drummel) and never (EVER) paid more than $20. Also, my dog admittedly isn't the best at holding still with her nail trims and they didn't touch her dew claw. I asked if they could trim it and they said they did. However, It was just as long and sharp as it was when we walked in. If she was a handful and they couldn't do it, I understand that ...but I feel I shouldn't have paid full price then. They said all the nails were trimmed, I didn't want to argue it. It wasn't. I know my dog. So, lesson learned. I've had a good experience and not so good experience. I like Dr Kennedy but I'll be looking elsewhere for basic nail trimming.

We have a follow up appointment scheduled for December as our dog requires regular blood checks. Their fees were reasonable, $50 office visit and $45 for the blood work. The staff was super friendly and did all the preliminary work in gathering records from LA Vet, etc.

Dr. Surbur is very thorough and actually caught a rare clotting disorder that one of my dogs had simply because she was paying careful attention and noticed that my dog had a little bleeding around her gums. One time I had an after hours emergency and she met me at her office at night and took x-rays of my dog and helped me to make the decision to take him to Texas A & M for further care. While we were in College Station she called me a couple of times and checked on my dog and when he eventually died (not her fault, he had a congenital defect) she sent me a lovely gift to remember him by. Her office staff is excellent and it is easy to get convenient appointment times.
