It was Christmas Day and I had a cat that was sick to the point of being near death. She seemed to…read morerally a little the day before, but got considerably worse during the next day. I searched for any emergency animal clinic near me and made several calls, but got no answers. Dr. Terry has always treated my animals in the past and I saw where he posted an emergency number. Thinking I could, at least, get a recommendation from someone, I called and got Dr. Terry at home. He immediately agreed to meet me at the clinic. Right away, he discovered a serious abscess and found that the cat was badly dehydrated. He spent part of his Christmas saving my cat. We first took him here for his seizures then found out he has CHF. He's doing great on his meds and the clinic even mails them to us when we travel. Dr. Surbur is very thorough and actually caught a rare clotting disorder that one of my dogs had simply because she was paying careful attention and noticed that my dog had a little bleeding around her gums. One time I had an after hours emergency and she met me at her office at night and took x-rays of my dog and helped me to make the decision to take him to Texas A & M for further care. While we were in College Station she called me a couple of times and checked on my dog and when he eventually died (not her fault, he had a congenital defect) she sent me a lovely gift to remember him by. Her office staff is excellent and it is easy to get convenient appointment times.
