Service was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us make some really good choices. Overall the food was good but in some areas I have had better. The Turkish tea was weak and seemed more like Lipton but the presentation was good. Calamari was good and not over cooked, presented well and was a good portion size for the price. The sauce that it was served with was very good. Falafel was a bit over cooked and a bit dry but passable if you are not familiar with this dish. Hummus and Muhammara were outstanding when paired with lavas. Sigara Boregi was very good but when I asked for a sauce I did not realize it would be 3.00 for a dip size portion. Prices are about normal for the economy. For some reason they would take our Master Card gift card which has been taken by every other restaurant in the surrounding area so if you are here on a vacation and receive these know ahead of time. The food here is delicious, freshly prepared and it's definitely my comfort food spot! The menu here is quite extensive yet the amazing kebabs with their butter flavored rice and the perfect lavash bread are my favorites! They expanded/updated the restaurant recently and added a bar which makes the place even more enjoyable now! The flavors are so authentic and delicious that it's tough to stop eating despite the very hearty/large portions! Also I feel that they excel at service as well which makes every visit so enjoyable! Who knew they'd undergone such a massive renovation!? I hadn't been in about 5 years and was surprised at the new look. I was also disappointed with the food. But the service was good! I ordered doner kebat (surely I misspelled that). The meat was dry and waaaay overcooked. It used to be moist and tender. The cabbage salad and shredded carrots under it were fresh, crisp and flavorful. The lavash was perfect! I love that bread! My sangria (white sangria) was terrible! It had no flavor and was watery. Bosphorous is a lovely little, warm restaurant. It has a cozy, romantic feel that makes it perfect for a date night spot or for a girls' night out. As a vegetarian, I sometimes feel a little disappointed in the food offerings at local restaurants. This was NOT one of those times! The food was some of the best I've had. However, please note that the portions are HUGE. We started with the Karisik Meze and a nice big Lavas. It was a little pricey, but it was easily shareable and highly satisfying! I love going to Bosphorous! Every time I've gone it has been great service and food. Tonight was no different. We had a rather large group of 9 that were quite talkative. Our server, Michael, was very patient working around that. He also made some recommendations that people were very pleased with. As far as food, you can't go wrong with the Lavas and the mixed appetizer (this can be a meal in itself!). Vegetarians will have quite a variety of food options, piecing together sides, or going for an entree. I like the vegetable sauté, but tonight I went with the spinach and feta pide (think flat bread that has been folded up into a boat shape). This came with a little bit of mixed greens salad, raw matchstick carrots, and pickled red cabbage. All the food is arranged very nicely on the plate making for a nice presentation. The pide was yummy and I liked the pickled red cabbage. Personally, I'm not a fan of the matchstick carrots; they are challenging to eat. My only gripe has to do with the price. The sides and the mixed appetizer are a little on the high side for what you get despite the quality. But, that doesn't seem to stop me from coming back! read more

The Lavas, Babaganoush and Falafel were very good while the fried calamari were average. We enjoyed their version of Mule, Turkish Coffee Martini, Cosmopolitan a Peach Bellini. The Turkish Coffee Martini was the best of the bunch. We all ended up ordering the mixed grill for two (times three) which included Doner Kebap, Chicken and Lamb Adana Kebap, Chicken and Lamb Sis Kebap, and Chicken amd Lamb Köfte all served over rice pilaf. The food was okay, very large dinner portions and a pretty dense meal. The appetizer was pretty minimal though, especially for the cost. Everyone was pretty happy with their choices but only ate about half of their plate since there was so much food. Really enjoyed our dinner at Bosphorous Winter Garden. We sat at the bar and both gentlemen behind the bar were engaging and quick to get us drinks and dinner. They made it a very pleasant experience. We enjoyed the feta appetizer plate with the fresh puffy bread for a delicious start to our meal and really loved the moussaka, one of our favorites.
