I was really excited to go to this Turkish restaurant but the customer service needs to improve greatly. My boyfriend and I walked into this restaurant and was ignored for a good ten minutes before being seated. The gentlemen who wears glasses and typically does the "to go" orders was the only one on the floor. He seated us after ten minutes and didn't even ask what we'd like to drink. We waited a good fifteen minutes before another gentleman came who seemed as though he was actually a Turkish native and he took our order. The calamari was decent, could have used a little more flavor and the tomatoes tasted old. I tried my boyfriend's chicken platter and the chicken was drenched in oil but the seasoning was on point. The hazelnut baklava was ok but lacking chocolate. The so called "Turkish Tea" was far from tasting like Turkish tea, it was more like a British Blend tea. I've had better Turkish food for example "Rocca" cafe back in NYC and their flavors were on point with the Turkish Tradition. I would say that " Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine" is more like the McDonalds of Turkish food. Their food is far from authentic, they need Turkish natives to be cooking their food because they are more familiar with how the food recipes. Customer service is a joke, our server didn't even ask if we wanted a refill or if our food was even good. When the manager came out everybody then looked like they had a shot of caffeine and were moving like they were preparing for a race in the olympics. My server, Cristina, was super professional and expertly guided me..and several other patrons though some excellent recommendations - some of whom had specific dietary needs or allergies. I got the iskande and it was very good. I love the tomato sauce on touch with the meat bread and yogurt which was all very tasty as one and it stayed hot the entire time. One of the best Turkish restaurants in Florida by far. Not only the food but the exceptional service this place offers. Rami was our waiter and he took care of us like royalty. This restaurant is incredible! I dare say it's one of my favorite local restaurants. The staff was also wonderful. From the minute we walked in the hostess quickly sat us and super friendly. Our waiter Mario is one of a kind. I mean he literally pulled up a menu and explained each item on the menu and all his recommendations were on point. (It was our first time there and our first time enjoying Turkish food). This restaurant will not disappoint that is for sure. I'm rounding up from a 3.5 experience. I like the interior space of this restaurant. We were a group of six going for lunch and were seated in the center of the restaurant. Our party ordered a variety of entrees and from the time we ordered until the time we actually received our meals, multiple tables on either side of us had ordered, received food, ate, paid, and left. Our server was nice enough but he went missing. When we tried to flag a different waiter down, they always said our original one would be with us. Okay. Not the best customer service, and this is why I knocked a star off. Our meals arrived and I shared a lamb sis and a kofte. Both were good; I liked the pickled cabbage and rice too. I tried a small piece of a friend's lavas bread and it wasn't as good as others I've had. Otherwise, there's not much I could complain about. We have been here more times than we can remember to count. We always left with five stars. Tonight was very unusually not a good experience. We reserved and requested outdoor seating but we were told that they cannot seat eight outside. While we were being seated at 8pm we would see and hear a group of eight with no reservation being seated outside. First strike. We sat and ordered our drinks along with the food. 18 minutes later the server comes to tell us that she will get our drinks and bread soon. Another seven minutes and the drinks come. The bread came around 8:25. It came cold and only one of the 4 appetizers. Strike two. It is now 8:42 and the main dishes (2 shareable mixed grill). By now we have up on getting the replacement bread which came in two installments first around 8:50. The food was amateurishly prepared with some of it charcoaled. We talked to the manager about the missing food and delays. He promised to take care of the situation but he disappeared into the kitchen to never return until after our meal was charged and paid. He helped with a discounting and partially refunding the meal. Loyalty and history dictates we give them a second chance since the third strike was saved by the bell. read more

We were so excited to come back to Bosphorous for the first time since they re-opened in Dr. Phillips, and they did not disappoint! First, the interior is amazing and truly transports you to the Middle East with the most colorful glass mosaic lighting all around. You already know the food is amazing, but it was even BETTER than I remembered! Definitely get the lavas (pita-style bread - and LOTS of it) with some dips to start with; our favorites are the haydari (dill/mint yogurt dip), the Muhammara (red pepper and pomegranate syrup dip), and of course, humus. Just a warning, the portions are HUGE, and if you're planning on enjoying the lavas appetizer, you're not going to make it through a full entree. Desserts are also delightful from the traditional baklava to the kunefe. Be sure to also enjoy one of their cocktails - I love something a little sweeter and both the Turkish Peach Martini and Turkish Crush were delightful. This is an absolutely fantastic establishment. I came on 01/28/2022 and had a reservation for 745. I was seated promptly with my family. As a Turkish man myself, It felt very authentic with the staff being of Turkish descent. Our server Kaan was very attentive and excellent to speak with. We ordered a mixed appetizer, mixed grill for 2 and my wife got the sea bass. Everything was cooked to perfection and I had zero complaints. The meat was wonderfully seasoned; the appetizers were all made wonderfully along with the dessert. I have to make a plan to come here each time I come to Orlando. The menu was filled with several authentic dishes and a wide range of options. It's not easy to find any authentic Turkish places in Florida. If you come this establishment I request you ask to have Kaan as your server. I am so glad my family and I came here while visiting Orlando. Well.... we all became extremely HANGRY. We couldn't even focus anymore on what we wanted to do for the rest of our time there. The reviews were excellent. So.... Bosphorous it is. Final selection! Now... the other problem was.... which location? Lool!! One location was closed for renovation so that solved our dilemma. Located alongside Restaurant Row next to Starbucks, this Turkish eatery offers an approachable traditional menu to dig into. Recommended by my Turkish friend, this is a humble sized restaurant with a curbside patio as well. Service was fine, but it felt rushed even though it was during slow hours and the restaurant was almost empty. Felt like they wanted us gone asap. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Turkish cold and hot dishes, pastries, desserts, and drinks. The Turkish tea was soothing and of a variation of black tea, offered with sugar cubes. The ayra is a yogurt drink with a cheesy taste. If you like liver, you will love the fried liver appetizer. Liver can be strong and pungent, but their preparation was subdued and balanced with the red onion slaw pairing. The chicken adana kebap was flavorful and moist. The star of the show was the lamb shank. Cooked for hours (according to the menu), the meat was robust and tender. Fell apart with just a fork. If you're up for something new, give Bosphorous a try. Note: the flavors are very unique and may not be suitable for all palates. Personally some items were a bit too unique for what I'm accustomed to (the ayra was off-putting for me, and the side vegetables were a bit acidic, and proportionately imbalanced) but still delicious overall nonetheless. read more
