They had everything I needed and MORE, but the employees at the registers were not opening their registers, even though the store was open for 35 minutes and some employees were a little rude. Other than that I like this store. So if you go wich I recommend just wait until about an hour and hour and a half after they open to go. read more

In my distress I was lost, crying, unable to find a pair of right fitting pants. That is until a muffin-top haired cashier whose name I don't know came out with the flannel S on her chest. After I blinded her with my shiny head, she sprung into action from behind the counter like Captain Save-a-bro, no encouragement needed. She thought highly of me, throwing my way all the most expensive fits. I told her of my poor ways and she didn't judge not one bit. Not one bit. Not one bit. Instead she led me to economical options. She even sported nails of the highest quality tape and a crown made of fine NEPA trees so I wouldn't feel self conscious of the dust bunnies running my wallet. Next she threw pants my way with too little fabric, pants that don't even make it to the knees. I told her exotic dancing was not my profession. And she didn't judge again. Again. Again. She didn't say I should take my lowly self to a gym because I was slim deficient. She didn't remark how muscles and protein shakes exist. Instead she encouraged me to buy. Don't think of price, she said. I stared at her tape nails. She didn't believe I'd go into the red so I began to believe it too. So I bought a pair of different pants. I love coming here during the holidays. It is like a blast from the past. The neon signs, the chandeliers over the escalators, the mirrored displays and the old candy counter. There's even an old lady usually stationed at the candy counter who diligently packages your fudge. It's really a novelty to shop here, it's like getting that old department store experience. I bought one of my favorite sweatshirts here. Sad to see the restaurant gone, I never got to try it. I hope they never get rid of those neon signs. I would buy them if they did. read more

I bought Bose speakers at Boscovs years ago and purchased a lifetime warranty through Boscovs. The speakers need attention and I have been told that it's basically my problem because they do not carry speakers anymore. That is bad business to not standby something I paid for and they offered as an option for purchase. The Manager I dealt with at Hazleton did her best but the corporate leadership did not stand by their own program. I understand that you do not sell that brand speaker any longer but that is a Boscovs problem, not a me problem. Bad business. Boscovs was always a go to for me but I will be sure to spend my money at a more reputable business that stands by its policies. read more

Poor quality and service. We purchased a couch and loveseat Dec 2021. Just over a year ago. We also purchased an extended warranty that the boscovs sales associate highly recommended. This was a 5 year gold extended warranty. We are experiencing numerous issues with this furniture. Including a torn seam. Sunken in seat on couch. Back of loveseat won't stay attached. Wood chips falling out of back of couch. Serveco, the warranty company that we paid for, won't cover any of it as they say it's all manufacturer issues and poor quality furniture. They told us to contact boscovs. We could not get through to anyone via phone after multiple tries so we went into the store. The sales associate working couldn't be bothered with us and said just email boscovs. We did email including all of the information and pictures of the furniture, warranty paid for, and receipt of purchase, and in 2 days received a response that boscovs won't cover anything and to contact the furniture manufacturer. They gave a number to call which was an employment number for the furniture company. Not a number for customers. I have since emailed the furniture maker in hopes of a response. At this point, we have year old furniture, and a warranty we paid extra for, and poor quality cheap furniture that is falling apart after one year with no one offering any resolution read more

I purchased 2 pair of glasses from Boscov's Optical Department in a store close to my home. I returned twice for adjustments but my glasses still were not straight or comfortable. When I was on a shopping trip with my sisters, we stopped at Boscov's in the Laurel Mall in Hazleton, PA. When I saw that they had an Optical department, I asked for help with my ill-fitting glasses. Kim Bukavich, (#55608) the Optical Manager/Optician, had both pairs fitting comfortably in just a few minutes. She even changed the nose pads on one pair because she thought they'd cause problems for me over time. She was professional, friendly, and eager to help me. Needless to say my sisters and I were very impressed with her and her attention to detail. I think I will travel to her store for my next glasses purchase. Thank you, Kim! read more

The customer service at this location has become completely pathetic in recent years, and today's attempt to shop there has become the last. I entered this location this afternoon, as I had done several times before, to pick up some makeup on behalf of my mother. After wasting ten minutes before I could get the attention of their clerk, I was about to pay for the merchandise when she refused to take the credit card I was going to use to pay for the merchandise. The reason? The credit card happened to be my mother's, not mine. In all the years I have been shopping at this location (and other stores), I have never been met with such resistance. Both their clerk and their store manager claimed that a "banking act" is to blame. Considering that I have done such transactions and errands for my mother in the past, at Boscov's and other stores, this excuse I was given is a red herring at best, and complete bullshit to be perfectly honest. The clerk complained that she could "lose her job" if she took my mother's credit card for the transaction. Apparently times have changed from when one could lose their job for NOT doing their job! Also apparently, the aphorism "The customer is always right" no longer holds true at Boscov's. As I told both their clerk and their store manager this afternoon, if I wanted to get jerked off, I'd find a hooker somewhere downtown and only have to pay a tenth of what the sale their clerk refused would have come to. It is increasingly apparent that maybe Boscov's would have been better off going out of business. I don't know about the Hazleton location, but at least in the case of the Wilkes-Barre store, the Barnes & Noble next door could move in and be able to stock more culturally necessary and beneficial merchandise than the crap you have been peddling since Big Al took the stores back over. read more
