It had fought off a lot of what was effecting malls at the time. But that seems to be catching up to LVM. See all that LVM had staved off but as of recent it is not immune to it all. They lost Sears as an anchor, which was no surprise as they are all out of everywhere you go. They have also, as of recent, lost the movie theater, which that means two anchor spots are now gone in this once thriving mall. That is not fairing well with the rest of the mall. Stores have been vacating for a while and there are not many businesses clamoring to fill those vacated spots. As of recent there are stores that are vacating for freestanding buildings or strip malls that are just outside the mall properties. Like Johnstown, what LVM has effected is now coming back to effect the mall. The movie theater across the street closed up shop and now the theater in the mall closed up shop due to a newer theater opening elsewhere. Where that movie theater once was located across the street now is owner of buildings that house businesses once in the mall. It's like going full circle or something. There are corridors in the mall that just feel dead because on one side of the mall there is not a single storefront open, and on the other it is totally occupied by one business. The food court feels empty and on its way to housing one eatery like Johnstown. I hope that Altoona is able to pull in some newer stores soon, or it will end up like Johnstown. The mall in Johnstown is on its last leg, and on the verge of being a dead mall.

It was clean,…read moresmelled like a normal retail store, well designed (I have worked for major retailers including Disney), had mostly brand new clothing and gorgeous formal gowns for girls. The service was nice. I did notice the super small to max sizes were mostly up to L to XL and there was a ton of variation in selections. I felt like if I shopped here I wouldn't run into 20 other women wearing the same outfit! Which, in a smaller area like this is huge! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that you do need to have coins for parking at the meters which I had no clue about when I went, but that can't be helped and really its super cheap metered parking so no big deal! I will be happy to go back to shop again. I got great deals and I love everything I got there.

Also, perhaps, the word, "Exchange" should be omitted, since the majority of your merchandise is marked new. There does seem to be a misunderstanding of how you define exchange versus a consignment shop. No Sherry, there is no misunderstanding , just a marketing misrepresentation on your part. As an example on your recent post; A purse, perhaps a Chinese-faux manufacturing brand listed for $45.00, does not fall under a ($) one dollar expenditure store for consumer market. Be kinder to families in the area who want to support local businesses, but have restricted budgets. UPDATE 6/7/2020. I'm going to be honest here, I still view Claire's how it was back in the 90s, the place to get your ears pierced and then move on from there. Maybe the reason I never shopped there was because after getting my ears pierced, I obviously did not want the trinket earrings that they sold. As for now, it appears like not much has changed. Same type of fast fashion, throw away merchandise that if you wear the earrings too long your parts of the body you have it in/on will turn green. I'm well aware that they do sell other items besides jewelry and they do seem to be branching out to hair items, phone cases, and some types of makeup. Even though they seem to have thrived in the mall environment in the late 90s, early 2000s, I see them exiting that format soon. Just take a look at your nearby Walmart the next time you stop in. You might just see a Claire's in one of their front spaces.

I was looking for a pair of Ariat boots and found several pair marked as on sale for $29.91! At checkout I bought other things but the price of the boots came up as over $100.00! I asked for the manager and when she came over she told me that the prices on ALL THE BOOTS in the store was WRONG! She could not give me the boots for the advertised price. When I got home I followed up and talked to another manager and he said something was not right about the way I was treated and agreed to help me out. That was about 2 weeks ago and after talking to him several times, he promised me to make things right. As of today, two weeks later nothing had been done! I even emailed Corporate and they never replied! Not a good experience. They don't seem to care about either their customers or the accuracy of their boot prices!
