Apparently…read more I took my daughter and her friend in here, after a lunch (please remember this was post a heavy lunch!). We met my daughter's friend's Dad and little brother, and they asked if they could join us. The more the merrier! Now, I haven't been bowling for years. But what fun we had. Needless to say, the Dad won and little brither lost and I'm not telling you who was where in between, but is so satisfying to watch your ball rumble down the middle of the lane! This place serves food - fast food, which is fairly inexpensive. Bowling for two children and one adult was £13.05. Try working that one out! I thought it was a bit steep. The staff seem a bit bored and the shock of the noisey music makes you unable to hear them or be heard. However, at the lanes the music is less noisey and most heard is laughter and shouts of pleasure or disappointment. Mostly my shouts were pleasure or encouragement, but I beganto flag very slightly at the end as this is a real workout if you've eaten lunch! All in all, I recommend this, and I'm going back for sure.

I LAUGHED MYSELF SILLY playing crazy golf here last week. 2 courses, 18 holes and an active volcano (not a real one obv). The course is spankingly new and looks like a set from Tomb Raider, all vines and fake temple ruins, swamp etc The course takes an hour in total and is a great way to have fun, and like me, get your competive edge out. You don't have to take kids with you, just go with your mates - its more active for brain and body than sitting in the pub. It's not expensive either - about £7 and lots of concessions available - kids, students and OAPs. The 'Hideout' cafe is also good for a simple cuppa and a cake after your game. Loser buys the drinks!

But he thing is, it's really expensive for what is essentially nothing more than your standard, run of the mill Butlins inspired mini golf. The holes weren't imaginative. Nothing like the mind-blowing mini golf I experienced in Queenstown, New Zealand where your ball rolled into a miniature roller coaster, and a castle, and a HUGE exploding volcano. No, this one does nothing like that. What's worse is that it's really expensive. I guess kids may enjoy it, but for anyone older that the age of 12 will find it boring and repetitive.

There were many employees, most of them were axe throwing or standing behind the bar. We waited at the entrance for a bit before my partner went up to an employee at the axe throwing area to ask if we could be directed to the Crazier Golf. He led us to the back and said, "I'll be back to give you instructions." Forty-five minutes later (so now an hour past our booking), my partner found him axe throwing again and asked if we could just get the putters and balls, and we could figure it out from there. And that's exactly what happened. He begrudgingly left axe throwing, walked to the back of the room, handed us golf balls, then left. Online it says, "You might have played Crazy Golf... but you've never seen it this Crazy. Catapults, loops, conveyors, we've got it all. Don't be afraid to bring a bevvy on the course... all the best players give their best performance after some Dutch courage." Nine holes, takes about forty-five minutes. It took us maybe ten (then again, we had the course entirely to ourselves). It was so much less fun than advertised. The course has seen some serious wear and tear; every putter, every golf ball, every surface was sticky with alcohol. Maybe we're not the demographic for this. I see other people love it; we don't. There's better ways to spend your time in this beautiful city!
