However, that can make it a little trickier to get to, and bear in mind any taxi rides if you are tempted by the decent value green fees. I often use a course in Balham which is more easily accessible, but the quality of this course means i will probably be back again. Even though I really enjoy this public golf course the fact that I had to wait at least 30 minutes for each tee is a downside I just can't deal with. As Derek said it is rather impossible to find your game rhythm when each round exceeds 5 hours.

The course is undulating, with tufts of gorse and heather about the place. I don't notice a lot of rough, but then I'm no expert. The greens do look wonderfully manicured, and I should think there's quite a bit of wildlife making a home here. If you're a golfer and you're in the area, a game is probably a must here. Not my bag though.

It's a course plus driving range and bar/shop - turn up and play, not stuffy at all. We paid a tenner for 150 balls and had nice 40 mins smacking them all over the place. Everything is automatic, you don't even need to bend down - the ball goes onto the automatic tee for you. No idea if this is normal, but it's a nice plus!

A lovely little park in the South West suburbs, close to Southfields and Wimbledon Park tube…read morestationand not so far away or as big as Wimbledon Common for the residents of Earlsfield and Wandsworth. A flat park, with lush green fields, perfect for ball games, flying model airplanes, picnics in summer etc There is a large lake with many ducks who just love to be fed your scraps of bread! Great for the kids There are several intersecting paths for leisurely afternoon strolls, a football club, tennis club, and even a clubhouse cafe for a lazy afternoon of tea and cake. The thing I like about this park is that it isn't really big enough to get lost in, and you can see where you are (for bearings) at all times, because it's flat, unlike Wimbledon Common. Just make sure you don't go off track and end up on the adjoining golf course! There is no way out once you find yourself in and the golf club members don't take too kindly to 'Sunday walkers' getting in!
