Commerce Hill arrived within an hour and was extremely flexible in scheduling the planning the following day. David Dougiello was our mentor during the entire process and did an amazing job of accommodating our requests and taking care of every little detail. We were able to focus our entire energy on the family and helping each other grieve. David and the entire staff went above and beyond to explain everything, offered a no-pressure approach to making decisions that were best for our family, and took care of every little detail leading up to and including the funeral and burial. Thanks to everyone for the support. Please make sure you seek out David and work with him as he is trustworthy, compassionate, and incredibly attentive to detail to help you through your difficult time.

All the staff members were very nice. The facility has a gigantic parking lot to accommodate large gatherings. They also have the only crematory in Fairfield county. I moved far away from Connecticut and I asked Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory to assist me in removing my father's body from the cemetery and doing a cremation. John Esposito was present during all phases of this journey. He coordinated the meeting with the medical examiner. After the medical examiner did his certification, the cremation was performed on their premises. John Esposito allowed us to witness the cremation. They waited until we arrived before beginning the cremation. I felt consoled to be able to be part of the last passage. And honesty is also a part of their business. We had paid our bill upfront and after they saw the casket, they refunded us $500 dollars from the bill because they said that an all wood casket was less expensive to cremate. When you need funeral services, I highly recommend Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory. They will treat you kindly and do very professional work.

Everything we needed during that difficult time. I was also expecting a high pressure sales environment and was on my guard for anything that seemed self serving (I'm suspicious and skeptical by nature). Our experience was the exact opposite of that expectation. From the basic planning to the extra arrangements we were dealt with more than fairly and even talked out of what I thought would have been easy (and not superfluous) upsale. In this age of large companies we all have become accustomed to giving up on customer service and personal attention to detail. Mullis Funeral home is one of those rare places that still prides itself on the customer's happiness and value. Im lucky to have had the experience that allowed me the opportunity to write this review.

My family is still reeling from the insensitive way Mullins handled our mom's burial today…read more The representative from Mullins rushed the entire thing as if he was late for an appointment. First, he asked us to follow the hearse in our car, then halfway through the ride, he blew a yellow light and kept going. At the cemetery it was rush, rush, rush. The final blow was, as I collected the other half of the funeral home's payment from my sister, the Mullins guy took my place as pallbearer and carried my mom to her grave without me. The other pallbearers protested, but he ignored them. We were in and out of the cemetery in about 20 minutes. This was as cold and uncaring an experience as I've ever had. My sister left in tears over it. And I was robbed of the experience of carrying my mom to her final resting place, all because the Mullins guy was late for lunch or something. My family will hurt for a long time because of it.

In that span of time, changes at the funeral home have been inevitable, but one thing that remains constant is how the staff delivers a professional, compassionate and unsurpassed level of service meant for royalty. Pam, Becky, Terese, and the rest of the staff attend to every detail and never fail to treat me like family. During my last ordeal, they wrapped around me with comfort and, in turn, made a devastating situation of the short-lived life of my son bearable. In fact, just knowing my son would initially arrive from out of state into Becky's blessed hands helped me in the earliest moments of our trauma. To this day, what also brings me great comfort is remembering how angelic and peaceful my son looked in an expertly and lovingly staged backdrop. I will always highly recommend this funeral home.

We did so, and I really got to see first-hand how kind and caring they are. Chris and an associate came to the house to pick up my daughter, and they were so patient as the family said their good-byes. They handled my baby with such care. Afterward, my son-in-law interacted with them and he is not the most knowledgeable person. Again, Chris was just so wonderful and patient. I cannot thank the Gees and their associates enough for their kindness. Knowing my daughter was in such good hands was comforting to the entire family. And they didn't try to overcharge us, or sell us things we didn't want. Although it is a business, they never treated us as if they were only interested in the bottom line. It may sound strange, but if I'm in Bridgeport when I pass, this is the place I want to handle my remains. Thank you so much, Lester Gee and company. My family and I really appreciate you.

Amazing that the company is now posting here, talking about family dynamics to which they have no actual knowledge. Further, leaving my name off of the paperwork, is likely a felony, as the documents are related to probate court. P.S. to Meoba (who posted a five star review even though they work for the company)...the person I spoke with on the phone, told me their name was Abraham. I have it recorded. Shame me? Abraham Green Funeral Home attempts to SHAME customers into taking down negative reviews? MY GOODNESS DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Here's the 2010 email they are threatening me with: Cheryl - Yes, I'm aware that Judaism frowns upon cremation. However, there isn't anything in the law that explains what to do if one doesn't have the means, in this modern age, to pony up the absurd $7k price tag. Honestly, if you think a proper Jewish burial is the way to do this, then I suggest you contact whatever synagogue would be proper/open to listening, and explain the situation and see if they have a fund for such a scenario or congregants who are willing to donate the money. Otherwise, I see no happenstance that will allow for that kind of expenditure. Thanks, Marc THIRD EDIT: The company took down their "review" that revealed my personal information.
