We were told we would be given one plot for my loved one and then when we arrived for the burial,…read moreanother plot had been dug. When asked afterwards, we were told there was a huge rock that forced them to give us another plot. A few weeks ago, the Stamford Advocate had an article about issues with this cemetery, one issue was the same we experienced. Another family had also been told a boulder caused them to be given a different plot. Additionally, it has been one year and 5 months since my father's death and his veteran foot stone has not been placed. We were assured approximately one month ago that it was ordered and would be placed within a week or so...still not done! I would not recommend this cemetery because they have a shady past and do not live up to their commitment or basic requirements. It is not well maintained and you get nowhere with the administration. DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!! If this is not resolved immediately, I will be filing a formal complaint. I would give negative stars if I could!

The young man from the funeral home who directed our loved one's service played the piano and sang like a pro--he was gracious, empathetic, and quietly dignified. They took extra care to find a preacher from my relative's country to lead the services--that was such a thoughtful touch. Please move away from money grubbing funeral homes like the one in Canarsie that everyone goes to -- they don't care about you nor your family member. Harmony proves that you can provide an important service to your community without emotionally nor financially blackmailing families to pay for unnecessary costs. Their prices are extremely fair and their service and attention to detail is top-notch.

Here's a sample of our…read moreexperience: 1) We received the very steep bill in mid-September, along with sympathy cards and Mass cards that we received after the Masses were celebrated. 2) We specifically requested that our Mom's rosary be removed prior to burial for Dad to keep. It wasn't done. 3) We requested to have the hearse ride past two homes that meant a great deal to Mom - and are a stone's throw from the cemetery. That wasn't done, either. There were other examples of half effort and lack of attention to detail. Overall, the level of service and care seems to have fallen far from where it used to be.
