Daniel and his office staff were very responsive when we reached out and got a drywall quote and…read moresigned the contract. After that, communication fell off quickly. The initial crew that showed up only did part of what was listed out in the contract. Daniel came back out to inspect their work and agreed that it was not complete per the contract and that it would need to be finished correctly. We set a date for the completion of the contract a few weeks ahead. One the day Daniel was supposed to show up, no one did, no call, nothing. I emailed, called, texted DRS for the next week and no one from DRS got back to me until 2 weeks later when someone "on behalf" of DRS called to schedule work....I was still unable to get ahold of Daniel or the office. We scheduled a date, and once again no one showed up, no call, nothing. I have still been calling, texting and emailing all the contacts I have for DRS and am still unable to get a hold of anyone. DRS has the inital $1000 deposit on my project and as far as I'm concerned they took my money and ran.

Our anger has subsided but the disappointment and regret has not…read more Chad's carpentry and plumbing skills were adequate; his electrical work was unprofessional, dangerous, and not to code (electrical wire for the fireplace fans was cut and not properly re-connected; wires were spliced behind a wall with no junction box; and wires were spliced and sandwiched between the wood base of the (off-center) hearth and directly on carpet. We hired a qualified contractor to correct these dangerous safety issues and they will attest to this. A rotted/termite-destroyed stud was not repaired or replaced. Their drywall and Christa's painting skills were sad - nails were popping out; an electrical outlet was covered; and new drywall was not sanded smooth or primed before a very thin and uneven coat of paint was sprayed on the bare drywall. We sanded and repainted every single wall ourselves. Half-way through the project, we sent an email to CDS outlining the remaining items to be completed and/or corrected. They replied, in part: "... we are not preforming up your standards ... find another contractor..." We did. We have photos and video clips of CDS's poor workmanship to backup this review.

They patched holes and skim coated whole ceiling (we had removed popcorn after leaks). Pricing was on par/slightly less in some cases with other estimates we got. He gave us the option to get our own supplies (which was cheaper) and the supplier he suggested was great to work with. They are licensed and insured and write a fair contract to keep everyone protected. Very easy to communicate and work with. Overall job took about 3 days I think, including time to let mud dry. Consisted of 2 guys who were good steady workers. They did a solid job, not perfect but solid. Looks like nothing ever happened. If you look close around the edges you can see some imperfections. Given the state our house started in, we were very content with good but not perfect. They finished staying within estimate and also on the lower end fo the time estimate he gave me. They used caulk to clean up edges which I hadnt seen from the other drywaller we used in the past but I think everyone has a different system. We would use them again ... though hopefully we dont have anymore roof leaks -ha!
