Azar Nut Company - Buying in bulk and it's not that expensive

Azar! If I was a larper that would be the name of my Clan. All hail Azar!…read more Okay, but seriously this nut shop is pretty legit. You can actually order online and they are a real deal nut factory, but I used to live nearby so when in Rome. The first time I came to Azar I was actually surprised by how small it was. I was expecting something so much larger because of the ridiculous amount of assorted nuts and candies they carry. But what was there, was more than enough. The selection is limited to about five or six shelves with three or four bags of each item. No joke there was a lady taking one (sometimes two or three) of everything. Every time I stood in front of a new product, she wedged herself between me and the bag of nuts and said, "Sorry, gotta get this one too." She may or may not have began petting a bag of maple flavored assorted nuts while purring the words, "Mine, mine, mine." What really amazed me was the ludicrously low prices. I walked out of this place with a tin of mixed nuts, flavored nuts, and gummy bears for less than $15. Sweet! There was a single employee in the store manning both the register and the phones so she periodically disappeared, but rang me up quickly when I was ready to go. Definitely check out the website and order some tasty snacks, but if you have the chance go in, load up, and avoid those pesky shipping fees.

I made a reservation and our family of 5 had an incredible dinner. The service was exceptional - he was so attentive and wanted to make sure everything was just right. The food was some of the best we've eaten. The menu was diverse, and everything sounded so interesting. We had the pulled pork bao tacos for an appetizer, which were perfection - I could have just eaten them all night. My daughter ordered the green chili alfredo, which was as delicious as it was interesting. I ordered the pesto divorciados, and it had such complex flavors that paired together perfectly. My wife ordered the baked penne, and it was also just as delicious. We all agreed that all three entrees were just next level. My two youngest kids got kids' meals, which were homemade, delicious, and very kid-friendly. The atmosphere was fun, festive, and perfect for a date night or a fun night out with friends. We will absolutely eat there again before we leave town. Run don't walk to this restaurant.

We started with hot and sour soup. Delicious! And given that 2 of the 4 of us have been fighting bronchitis, it opened up our sinuses! My "make it or break it" staple is pork fried rice, and their version is different but wonderful. So many places the rice is oily and saturated with soy sauce. Not here. Very simple, plentiful chunks of pork, egg and rice with scallions. Flavored perfectly and a generous portion. The star of the meal was the honey walnut prawns. They were giant prawns, served with rice and a bit of steamed broccoli. They will always be a dish on future visits! We got the special of salt and pepper fish, and it was delicious. I was expecting a whole fish but the dish was bite sized fillets, perfectly fried and depending if you ate the peppers, a nice zing of flavor. We also had beef with string beans and it was quite good. I love crispy green beans and these were perfectly done. Next time it's noodles and buns, to explore! The restaurant had nods to cities with large Chinatown communities, Seattle and San Francisco were 2 of the street signs I was, and it made me happy to have a new find for Chinese food that doesn't require a plane flight!

They were almost empty. The dough was pretty good but nothing to write home about and without much filling it just felt like dough. The sauce seemed like just the chilli crisp you get on the side of dumplings so it felt there just wasn't much to this dish with it also not having muhc filling. The serving size seemed small for the price. The plan was to have a full dinner also the Brown Sugar Rice Cakes (egg free and dairy free) for dessert but we decided to move on after trying the first dish. It's nice they have clearly labeled vegan options and the outside seating was nice but unfortunately we were not impressed. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
