This small and delightfully decorated restaurant is…read morepretty much in the middle of nowhere but is so good if you do make it out to NW9, you'll not be sorry. I was a firm Jakarta fan after trying the tofu satay, which was just like chicken satay, but you guessed it..vegetarian. I can not say enough about this place. Start off with the complimentary prawn crackers, get a satay (meat or otherwise) then try the Gado-Gado for a light meal, or a curry or stir fry dish for a heavier one. They also do a mean coconut rice for an little extra treat.

It is slightly off the beaten track, but I can definitely confirm it is worth making the effort to visit for a lunch or dinner. The restaurant has traditional decor and Music giving the customer an traditional and authentic dining experience. This place was recommended by a friend, and I wouldn't usually go out of my way to go to dine around Colindale, but I really wanted to find a nice Indonesian and it turned out to be great, I am really glad that I went. The quality of the food is excellent, with a wide range of cuisine, be prepared if you have a delicate stomach, the curries can be quite spicy. The food is very fresh, and the décor is typical of its culture. This place is very popular so it is worth ringing ahead to book. The restaurant also has Lunch specials all week.

Sorry, Nancy Lam I like you. I really want to write a good review…read more But I have to honest. You can call me traditional, but I don't like fusion food. Wine was expensive. Tiny portions, and I didn't feel satisfied at all. I'm glad that you're able to cater different group of customers. Nice place. But, it just didn't do it for me. Enak enak means "delicious" in Indonesian language.

But what I do ask for in these recession hit times is a decent amount of food for my hard earned pounds. £8.50 for 7 prawns cooked in way too much soy? Have a day off Nancy, you're most definitely having a laugh. Most of my companion's dishes looked slightly better than my disastrous choice. A green curry tasted good and was bigger than my portion. But really for the price and location this is a bit over-priced, not massively, but enough to leave a rather bitter taste in your mouth. The restaurant was very quiet (we were the only table on a Saturday night) saying that, the service was really friendly and good. Really wanted to like this place as have heard some ok things, but alas, I can't really recommend. Value for money these days is expected in some shape or form when you hit up the local restaurants, this one I'm afraid offered none and is all the worse for it. Boo.

We ordered two drinks under the happy hour special, which meant we received four--but all of the same drink. While the lychee martini sounded promising, it was far sweeter than I prefer, likely masking the fact that it had barely any alcohol in it. My sister's margarita was also disappointing, tasting mediocre at best. For food, we ordered the Wings of Fire, the Deep-fried Seabass, and the Lamb Chops. Unfortunately, the wings were heavily battered, overcooked, and underwhelming--just like the rest of the meal. The seabass had decent presentation, but it lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. The lamb, while tender and falling off the bone, was overly sweet, with the red peppers adding nothing to balance it out. Both entrées came with rice, and while the portion sizes were generous, the seasoning was lacking--garlic, onion, ginger, salt, and pepper would have made a world of difference. Service-wise, it was good but painfully slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Even settling the bill took longer than expected. The bathrooms could use some attention, as paper was scattered across the floor. On a positive note, they get a 10/10 for music--loud enough to enjoy but still at a level where we could hold a conversation. I probably won't return.

It was also very close to the Underground station so folks like me wouldn't have to worry. The Mai tai I had was a delicious and only £5 during happy hour. My beef negril satay was SO good that I ended up ordering it twice lol. My prawn chips were yummy too. I was very satisfied and the items the rest of the group had were delicious too. The only annoyance I had was because we were sitting outside, we had to order everything inside. It's a bit inconvenient to have to get up and order something every time you're hungry / thirsty. They should have had at least one server outside.
