    kari ayam and nasi goreng

a humble establishment in a popular area of london. stopped by on a weekday at 12:30 for lunch and the restaurant had plenty of space. service was quick. we asked for the lunch menu which is an excellent deal. i got the vegetable soup as a starter but i think they gave me prawn soup instead. spicier and saltier than i expected. the kari ayam was wonderful for a cold day. it's not too spicy but still warming and rich in flavor. portions are a bit lacking in vegetables. for the price point though, its a definite to-go

Went to London for vacation and ate here on the first night. Love it and enjoyed the atmosphere. Tasted authentic.

    Traditional spicy Indonesian food.

The food and the service was outstanding. Spicy, flavorful and quick to come out. I would definitely eat here again.

Decided to check this place out because it had a tripadvisor sticker on the window. The restaurant was empty around 5 when I went. The owner greeted me and was super friendly! Unfortunately the dish I got (its was a curry chicken?) was mediocre. Maybe I ordered one of the unpopular dishes but I didn't really like it. The chicken was kinda dry and crispy. I was hoping for something tender, especially since it is a curry dish. I will have to try out this place one more time and hopefully I'll get something better.

The service is friendly, and the atmosphere feels local. Overall, not bad at all--worth a visit for a genuine taste of Indonesia!

This place is excellent and probably one of the best places to eat in central London (if you like Malay food).

Tiny portions, and I didn't feel satisfied at all. I'm glad that you're able to cater different group of customers. Nice place. But, it just didn't do it for me. Enak enak means "delicious" in Indonesian language.

But what I do ask for in these recession hit times is a decent amount of food for my hard earned pounds. £8.50 for 7 prawns cooked in way too much soy? Have a day off Nancy, you're most definitely having a laugh. Most of my companion's dishes looked slightly better than my disastrous choice. A green curry tasted good and was bigger than my portion. But really for the price and location this is a bit over-priced, not massively, but enough to leave a rather bitter taste in your mouth. The restaurant was very quiet (we were the only table on a Saturday night) saying that, the service was really friendly and good. Really wanted to like this place as have heard some ok things, but alas, I can't really recommend. Value for money these days is expected in some shape or form when you hit up the local restaurants, this one I'm afraid offered none and is all the worse for it. Boo.

Their flavors for the most part were right, portions are small, and prices are high which contrasts for its norm, since this is street food in Singapore which would cost 3-6$ a plate. Would recommend a more Peranakan decor to make this place feel like Bugis in Singapore. Hainanese chicken rice- good chicken, soup was way too salty that it was nota drinkable at all. Rice was right flavor but wrong texture. Maybe the certain rice can't be found in UK. Seafood Chow fun- I was actually impressed with the chow fun part that charred part and the oily noodles that require high heat and high oil to make it that texture. this dish was good. Would highly recommend it. Chinese leaf- just dressed up Napa cabbage but well done. Salt and pepper shrimp were also not bad The hakkien mee was good but was a little sweeter than what I remembered from Singapore.
