    kari ayam and nasi goreng

a humble establishment in a popular area of london. stopped by on a weekday at 12:30 for lunch and the restaurant had plenty of space. service was quick. we asked for the lunch menu which is an excellent deal. i got the vegetable soup as a starter but i think they gave me prawn soup instead. spicier and saltier than i expected. the kari ayam was wonderful for a cold day. it's not too spicy but still warming and rich in flavor. portions are a bit lacking in vegetables. for the price point though, its a definite to-go

Went to London for vacation and ate here on the first night. Love it and enjoyed the atmosphere. Tasted authentic.

    Traditional spicy Indonesian food.

The food and the service was outstanding. Spicy, flavorful and quick to come out. I would definitely eat here again.

Decided to check this place out because it had a tripadvisor sticker on the window. The restaurant was empty around 5 when I went. The owner greeted me and was super friendly! Unfortunately the dish I got (its was a curry chicken?) was mediocre. Maybe I ordered one of the unpopular dishes but I didn't really like it. The chicken was kinda dry and crispy. I was hoping for something tender, especially since it is a curry dish. I will have to try out this place one more time and hopefully I'll get something better.

The service is friendly, and the atmosphere feels local. Overall, not bad at all--worth a visit for a genuine taste of Indonesia!

This place is excellent and probably one of the best places to eat in central London (if you like Malay food).

Nothing sounded that enticing and most all seemed very overpriced. As we continued to wander around, we encountered Warung and knew we were going to feast on one of their curries. I ordered their simple Malay chicken curry over rice and he ordered their beef rendang over rice. I don't recall seeing any vegetarian options. But both curries were really good and well-balanced! And BOTH were only 5£. It was quite an extraordinary amount of food for such a small price. It was also topped with fried onions and a bit of lettuce. The business is around all days of the week except Thursdays. You can see more about them here: https://www.facebook.com/KualaLumpurCafe I do recommend this place to someone looking for a cheap lunch in London if you're in the area.

The food itself is decent and very tasty. You get noodles or rice, curry, chili flakes, fried onions and some lettuce on top all for a fiver! which in my experience is pretty good seeing as a boots meal deal is now around that cost and this was definitely tastier! Will definitely try again next time I'm working in London!

We were tired after exploring Leicester Sq, and the Trafalgar area and looking for quick food. Googled and found this, looked very bright and quick grab, so decided to try this There's also a short menu of noodles and soups served in cardboard bowls. Inside, it's bright yellow and cheerful, but the vibe is grab-and-go, with just a sprinkling of seats. We ordered *Curry Chicken Potato puff - spicy mix inside, crunchy outside. It's commonly stuffed with curried chicken or potatoes and is a hybrid of other food items. It blends cornish pasties, samosas, and empanadas in the most beautiful way. * Fried Laksa Noodle with Sambal (Shrimp noodles) Joint runs by the owner and, I guess, his daughter. The owner was very polite and helpful, and made us go through the menu. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. Vibe was chill. It's near Covent Garden, so it's always lively. Note: when we sat out, the owner immediately came and warned us about how thieves are active in this area, and last night, someone stole a phone from the table, and the owner had to go to the police station to help his customer (just wanted to put this)
