I consider it a true blessing to have been referred to Yazmin and Born 2 Swim. I am a parent of a child with developmental delays. There were milestones we never knew if or when my son would achieve them, and it is thanks to the efforts of his physical therapists and these swimming instructors, that my child has surpassed expectations! Hands down, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND "BORN 2 SWIM AQUATIC ACADEMY" to train ANY CHILD how to swim. My 4 year old little girl had been through 3 different swim schools prior to deciding to commit to Born 2 Swim's DAILY PRIVATE LESSONS because I simply didn't want to go EVERYDAY, Monday-Friday but OMG, what a truly amazing experience I had. Lets begin by noting that NONE of the other swim schools allowed me to watch the lessons because they felt that the kids did better without the distraction of a parent but NOT THIS ONE. It was quite the contrary, they REQUIRE an adult to be present ALL THE TIME. Their philosophy is "your child didn't make the decision to take swimming lessons, YOU DID. Therefore, how can making a child do something that they DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO, with a STRANGER and someone they DON'T WANT TO DO IT WITH be a rewarding experience WITHOUT at the very least, the positive verbal & visual support of someone the child is familiar with." I won't lie and tell you that going everyday didn't get tiring and that none of the kids cried but... the GENUINE patience & love for kids that the instructors had was inspiring and I am FINALLY able to enjoy the water with my little girl. The fact is that I NEVER UNDERSTOOD why my daughter couldn't learn to swim because in my memory, swimming lessons were fun but I now understand that MOST KIDS are just afraid of the unknown and we as parents have UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS of what our kids are capable of. Highly recommend! Both of my sons (3yrs & 22m) have been taking survival and swimming lessons here for about a month now and I couldn't be happier with the results and the incredible progress they have made in such a short period of time. After doing extensive research, I found that Born 2 Swim seemed like the best choice for my family, so I visited their facility. They were very helpful and informative, but my final "decision maker" was watching an 8 month old baby swim, float, and "save" himself in the water; followed by, a very caring instructor providing security and reassurance with the deepest level of tenderness. Like everything in life, it does take commitment and time for the lessons to be effective. The classes are 1 on 1 for 15 minutes a day, for about 4 to 6 weeks. Giving our boys the skills to survive a potential drowning (or extra an "life line") was a priority for my family; if you're reading this, it is for you too! More over, I would have to disagree with some of the postings below. Going into our 3rd week of lessons, both of my boys got sick with ear infections, therefore, impeding them to continue lessons for that week. Born 2 Swim was extremely understanding, they simply asked that I provide them with a Dr.'s note. (As a business owner, I completely understand the need for proper documentation as well as an acceptable reason for missing lessons, wouldn't you?). Not only did they give me a credit for that week, but they also held both of my son's time slots. Guess everyone's experience may be different or perhaps some parents just can't handle watching a child learn survival skills as it can be a little off putting at first, but in reality there isnt going to be someone there to coddle your child if they fall in a pool when no ones around.... that doesnt mean the instructors dont show compassion. My son came to the school scared to even put his head under the shower. He clinged and screamed like a little monkey to his instructor the first week. He ended up graduating within three weeks...a week ahead of time. Eric works wonders with kids...I've referred a few friends that have all had great experiences. Eric is an extremely flexible instructor tailoring his teaching style to suit the age and personality of the child. He's extremely caring for all the kids he works with. And the same could be said and seen about the other instructors. To watch my 3 yr old go from being afraid of even letting go of an instructor to jumping and diving into the pool within a matter of a month is truly remarkable. The pool and facilities have always been clean..but let's be honest these are kids and accidents happen. When it does occur they are quick to respond and clean the pool right away. My son is in fun group and again Matt is awesome with the kids...they all love him and jump on him and play...it's pretty cool...and of course my 3 yr old has a little crush on one of the new girl instructors...it's been really cool watching all this and everyday he asks if we are going to swim class. read more

I work in a pediatric ER and every year I see little lives critically injured or at times too late for us to safe them. It's devestating to see the families torn apart and blaming themselves. We knew living in Miami and working on the health field that teaching our children how to swim would be a priority. We looked for places and did our research until we found Yazmin!!! I thought she was Amazing.!!! How does she do it??!!! I invited my husband to see the results for himself and from the first day he was sold. We have an incredible respect for her and her staff. Both of my children learned to swim at Born2Swim many years ago. The owner and staff are very well versed on techniques to teach young children to swim. When we first met the staff at Born2swim, my children were 1 1/2 and 6 months old. We had attended 3 other swimming schools in the area for my 1 1/2 year old and felt as though we had been robbed. During my 1 1/2 year olds first class, Yas asked me why my 6 month old son wasn't learning too. At this point, I was quite skeptacle of anything that a swim teacher suggested because of my bad experience, but I trusted her, and had both of my kids swimming in 2 weeks. A priceless gift which I will be eternally grateful for as my son, the 6 month old, was later diagnosed with Autism. The leading cause of death for Autistic children is drowning, so being able to give him that gift, and love of the water has been priceless. My son is now 8 years old, and as soon as spring time rolls around, he jumps right into the water, with the biggest smile you have every seen; and I smile too, knowing that he has been taught my the best professionals in their field. read more

I too am caught off guard when I read the negative reviews given to this swim academy. Teaching children of all ages how to survive in the water is not a luxury it is a necessity. My daughter has been going to born to swim for over seven weeks and she is able to survive in the unfortunate event she should fall in a pool or body of water. Being a floridian, one is constantly being surrounded by water. My daughter's first teacher was Anita and we LOVE her. She has been nothing but kind, nurturing, knowledgeable, and professional. I will forever be thankful to Anita for her patience with my daughter and her persistence in seeing that she graduated. My daughter has now graduated and is in classes with Eric and he is also very kind, nurturing, knowledgeable, and professional. I have always had a positive experience with the front desk as they are always with a smile on their face and when I hAve needed special accommodations, they have always had a positive attitude and have made my wishes come true. My only regret is not putting my little girl in born to swim last year when she was younger. read more

Im not exactly sure why other reviewers experience was as aweful as they state. My son of 3 years has been currently enrolled in the survival program for 3 weeks. He floats and swims underwater, and as to the instructor; (Eric) he is warm, kind, and has bonded wonderfully with my son. As far as the front desk goes I find the receptionists to be kind and helpful, and to the statememt that was made about the pools water, it cant possibly be more hygenic. The water has a solar cleaning system, and they replace the water each time a child has an accident in the pool. Parents inform yourself. If you have concers do not bark. Ask questions and get involved. My personal experience has been wonderful. My son loves the water and I feel relieved that he has the much needed skill to save himself in case of an emergency. Everyones experience is different but they work with you, and they try their best to make the customer happy. I cant complain and I'd highly recommend this program to anyone with children. read more

I am sorry for your bad experience, but are we talking about the same Company and Employees? I shopped around first and found Born 2 Swim to be the most professional group out of the bunch. Both of my Boys learned about water safety and how to save themselves if they fell into a body body of water, not to mention on how to swim. I owe it all to Born 2 Swim for the peace of mind I have when my kids are around water like the pool, beach, lake, etc. I guess we can all have a bad day, but I would do it all over again with Born 2 Swim if I had to and I personally have recommended Born 2 Swim to everyone I have come in contact with looking for water safety and swimming knowledge. Have you ever heard the say, "this is as good as it gets"? Well that is how I feel about Born 2 Swim. From the moment we walked in to get information, we knew we had found the right place for our children to learn to swim. Every detail of how they conduct lessons to the importance of a parents active participation was explained and the family fun fridays allow us parents to learn from the teachers how to work as a team. My 3 year old is now with Cristy in a Fun Club group and our 9 month old is with Ammy in Rolly Polly. Lessons are a little tough at first because kids are scared but once they understand the basics, it's a ball. I would recommend this school to anyone that has kids. read more

Fue para mi una experiencia que me ayudo muchísimo como mama, desde el momento que entre conté con el apoyo de todo el personal, el llegar a este lugar ayudo muchísimo a que mi hija aprendiera a defenderse en el agua y salvarse la vida en una emergencia que nosotros como papa nunca creemos que nos puede pasar. No fue una tarea fácil ya que mi hija tenía pánico de entrar agua pero el trabajo en equipo y ayuda de Yas fue vital. I must disagree with the negative feedback that was posted on this site. I was recommended to Born 2 Swim eight years ago when my oldest daughter was two years old. My youngest daughter began when she was eight months old. My daughters are fabulous swimmers thanks to this school. The money I spent with Born 2 Swim was the best investment I have ever made. Jasmine and her staff did not just teach them how to swim. She taught them how to survive in any difficult situation they might be in. Having a home in the Keys, it was very imperative that my then 4yr old learn how to swim but it was impossible to get her near the water! After taking her to Born 2 Swim not only did she become a little fish in the water she was snorkeling with us by the time she graduated from the program that very summer! Yazmin and her entire staff at are so knowledgeable and patient that I would not entrust my child to anyone else. Born 2 Swim is amazing! I brought my daughter for survival swimming when she was 15 months and within 7 weeks she was able to float on her own even when she fell in or was dropped in! Ethical management, dedicated and friendly staff, clean facility. Born2Swim made my daughter, of 3 1/2 years old, go from not wanting to put her head underwater to confidentely jump into the pool, swim, roll over, and float. I can't thank them enough.
