That statement can be misleading depending on the season, as the water is not consistently heated year-round. We are in April, and the water feels extremely cold, almost like "ice water." I have been coming here for several years, and this is the first time we have felt that some younger staff members are interacting with children in a more strict or tense manner; this was not the case before. There are also private hotel pools and small water parks that charge around $15-$20, and many times they feel more relaxed and accessible. This raises a valid question about value and accessibility in comparison. It also gives the impression that there is a gradual shift toward prioritizing residents (despite significant price increases for them as well) or increasing overall costs, which raises concerns about long-term accessibility for non-residents. At the same time, these facilities are publicly funded through taxpayer money, including contributions from Miami-Dade County, and entry fees are intended to help cover operational and maintenance costs.
