I enrolled my son in this school right after turning 1 year old. His father thought I was crazy and so did everyone else. Yes, there are ''cheaper'' schools out there but the skills that my son learned in 6 weeks have been one of my best investments so far. The so called cheaper schools I believe would of ended up costing a lot more, I believe 30 minute lessons once a week isn't enough. I also wanted to feel that my son was safe at all times when near a pool. The swimming lessons weren't why I put him It, it was mostly for the survival swimming. Aquachild was a small Sacrifice for me as I had to drive from Wynwood to North Miami 5 times a week for 10 minute lessons but honestly anything more than 10 minutes would of been too much. My son is now 3 years old and loves the water. I can feel confident in not having to be on top of him while he is in the pool. I love aquachild the whole staff is amazing. My sons father and all of our family and friends are so impressed with my son. I do want him to learn more techniques now that he's older but I moved to Kendall and now it's just to far and I'm working again but if I could get him there I definitely would. read more

Best money I've ever spent, hands-down. My son took the initial 6-week course when he was 18-months old and graduated shortly after. He is now two and can swim like a little fish. I certainly was hesitant about enrolling my child at first, as I imagine others are as well. Aqua Child Poor Service. We went to Aqua Child after a friend recommended it to us. We though the lessons were quite good even though it took us 30-40 minutes driving from Sunny Isles Beach in rush hour, every day, to attend a 10-minute lesson. After our child got sick we called to inform Aqua Child. As we paid only half of the tuition fee which equals to 3 weeks of training (Mon-Fri), we called today to arrange 1 more week as we only used up 2 of the 3 weeks we paid for. We could not extend beyond 3 weeks because we didn't have enough time, as we plan to travel home shortly. To our surprise we ended up talking on the phone with an upset guy called Brian who kept saying the same thing over and over again - that it's a no show, that they never got our phone call (even though we left a message and one of them actually called us back). Then he told us he called 3 times but couldn't reach us. When I asked him which number he called he gave us someone else's number (I am sure we provided the correct number because I have an email confirmation from their website). It's not about money, we didn't even ask for any refunds. We didn't want a refund. We just wanted to get the service we paid for and for our child to attend for 1 more week that he missed because he was sick. We even have a letter from his pediatrician confirming this. But the owners of Aqua Child do not seem to care. In our opinion, it's best to pay $40 / hour for a personal trainer that comes to your house / condo (if you have a swimming pool as we do in our condo) than for 10 minute sessions with such bad service. If your child does get sick (which is what all children do) you will not end up having to talk to anyone asking them to understand - the phone call we had was pretty insulting. To be fair, Scotty was a good teacher (from what we could tell from less than 2 weeks of attending), however, if your child gets sick be ready to meet the aggressive Brian who wouldn't care. Unfortunately, we will not recommend Aqua Child to our friends and hopefully this review makes a difference to their policies in the future. read more

amazing surviving skills...hey if your child falls accidentally in the pool he wont be wearing a bathing suit, he would most likely be fully dressed and with shoes on too!,...my 4 kids had a lot of fun during the entire 6 weeks, they only cried a little during their graduation, but hey they also cry when the doctor gives them the vaccines! I'm pretty sure the kid who will drown Michael Phelps' record a decade from now will have a history that includes Aqua Child. I took my 15 month-old daughter for six weeks, and she learned how to hold her breath, float and what to do if she ever falls in the pool. Along the way, she also learned the pool is pretty awesome and it's fun to jump in and put your face in the water. Infant survival skills and giving confidence in the water is what Aqua Child excels at. The programs philosophy is nothing short of brilliant. Your child attends class Monday through Friday for 10 minutes. And mom and dad stay out of the water. The instructor carefully teaches your child the basic skills they will need should they (god forbid) ever fall into the pool. By the end of six weeks (some sooner) they are ready for graduation, which includes "accidently" falling in the pool fully dressed. While the class is sometimes hard to watch, you can rest assured you are doing the greatest service you can for a child living in a state filled with swimming pools. Sure, your kid may cry and fuss, but what they are getting in the end--survival skills--makes it all worth it. read more

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old who just finished this class. This is with out a doubt the best program that you will sign your child up for. The teachers are amazing!! They do an awesome job of encouraging, teaching, and loving your kids! I was VERY impressed!!! The week before we started this class my 2 1/2 year old daughter would cry any time my husband would hold her and take her out in the pool. After the first week of this class she was holding her breathe under water and beginning to swim short distances. My daughter now swims all over the pool, she dives for toys with little assistance, and is even diving off the side of the pool. This class gave both of my kids so much confidence in the water!! Our friends can not get over all that they can do for their age. I can hardly get over it myself! If you commit to doing this 6 week class go into it trusting the instructors, I think that will allow your kids to trust them as well!! My daughter still asks if we are going to go see Mr Scotty, Mr. Brian, and Mrs. Laura and we have been out of this class for the past three weeks. SIGN UP NOW!!!!!! It will change your whole summer!!!!! As a family we have so much fun at the pool together!!!! My husband throws our two year old in the pool and she loves it, while I let my one year old swim back and forth from me to the steps. In attempting to procure the services of Aquachild, we were continually met with poor customer service, misinformation and ultimately an extremely patronizing dismissal of our concerns which resulted in our cancellation. The owners have much to learn about customer service, and more specifically, service recovery. This is basic business 101. My 2 1/2 year old just finished a 3-week series of swimming lessons at Aquachild. Her first week was tear-filled, her second week was dry-eyed but still with calls of, "Mommy," and her third week was full of smiles. A full series of lessons is usually 6 weeks, but we came in from out of town specifically to take lessons there because we saw what they accomplished with my niece when she was 2. After just 3 weeks, my daughter could propel herself to the stairs/edge/other destination by kicking, she could easily float on her back and, most importantly, she could get to a float on her own. Half-way through the third week, Brian threw her in the water with no warning (exactly how it would be if she were to fall in by accident) and she calmly got herself to a float. They also bring the parents into the water once a week to show you how to reinforce what the kids are doing when you swim with them at home. What more could I ask for from swimming lessons in a place like Miami where there is a pool around every corner?! If you want your child to swim, do Aqua Child now! The program works, teaching kids the swim-float-swim survival method and to have fun along the way. In my own experience with my 4 year old and 18 month old daughters, I used two swim instructors before finally having success with Aqua Child. My 4 year old had a fear of putting her head under the water which actually worsened with the first two teachers. It was not until I enrolled her at Aqua Child that she was finally able to overcome this fear and swim, and it only took four days! My daughters' instructor was sensitive to their developmental stages and personality differences and worked so hard in making sure my kids had fun learning to be safe in the water. The program is a commitment, but going every day for 6 weeks with no flotation devices or swim rings was more effective than my previous experiences.
